¹ Pavao, Silvan i Timotej Crkvi Solunjanâ u Bogu Ocu našemu i Gospodinu Isusu Kristu.	¹ Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, to the Church of the Thessalonians in God our father and the Lord Jesus Christ:
² Milost vam i mir od Boga Oca i Gospodina Isusa Krista!	² Grace to you and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
³ Zahvaljivati moramo Bogu uvijek za vas, braćo, kao što dolikuje jer izvanredno raste vaša vjera i množi se ljubav svakoga od vas prema drugima,	³ We are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren, as is fitting, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of every one of you for one another is increasing.
⁴ tako da se mi sami po crkvama Božjim vama ponosimo zbog vaše postojanosti i vjere u svim progonstvima i nevoljama koje podnosite.	⁴ Therefore we ourselves boast of you in the churches of God for your steadfastness and faith in all your persecutions and in the afflictions which you are enduring.
⁵ One su najava pravednog Suda Božjega: da ćete se naći dostojni kraljevstva Božjega za koje i trpite.	⁵ This is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be made worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering--
⁶ Jer pravo je da Bog vašim mučiteljima mukôm,	⁶ since indeed God deems it just to repay with affliction those who afflict you,
⁷ a vama, mučenima, zajedno s nama spokojem uzvrati kad se Gospodin Isus objavi s nama, zajedno s anđelima svoje moći,	⁷ and to grant rest with us to you who are afflicted, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire,
⁸ u ognju žarkome i osveti se onima koji ne poznaju Boga i ne pokoravaju se evanđelju Gospodina našega Isusa.	⁸ inflicting vengeance upon those who do not know God and upon those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
⁹ Oni će biti kažnjeni vječnom propašću, daleko od lica Gospodnjega i od slave njegova veličanstva,	⁹ They shall suffer the punishment of eternal destruction and exclusion from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might,
¹⁰ kada – u onaj Dan – dođe da se proslavi u svojim svetima i da se prodiči u svima koji povjerovaše. Jer povjerovalo se svjedočanstvu našemu među vama.	¹⁰ when he comes on that day to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at in all who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed.
¹¹ Zato i molimo uvijek za vas da vas Bog učini dostojnima poziva i snažno dovede do punine svako vaše nastojanje oko dobra i djelo vaše vjere	¹¹ To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his call, and may fulfil every good resolve and work of faith by his power,
¹² te da se proslavi ime Gospodina našega Isusa u vama i vi u njemu – po milosti Boga našega i Gospodina Isusa Krista.	¹² so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
