Yermĭyahu ( ירמיהו) - Geremia 9

1 חָכְמֹות בָּנְתָה בֵיתָהּ חָצְבָה עַמּוּדֶיהָ שִׁבְעָה	1 Wisdom has built her house, she has set up her seven columns;
2 טָבְחָה טִבְחָהּ מָסְכָה יֵינָהּ אַף עָרְכָה שֻׁלְחָנָהּ	2 She has dressed her meat, mixed her wine, yes, she has spread her table.
3 שָׁלְחָה נַעֲרֹתֶיהָ תִקְרָא עַל־גַּפֵּי מְרֹמֵי קָרֶת	3 She has sent out her maidens; she calls from the heights out over the city:
4 מִי־פֶתִי יָסֻר הֵנָּה חֲסַר־לֵב אָמְרָה לֹּו	4 "Let whoever is simple turn in here; to him who lacks understanding, I say,
5 לְכוּ לַחֲמוּ בְלַחֲמִי וּשְׁתוּ בְּיַיִן מָסָכְתִּי	5 Come, eat of my food, and drink of the wine I have mixed!
6 עִזְבוּ פְתָאיִם וִחְיוּ וְאִשְׁרוּ בְּדֶרֶךְ בִּינָה	6 Forsake foolishness that you may live; advance in the way of understanding.
7 יֹסֵר ׀ לֵץ לֹקֵחַ לֹו קָלֹון וּמֹוכִיחַ לְרָשָׁע מוּמֹו	7 He who corrects an arrogant man earns insult; and he who reproves a wicked man incurs opprobrium.
8 אַל־תֹּוכַח לֵץ פֶּן־יִשְׂנָאֶךָּ הֹוכַח לְחָכָם וְיֶאֱהָבֶךָּ	8 Reprove not an arrogant man, lest he hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you.
9 תֵּן לְחָכָם וְיֶחְכַּם־עֹוד הֹודַע לְצַדִּיק וְיֹוסֶף לֶקַח׃ פ	9 Instruct a wise man, and he becomes still wiser; teach a just man, and he advances in learning.
10 תְּחִלַּת חָכְמָה יִרְאַת יְהוָה וְדַעַת קְדֹשִׁים בִּינָה	10 The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the LORD, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
11 כִּי־בִי יִרְבּוּ יָמֶיךָ וְיֹוסִיפוּ לְּךָ שְׁנֹות חַיִּים	11 For by me your days will be multiplied and the years of your life increased."
12 אִם־חָכַמְתָּ חָכַמְתָּ לָּךְ וְלַצְתָּ לְבַדְּךָ תִשָּׂא	12 If you are wise, it is to your own advantage; and if you are arrogant, you alone shall bear it.
13 אֵשֶׁת כְּסִילוּת הֹמִיָּה פְּתַיּוּת וּבַל־יָדְעָה מָּה	13 The woman Folly is fickle, she is inane, and knows nothing.
14 וְיָשְׁבָה לְפֶתַח בֵּיתָהּ עַל־כִּסֵּא מְרֹמֵי קָרֶת	14 She sits at the door of her house upon a seat on the city heights,
15 לִקְרֹא לְעֹבְרֵי־דָרֶךְ הַמְיַשְּׁרִים אֹרְחֹותָם	15 Calling to passers-by as they go on their straight way:
16 מִי־פֶתִי יָסֻר הֵנָּה וַחֲסַר־לֵב וְאָמְרָה לֹּו	16 "Let whoever is simple turn in here, or who lacks understanding; for to him I say,
17 מַיִם־גְּנוּבִים יִמְתָּקוּ וְלֶחֶם סְתָרִים יִנְעָם	17 Stolen water is sweet, and bread gotten secretly is pleasing!"
18 וְלֹא־יָדַע כִּי־רְפָאִים שָׁם בְּעִמְקֵי שְׁאֹול קְרֻאֶיהָ׃ פ	18 Little he knows that the shades are there, that in the depths of the nether world are her guests!
19 כִּי־שְׁמַעְנָה נָשִׁים דְּבַר־יְהוָה וְתִקַּח אָזְנְכֶם דְּבַר־פִּיו וְלַמֵּדְנָה בְנֹותֵיכֶם נֶהִי וְאִשָּׁה רְעוּתָהּ קִינָה
20 כִּי־עָלָה מָוֶת בְּחַלֹּונֵינוּ בָּא בְּאַרְמְנֹותֵינוּ לְהַכְרִית עֹולָל מִחוּץ בַּחוּרִים מֵרְחֹבֹות
21 דַּבֵּר כֹּה נְאֻם־יְהוָה וְנָפְלָה נִבְלַת הָאָדָם כְּדֹמֶן עַל־פְּנֵי הַשָּׂדֶה וּכְעָמִיר מֵאַחֲרֵי הַקֹּצֵר וְאֵין מְאַסֵּף׃ ס
22 כֹּה ׀ אָמַר יְהוָה אַל־יִתְהַלֵּל חָכָם בְּחָכְמָתֹו וְאַל־יִתְהַלֵּל הַגִּבֹּור בִּגְבוּרָתֹו אַל־יִתְהַלֵּל עָשִׁיר בְּעָשְׁרֹו
23 כִּי אִם־בְּזֹאת יִתְהַלֵּל הַמִּתְהַלֵּל הַשְׂכֵּל וְיָדֹעַ אֹותִי כִּי אֲנִי יְהוָה עֹשֶׂה חֶסֶד מִשְׁפָּט וּצְדָקָה בָּאָרֶץ כִּי־בְאֵלֶּה חָפַצְתִּי נְאֻם־יְהוָה׃ ס
24 הִנֵּה יָמִים בָּאִים נְאֻם־יְהוָה וּפָקַדְתִּי עַל־כָּל־מוּל בְּעָרְלָה
25 עַל־מִצְרַיִם וְעַל־יְהוּדָה וְעַל־אֱדֹום וְעַל־בְּנֵי עַמֹּון וְעַל־מֹואָב וְעַל כָּל־קְצוּצֵי פֵאָה הַיֹּשְׁבִים בַּמִּדְבָּר כִּי כָל־הַגֹּויִם עֲרֵלִים וְכָל־בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל עַרְלֵי־לֵב׃ ס
