1 Then I saw a beast emerge from the sea: it had seven heads and ten horns, with a coronet on each ofits ten horns, and its heads were marked with blasphemous titles.	1 E vidi una bestia, che saliva dal mare, che aveva sette teste, e dieci corna, e sopra le sue corna dieci diademi, e sopra le sue teste nomi di bestemmia.
2 I saw that the beast was like a leopard, with paws like a bear and a mouth like a lion; the dragon hadhanded over to it his own power and his throne and his immense authority.	2 E la bestia, ch'io vidi, era simile al pardo, e i suoi piedi come piedi d'arso, e la sua bocca come bocca di leone. E il dragone diede ad essa la sua forza, e il suo potere grande.
3 I saw that one of its heads seemed to have had a fatal wound but that this deadly injury had healedand the whole world had marvel ed and fol owed the beast.	3 E vidi una delle sue teste come piagata a morte: ma la sua piaga mortale fu guarita. E tutta quanta la terra con ammirazione seguì la bestia.
4 They prostrated themselves in front of the dragon because he had given the beast his authority; andthey prostrated themselves in front of the beast, saying, 'Who can compare with the beast? Who can fightagainst it?'	4 E adorarono il dragone, che dette potestà alla bestia: e adorarono la bestia, dicendo: chi è da paragonarsi colla bestia? E chi potrà combattere con essa?
5 The beast was allowed to mouth its boasts and blasphemies and to be active for forty-two months;	5 E fulle data una bocca per dir cose grandi, e bestemmie: e fulle dato potere d'agire per mesi quarantadue.
6 and it mouthed its blasphemies against God, against his name, his heavenly Tent and al those whoare sheltered there.	6 Aprì adunque la sua bocca in bestemmie contro Dio, a bestemmiare il suo nome, e il suo tabernacolo, e gli abitatori del cielo.
7 It was allowed to make war against the saints and conquer them, and given power over every race,people, language and nation;	7 E fu conceduto a lei di far guerra co' santi, e di vincerli. E fulle dato potere sopra ogni tribù, e popolo, e lingua, e nazione:
8 and al people of the world wil worship it, that is, everybody whose name has not been written downsince the foundation of the world in the sacrificial Lamb's book of life.	8 E lei adorarono tutti quelli, che abitano la terra, i nomi de' quali non sono scritti nel libro di vita dell'Agnello, il quale fu ucciso dal cominciamento del mondo.
9 Let anyone who can hear, listen:	9 Chi ha orecchio, oda.
10 Those for captivity to captivity; those for death by the sword to death by the sword. This is why thesaints must have perseverance and faith.	10 Chi altrui mena schiavo, va in ischiavitù: chi uccide di spada, bisogna, cha sia ucciso di spada. Qui sta la pazienza, e la fede de' santi.
11 Then I saw a second beast, emerging from the ground; it had two horns like a lamb, but made anoise like a dragon.	11 E vidi un'altra bestia, che saliva da terra, che avea due corna simili all'Agnello, ma parlava come il dragone.
12 This second beast exercised al the power of the first beast, on its behalf making the world and al itspeople worship the first beast, whose deadly injury had healed.	12 Ed esercitava tutto il potere della prima bestia dinanzi ad essa: e fece sì, che la terra, e i suoi abitatori adorasser la prima bestia, della quale fu guarita la piaga mortale.
13 And it worked great miracles, even to calling down fire from heaven onto the earth while peoplewatched.	13 E fece prodigi grandi, sin a fare scendere anche fuoco dal cielo sulla terra a vista degli uomini.
14 Through the miracles which it was al owed to do on behalf of the first beast, it was able to lead astraythe people of the world and persuade them to put up a statue in honour of the beast that had been wounded bythe sword and stil lived.	14 E sedusse gli abitatori della terra mediante i prodigi, che fulle dato di operare davanti alla bestia, dicendo agli abitatori della terra, che facciano l'immagine della bestia, che fu piagata di spada, e si riebbe.
15 It was al owed to breathe life into this statue, so that the statue of the beast was able to speak, and tohave anyone who refused to worship the statue of the beast put to death.	15 E fulle dato di dare spirito all'immagine della bestia, talché l'immagine della bestia ancora parli: e faccia si, che chiunque non adorerò l'immagine della bestia, sia messo a morte.
16 It compel ed everyone -- smal and great alike, rich and poor, slave and citizen -- to be branded onthe right hand or on the forehead,	16 E farà, che tutti quanti, e piccoli, e grandi, e ricchi, e poveri, e liberi, e servi, abbiano un carattere nella loro mano destra, o nella loro fronte:
17 and made it il egal for anyone to buy or sell anything unless he had been branded with the name ofthe beast or with the number of its name.	17 E che nissuno possa comprare, o vendere, eccetto chi ha il carattere, o il nome della bestia, o il numero del suo nome.
18 There is need for shrewdness here: anyone clever may interpret the number of the beast: it is thenumber of a human being, the number 666.	18 Qui consiste la sapienza. Chi ba intelligenza, calcoli il nome della bestia. Attesoché è numero d'uomo: e il suo numero seicento sessanta sei.
