| 2 Manderò fuoco in Moab e divorerà i palazzi di Keriòt. Morrà con fragore Moab, con grida di guerra, con squillo di tromba. | 2 So I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the strongholds of Kerioth, and Moab shall die amid uproar, amid shouting and the sound of the trumpet; |
| 3 Sterminerò il giudice di dentro ad esso, e tutti i suoi prìncipi truciderò con lui. Ha detto il Signore. | 3 I will cut off the ruler from its midst, and will slay all its princes with him," says the LORD. |
| 4 Così ha detto il Signore: Per tre prevaricazioni di Giuda e per quattro non lo farò tornare: per aver essi respinto la legge del Signore e non osservato i suoi decreti. Li hanno traviati le loro menzogne cui i padri loro andarono dietro. | 4 Thus says the LORD: "For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment; because they have rejected the law of the LORD, and have not kept his statutes, but their lies have led them astray, after which their fathers walked. |

| 6 Così ha detto il Signore: Per tre prevaricazioni d'Israele e per quattro non lo farò tornare: per aver essi venduto per argento chi è giusto e chi è povero a conto di due sandali, | 6 Thus says the LORD: "For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment; because they sell the righteous for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes-- |
| 7 essi, che calpestano tra la polvere della terra la testa dei miseri e tagliano la via degli umili; e un uomo e il padre suo entrano da una stessa fanciulla allo scopo di profanare il nome mio santo; | 7 they that trample the head of the poor into the dust of the earth, and turn aside the way of the afflicted; a man and his father go in to the same maiden, so that my holy name is profaned; |
| 8 su vesti pignorate si stendono accanto ad ogni altare e vino di multati sbevazzano nella casa del loro dio. | 8 they lay themselves down beside every altar upon garments taken in pledge; and in the house of their God they drink the wine of those who have been fined. |
| 9 Eppure proprio io estirpai l'Amorreo davanti a loro, la cui altezza era come altezza di cedri ed era forte come le querce. | 10 E proprio io vi feci salire dalla terra d'Egitto e vi condussi nel deserto per quarant'anni, perché ereditaste la terra dell'Amorreo. | 10 Also I brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and led you forty years in the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite. |
| 11 Suscitai profeti tra i vostri figli e nazirei tra i vostri adolescenti. Non è forse così, figli d'Israele? Oracolo del Signore. | 11 And I raised up some of your sons for prophets, and some of your young men for Nazirites. Is it not indeed so, O people of Israel?" says the LORD. |
| 12 Abbeveraste i nazirei con vino, e ai profeti comandaste: Non profetate! | 12 "But you made the Nazirites drink wine, and commanded the prophets, saying, 'You shall not prophesy.' |
| 13 Ecco: io sto per affondare sotto di voi come affonda il carro quand'è stracarico di covoni. | 13 "Behold, I will press you down in your place, as a cart full of sheaves presses down. |
