Jeremiah 28

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 That same year, at the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fifth month of the fourthyear, the prophet Hananiah son of Azzur, a Gibeonite, spoke as follows to Jeremiah in the Temple of Yahweh inthe presence of the priests and of al the people,	1 Aquel mismo año, al comienzo del reinado de Sedecías, rey de Judá, el cuarto año, en el quinto mes, Ananías, hijo de Azur, que era un profeta de Gabaón, me habló así en la Casa del Señor, en presencia de los sacerdotes y de todo el pueblo:
2 'Yahweh Sabaoth, the God of Israel, says this, "I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.	2 «Así habla el Señor de los ejércitos, el Dios de Israel: ¡Yo he quebrado el yugo del rey de Babilonia!
3 In exactly two years' time I shal bring back al the vessels of the Temple of Yahweh whichNebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from here and carried off to Babylon.	3 Dentro de dos años, devolveré a este lugar los objetos de la Casa del Señor de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, sacó de este lugar y se llevó a Babilonia.
4 And I shal also bring back Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah and al the exiles of Judah whohave gone to Babylon, Yahweh declares, for I shal break the yoke of the king of Babylon." '	4 Y también a Jeconías, hijo de Joaquím, rey de Judá, y a todos los deportados de Judá que fueron a Babilonia, los haré volver a este lugar –oráculo del Señor– cuando yo quiebre el yugo del rey de Babilonia».
5 The prophet Jeremiah then replied to the prophet Hananiah in front of the priests and al the peoplepresent in the Temple of Yahweh.	5 Entonces el profeta Jeremías se dirigió al profeta Ananías, en presencia de los sacerdotes y de todo el pueblo, que estaban de pie en la Casa del Señor,
6 'So be it!' the prophet Jeremiah said, 'May Yahweh do so! May he fulfil the words that you haveprophesied and bring al the vessels of the Temple of Yahweh and al the exiles back to this place from Babylon.	6 y el profeta Jeremías dijo: «¡Amén! ¡Que así lo haga el Señor! Que el Señor cumpla tus palabras, las que tú has profetizado, haciendo volver los objetos de la Casa del Señor y a todos los deportados, de Babilonia a este lugar.
7 Listen carefully, however, to this word that I am now going to say for you and al the people to hear:	7 Sin embargo, escucha bien esta palabra que yo digo a tus oídos, y a los oídos de todo el pueblo:
8 From remote times, the prophets who preceded you and me prophesied war, disaster and plague formany countries and for great kingdoms;	8 Los profetas que nos han precedido desde siempre, a mí y a ti, profetizaron la guerra, el hambre y la peste a numerosos países y contra grandes reinos.
9 the prophet who prophesies peace can be recognised as one truly sent by Yahweh only when his wordcomes true.'	9 Pero si un profeta profetiza la paz, sólo cuando se cumple la palabra de ese profeta, él es reconocido como profeta verdaderamente enviado por el Señor».
10 The prophet Hananiah then snatched the yoke off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah and broke it.	10 El profeta Ananías tomó la barra que estaba sobre el cuello de Jeremías y la quebró.
11 In front of al the people Hananiah then said, 'Yahweh says this, "This is how, in exactly two years'time, I shall break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and take it off the necks of al the nations." ' Atthis, the prophet Jeremiah went away.	11 Luego dijo, en presencia de todo el pueblo: «Así habla el Señor: De esta misma manera, dentro de dos años, yo quebraré el yugo de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, que está encima del cuello de todas las naciones». Y el profeta Jeremías se fue por su camino.
12 After the prophet Hananiah had broken the yoke he had snatched off the prophet Jeremiah's neck,the word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah,	12 Después que el profeta Ananías quebró la barra que estaba sobre el cuello del profeta Jeremías, la palabra del Señor llegó a Jeremías, en estos términos:
13 'Go to Hananiah and tell him this, "Yahweh says this: You have broken the wooden yokes only tomake iron yokes to replace them!	13 «Ve a decirle a Ananías: Así habla el Señor: Tú has quebrado barras de madera, pero yo no pondré en lugar de ellas barras de hierro.
14 For Yahweh Sabaoth, the God of Israel, says this: An iron yoke is what I now lay on the necks of althese nations to enslave them to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. (They wil be enslaved to him; I have evengiven him the wild animals.)" '	14 Porque así habla el Señor de los ejércitos, el Dios de Israel: Yo he puesto un yugo de hierro sobre todas estas naciones, para que sirvan a Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, y ellas lo servirán; hasta los animales del campo se los he dado».
15 The prophet Jeremiah said to the prophet Hananiah, 'Listen careful y, Hananiah: Yahweh has not sentyou; and thanks to you this people is now relying on what is false.	15 El profeta Jeremías dijo al profeta Ananías: «¡Escucha bien, Ananías! El Señor no te ha enviado, y tú has infundido confianza a este pueblo valiéndote de una mentira.
16 And so, Yahweh says this, "I am going to send you off the face of the earth: you wil die this year(since you have preached rebel ion against Yahweh)." '	16 Por eso, así habla el Señor: Yo te enviaré lejos de la superficie del suelo: este año morirás, porque has predicado la rebelión contra el Señor».
17 The prophet Hananiah died the same year, in the seventh month.	17 El profeta Ananías murió ese mismo año, en el séptimo mes.
