EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 De David. [Alef] A ti, Señor, elevo mi alma,	1 [Of David] ADORATION I offer, Yahweh,
2 [Bet] Dios mío, yo pongo en ti mi confianza; ¡que no tenga que avergonzarme ni se rían de mí mis enemigos!	2 to you, my God. BUT in my trust in you do not put me to shame, let not my enemies gloat over me.
3 [Guímel] Ninguno de los que esperan en ti tendrá que avergonzarse: se avergonzarán los que traicionan en vano.	3 CALLING to you, none shal ever be put to shame, but shame is theirs who groundlessly break faith.
4 [Dálet] Muéstrame, Señor, tus caminos, enséñame tus senderos.	4 DIRECT me in your ways, Yahweh, and teach me your paths.
5 [He] Guíame por el camino de tu fidelidad; enséñame, porque tú eres mi Dios y mi salvador, [Vau]. y yo espero en ti todo el día.	5 ENCOURAGE me to walk in your truth and teach me since you are the God who saves me. FOR myhope is in you all day long -- such is your generosity, Yahweh.
6 [Zain] Acuérdate, Señor, de tu compasión y de tu amor, porque son eternos.	6 GOODNESS and faithful love have been yours for ever, Yahweh, do not forget them.
7 [Jet] No recuerdes los pecados ni las rebeldías de mi juventud: por tu bondad, Señor, acuérdate de mi según tu fidelidad.	7 HOLD not my youthful sins against me, but remember me as your faithful love dictates.
8 [Tet] El Señor es bondadoso y recto: por eso muestra el camino a los extraviados;	8 INTEGRITY and generosity are marks of Yahweh for he brings sinners back to the path.
9 [Iod] él guía a los humildes para que obren rectamente y enseña su camino a los pobres.	9 JUDICIOUSLY he guides the humble, instructing the poor in his way.
10 [Caf] Todos los senderos del Señor son amor y fidelidad, para los que observan los preceptos de su alianza.	10 KINDNESS unfailing and constancy mark al Yahweh's paths, for those who keep his covenant andhis decrees.
11 [Lámed] ¡Por el honor de tu Nombre, Señor, perdona mi culpa, aunque es muy grande!	11 LET my sin, great though it is, be forgiven, Yahweh, for the sake of your name.
12 [Mem] ¿Hay alguien que teme al Señor? El le indicará el camino que debe elegir:	12 MEN who respect Yahweh, what of them? He teaches them the way they must choose.
13 [Nun] su alma descansará feliz y su descendencia poseerá la tierra.	13 NEIGHBOURS to happiness wil they live, and their children inherit the land.
14 [Sámec] El Señor da su amistad a los que lo temen y les hace conocer su alianza.	14 ONLY those who fear Yahweh have his secret and his covenant, for their understanding.
15 [Ain] Mis ojos están siempre fijos en el Señor, porque él sacará mis pies de la trampa.	15 PERMANENTLY my eyes are on Yahweh, for he will free my feet from the snare.
16 [Pe] Mírame, Señor, y ten piedad de mí, porque estoy solo y afligido:	16 QUICK, turn to me, pity me, alone and wretched as I am!
17 [Sade] alivia las angustias de mi corazón, y sácame de mis tribulaciones.	17 RELIEVE the distress of my heart, bring me out of my constraint.
18 [Qof] Mira mi aflicción y mis fatigas, y perdona todos mis pecados.	18 SPARE a glance for my misery and pain, take al my sins away.
19 [Res] Mira qué numerosos son mis enemigos y qué violento es el odio que me tienen.	19 TAKE note how countless are my enemies, how violent their hatred for me.
20 [Sin] Defiende mi vida y líbrame: que no me avergüence de haber confiado en ti;	20 UNLESS you guard me and rescue me I shall be put to shame, for you are my refuge.
21 [Tau] la integridad y la rectitud me protegen, porque yo espero en ti, Señor.	21 VIRTUE and integrity be my protection, for my hope, Yahweh, is in you.
22 Salva, Dios mío, a Israel de todas sus angustias.	22 Ransom Israel, O God, from al its troubles.
