1 God of vengeance, Yahweh, God of vengeance, shine forth!	1 Bože osvetniče, Jahve, Bože osvetniče, pokaži se.
2 Arise, judge of the world, give back the proud what they deserve!	2 Ustani, ti što sudiš zemlju, po zasluzi plati oholima!
3 How long are the wicked, Yahweh, how long are the wicked to triumph?	3 Dokle će bezbošci, Jahve, dokle će se bezbošci hvastati?
4 They bluster and boast, they flaunt themselves, all the evil-doers.	4 Dokle će brbljati, drsko govoriti, dokle će se bezakonici hvastati?
5 They crush your people, Yahweh, they oppress your heritage,	5 Tlače narod tvoj, Jahve, i baštinu tvoju pritišću;
6 they murder the widow and the stranger, bring the orphan to a violent death.	6 kolju udovicu i pridošlicu, sirotama život oduzimlju
7 They say, 'Yahweh is not looking, the God of Jacob is taking no notice.'	7 i govore: »Jahve ne vidi! Ne opaža Bog Jakovljev!«
8 Take notice yourselves, you coarsest of people! Fools, when wil you learn some sense?	8 Shvatite, lude u narodu: bezumni, kad ćete se urazumiti?
9 Shal he who implanted the ear not hear, he who fashioned the eye not see?	9 Onaj što uho zasadi da ne čuje? Koji stvori oko da ne vidi?
10 Shal he who instructs nations not punish? Yahweh, the teacher of al people,	10 Onaj što odgaja narode da ne kazni – Onaj što ljude uči mudrosti?
11 knows human plans and how insipid they are.	11 Jahve poznaje namisli ljudske: one su isprazne.
12 How blessed are those you instruct, Yahweh, whom you teach by means of your law,	12 Blago onom koga ti poučavaš, Jahve, i učiš zakonu svojemu:
13 to give them respite in evil times, til a pit is dug for the wicked.	13 da mu mir udijeliš od nesretnih dana, dok se grob kopa zlikovcu.
14 Yahweh will not abandon his people, he wil not desert his heritage;	14 Jer neće Jahve odbaciti naroda svojega i svoje baštine neće napustiti;
15 for judgement will again become saving justice, and in its wake al upright hearts will fol ow.	15 jer će se pravo dosuditi pravednosti i za njom će ići svi čestiti srcem.
16 Who rises up on my side against the wicked? Who stands firm on my side against al evil-doers?	16 Tko će ustati za me protiv zlotvora? Tko će se zauzeti za me protiv zločinaca?
17 If Yahweh did not come to my help, I should soon find myself dwel ing in the silence.	17 Da mi Jahve ne pomaže, brzo bih sišao u mjesto tišine.
18 I need only say, 'I am slipping,' for your faithful love, Yahweh, to support me;	18 Čim pomislim: »Noga mi posrće«, dobrota me tvoja, o Jahve, podupire.
19 however great the anxiety of my heart, your consolations soothe me.	19 Kad se skupe tjeskobe u srcu mome, tvoje mi utjehe dušu vesele.
20 Are you partner to a destructive court, that gives disorder the status of law?	20 Zar je bezbožno sudište u savezu s tobom kad nevolje stvara pod izlikom zakona?
21 They make an attack on the life of the upright, and condemn innocent blood.	21 Nek’ samo pritišću dušu pravednog, nek’ osuđuju krv nedužnu:
22 No! Yahweh is a stronghold to me, my God is my rock of refuge.	22 Jahve mi je utvrda, Bog – hrid utočišta moga.
23 He turns back their guilt on themselves, annihilates them for their wickedness, he annihilates them,Yahweh our God.	23 Platit će im bezakonje njihovo, njihovom će ih zloćom istrijebiti, istrijebit će ih Jahve, Bog naš.
