| 3 Ed ecco le misure de fondamenti gettati da Salomone: la lunghezza era di sessanta cubiti dell'antica misura, la larghezza venti cubiti. | 3 These are Solomon's measurements for building the house of God: the length, in cubits of the old standard, was sixty cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits. |
| 4 Il vestibolo poi, che era in faccia avea la sua lunghezza corrispondente alla larghezza della casa, di venti cubiti: e l'altezza era di cento venti cubi: e (Salomone) là fece tutta indorare al di dentro d'oro finissimo. | 4 The vestibule in front of the nave of the house was twenty cubits long, equal to the width of the house; and its height was a hundred and twenty cubits. He overlaid it on the inside with pure gold. |
| 5 E la casa maggiore la rivesti di tavole di abete, e vi affisse sopra da tutte le parti lamine d'oro purissimo: e vi fece scolpire delle palme, e come catenelle infilate le une nelle altre. | 5 The nave he lined with cypress, and covered it with fine gold, and made palms and chains on it. |
| 6 E lastricò il pavimento del tempio di prezioso marmo a grande ornamento. | 6 He adorned the house with settings of precious stones. The gold was gold of Parvaim. |
| 7 Finissimo poi era l'oro, col quale ridotto in lamine coperse la casa, e le sue travi, e i pilastri e le pareti, e le porte: e sulle pareti fece de' Cherubini d'intaglio. | 7 So he lined the house with gold--its beams, its thresholds, its walls, and its doors; and he carved cherubim on the walls. |
| 8 Fece parimente la casa del Santo de' Santi: la di cui lunghezza era, come la larghezza del tempio, di venti cubiti, e la larghezza pure di venti cubiti, e la vesti di lamine d'oro di peso circa secento talenti. | 8 And he made the most holy place; its length, corresponding to the breadth of the house, was twenty cubits, and its breadth was twenty cubits; he overlaid it with six hundred talents of fine gold. |
| 9 E i chiodi stessi li fece d'oro, e ognuno di essi chiodi pesava cinquanta sicli e la soffitta la coperse parimente d'oro. | 9 The weight of the nails was one shekel to fifty shekels of gold. And he overlaid the upper chambers with gold. |
| 10 E fece ancora nella casa del Santo de' Santi due statue di Cherubini: e le ricoperse d'oro. | 10 In the most holy place he made two cherubim of wood and overlaid them with gold. |
| 11 Le ale de' Cherubini aveano di estensione venti cubiti, talmente che un'ala dell'un di essi avea cinque cubiti, e toccava la muraglia della casa: e l'altra aveva anch'essa cinque cubiti, e toccava l'ala dell'altro Cherubino. | 11 The wings of the cherubim together extended twenty cubits: one wing of the one, of five cubits, touched the wall of the house, and its other wing, of five cubits, touched the wing of the other cherub; |
| 12 Parimente un'ala dell'altro Cherubino avea cinque cubiti, e toccava la muraglia: e l'altra ala avea pur cinque cubiti, e toccava l'ala dell'altro Cherubino. | 12 and of this cherub, one wing, of five cubits, touched the wall of the house, and the other wing, also of five cubits, was joined to the wing of the first cherub. |
| 13 Le ale adunque di ambedue i Cherubini eran distese, e prendevan lo spazio di venti cubiti: ed eglino stavan ritti sui loro piedi, e i loro volti guardavano la casa esteriore. | 13 The wings of these cherubim extended twenty cubits; the cherubim stood on their feet, facing the nave. |
| 14 Fece anche il velo di giacinto, di porpora, di scarlatto, e di dìsso: e vi fece ricamare dei Cherubini. | 14 And he made the veil of blue and purple and crimson fabrics and fine linen, and worked cherubim on it. |
| 15 E di più dinanzi alle porte del tempio due colonne alte trentacinque cubiti: e i loro capitelli di cinque cubiti. | 15 In front of the house he made two pillars thirty-five cubits high, with a capital of five cubits on the top of each. |
| 16 E fece ancora delle catenelle come nel Santuario, e le soprappose ai capitelli delle colonne: e cento meligranati frammischiati colle catenelle. | 16 He made chains like a necklace and put them on the tops of the pillars; and he made a hundred pomegranates, and put them on the chains. |
| 17 E collocò queste colonne nel vestibolo del tempio, una a destra, e l'altra a sinistra: e quella della destra la chiamò Jachin; e quella della sinistra, Booz. | 17 He set up the pillars in front of the temple, one on the south, the other on the north; that on the south he called Jachin, and that on the north Boaz. |
