| 1 וְאֵלֶּה ׀ בְּנֵי הַמְּדִינָה הָעֹלִים מִשְּׁבִי הַגֹּולָה אֲשֶׁר הֶגְלָה [נְבוּכַדְנֶצֹּור כ] (נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּר ק) מֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶל לְבָבֶל וַיָּשׁוּבוּ לִירוּשָׁלִַם וִיהוּדָה אִישׁ לְעִירֹו | 1 Now these were the people of the province who came up out of the captivity of those exiles whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried captive to Babylonia; they returned to Jerusalem and Judah, each to his own town. |
| 2 אֲשֶׁר־בָּאוּ עִם־זְרֻבָּבֶל יֵשׁוּעַ נְחֶמְיָה שְׂרָיָה רְעֵלָיָה מָרְדֳּכַי בִּלְשָׁן מִסְפָּר בִּגְוַי רְחוּם בַּעֲנָה מִסְפַּר אַנְשֵׁי עַם יִשְׂרָאֵל׃ ס | 2 They came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Re-el-aiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvai, Rehum, and Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel: |
| 3 בְּנֵי פַרְעֹשׁ אַלְפַּיִם מֵאָה שִׁבְעִים וּשְׁנָיִם׃ ס | 3 the sons of Parosh, two thousand one hundred and seventy-two. |
| 4 בְּנֵי שְׁפַטְיָה שְׁלֹשׁ מֵאֹות שִׁבְעִים וּשְׁנָיִם׃ ס | 4 The sons of Shephatiah, three hundred and seventy-two. |
| 5 בְּנֵי אָרַח שְׁבַע מֵאֹות חֲמִשָּׁה וְשִׁבְעִים׃ ס | 5 The sons of Arah, seven hundred and seventy-five. |
| 6 בְּנֵי־פַחַת מֹואָב לִבְנֵי יֵשׁוּעַ יֹואָב אַלְפַּיִם שְׁמֹנֶה מֵאֹות וּשְׁנֵים עָשָׂר׃ ס | 6 The sons of Pahath-moab, namely the sons of Jeshua and Joab, two thousand eight hundred and twelve. |
| 7 בְּנֵי עֵילָם אֶלֶף מָאתַיִם חֲמִשִּׁים וְאַרְבָּעָה׃ ס | 7 The sons of Elam, one thousand two hundred and fifty-four. |
| 8 בְּנֵי זַתּוּא תְּשַׁע מֵאֹות וְאַרְבָּעִים וַחֲמִשָּׁה׃ ס | 8 The sons of Zattu, nine hundred and forty-five. |
| 9 בְּנֵי זַכָּי שְׁבַע מֵאֹות וְשִׁשִּׁים׃ ס | 9 The sons of Zaccai, seven hundred and sixty. |
| 10 בְּנֵי בָנִי שֵׁשׁ מֵאֹות אַרְבָּעִים וּשְׁנָיִם׃ ס | 10 The sons of Bani, six hundred and forty-two. |
| 11 בְּנֵי בֵבָי שֵׁשׁ מֵאֹות עֶשְׂרִים וּשְׁלֹשָׁה׃ ס | 11 The sons of Bebai, six hundred and twenty-three. |

| 25 בְּנֵי קִרְיַת עָרִים כְּפִירָה וּבְאֵרֹות שְׁבַע מֵאֹות וְאַרְבָּעִים וּשְׁלֹשָׁה׃ ס | 25 The sons of Kiriatharim, Chephirah, and Be-eroth, seven hundred and forty-three. |
| 26 בְּנֵי הָרָמָה וָגָבַע שֵׁשׁ מֵאֹות עֶשְׂרִים וְאֶחָד׃ ס | 26 The sons of Ramah and Geba, six hundred and twenty-one. |
| 27 אַנְשֵׁי מִכְמָס מֵאָה עֶשְׂרִים וּשְׁנָיִם׃ ס | 27 The men of Michmas, one hundred and twenty-two. |
| 28 אַנְשֵׁי בֵית־אֵל וְהָעָי מָאתַיִם עֶשְׂרִים וּשְׁלֹשָׁה׃ ס | 28 The men of Bethel and Ai, two hundred and twenty-three. |
| 29 בְּנֵי נְבֹו חֲמִשִּׁים וּשְׁנָיִם׃ ס | 29 The sons of Nebo, fifty-two. |
| 30 בְּנֵי מַגְבִּישׁ מֵאָה חֲמִשִּׁים וְשִׁשָּׁה׃ ס | 30 The sons of Magbish, one hundred and fifty-six. |
| 31 בְּנֵי עֵילָם אַחֵר אֶלֶף מָאתַיִם חֲמִשִּׁים וְאַרְבָּעָה׃ ס | 31 The sons of the other Elam, one thousand two hundred and fifty-four. |
| 32 בְּנֵי חָרִם שְׁלֹשׁ מֵאֹות וְעֶשְׂרִים׃ ס | 32 The sons of Harim, three hundred and twenty. |

| 36 הַכֹּהֲנִים בְּנֵי יְדַעְיָה לְבֵית יֵשׁוּעַ תְּשַׁע מֵאֹות שִׁבְעִים וּשְׁלֹשָׁה׃ ס | 36 The priests: the sons of Jedaiah, of the house of Jeshua, nine hundred and seventy-three. |
| 37 בְּנֵי אִמֵּר אֶלֶף חֲמִשִּׁים וּשְׁנָיִם׃ ס | 37 The sons of Immer, one thousand and fifty-two. |
| 38 בְּנֵי פַשְׁחוּר אֶלֶף מָאתַיִם אַרְבָּעִים וְשִׁבְעָה׃ ס | 38 The sons of Pashhur, one thousand two hundred and forty-seven. |

| 40 הַלְוִיִּם בְּנֵי־יֵשׁוּעַ וְקַדְמִיאֵל לִבְנֵי הֹודַוְיָה שִׁבְעִים וְאַרְבָּעָה׃ ס | 40 The Levites: the sons of Jeshua and Kadmi-el, of the sons of Hodaviah, seventy-four. |
| 41 הַמְשֹׁרְרִים בְּנֵי אָסָף מֵאָה עֶשְׂרִים וּשְׁמֹנָה׃ פ | 41 The singers: the sons of Asaph, one hundred and twenty-eight. |
| 42 בְּנֵי הַשֹּׁעֲרִים בְּנֵי־שַׁלּוּם בְּנֵי־אָטֵר בְּנֵי־טַלְמֹון בְּנֵי־עַקּוּב בְּנֵי חֲטִיטָא בְּנֵי שֹׁבָי הַכֹּל מֵאָה שְׁלֹשִׁים וְתִשְׁעָה׃ פ | 42 The sons of the gatekeepers: the sons of Shallum, the sons of Ater, the sons of Talmon, the sons of Akkub, the sons of Hatita, and the sons of Shobai, in all one hundred and thirty-nine. |
| 43 הַנְּתִינִים בְּנֵי־צִיחָא בְנֵי־חֲשׂוּפָא בְּנֵי טַבָּעֹות | 43 The temple servants: the sons of Ziha, the sons of Hasupha, the sons of Tabbaoth, |
| 44 בְּנֵי־קֵרֹס בְּנֵי־סִיעֲהָא בְּנֵי פָדֹון | 44 the sons of Keros, the sons of Siaha, the sons of Padon, |
| 45 בְּנֵי־לְבָנָה בְנֵי־חֲגָבָה בְּנֵי עַקּוּב | 45 the sons of Lebanah, the sons of Hagabah, the sons of Akkub, |
| 46 בְּנֵי־חָגָב בְּנֵי־ [שַׁמְלַי כ] (שַׁלְמַי ק) בְּנֵי חָנָן | 46 the sons of Hagab, the sons of Shamlai, the sons of Hanan, |
| 47 בְּנֵי־גִדֵּל בְּנֵי־גַחַר בְּנֵי רְאָיָה | 47 the sons of Giddel, the sons of Gahar, the sons of Re-aiah, |

| 51 בְּנֵי־בַקְבּוּק בְּנֵי־חֲקוּפָא בְּנֵי חַרְחוּר | 51 the sons of Bakbuk, the sons of Hakupha, the sons of Harhur, |
| 52 בְּנֵי־בַצְלוּת בְּנֵי־מְחִידָא בְּנֵי חַרְשָׁא | 52 the sons of Bazluth, the sons of Mehida, the sons of Harsha, |
| 53 בְּנֵי־בַרְקֹוס בְּנֵי־סִיסְרָא בְּנֵי־תָמַח | 53 the sons of Barkos, the sons of Sisera, the sons of Temah, |
| 54 בְּנֵי נְצִיחַ בְּנֵי חֲטִיפָא | 54 the sons of Neziah, and the sons of Hatipha. |
| 55 בְּנֵי עַבְדֵי שְׁלֹמֹה בְּנֵי־סֹטַי בְּנֵי־הַסֹּפֶרֶת בְּנֵי פְרוּדָא | 55 The sons of Solomon's servants: the sons of Sotai, the sons of Hassophereth, the sons of Peruda, |
| 56 בְּנֵי־יַעְלָה בְנֵי־דַרְקֹון בְּנֵי גִדֵּל | 56 the sons of Jaalah, the sons of Darkon, the sons of Giddel, |
| 57 בְּנֵי שְׁפַטְיָה בְנֵי־חַטִּיל בְּנֵי פֹּכֶרֶת הַצְּבָיִים בְּנֵי אָמִי | 57 the sons of Shephatiah, the sons of Hattil, the sons of Pochereth-hazzebaim, and the sons of Ami. |
| 58 כָּל־הַנְּתִינִים וּבְנֵי עַבְדֵי שְׁלֹמֹה שְׁלֹשׁ מֵאֹות תִּשְׁעִים וּשְׁנָיִם׃ ס | 58 All the temple servants and the sons of Solomon's servants were three hundred and ninety-two. |
| 59 וְאֵלֶּה הָעֹלִים מִתֵּל מֶלַח תֵּל חַרְשָׁא כְּרוּב אַדָּן אִמֵּר וְלֹא יָכְלוּ לְהַגִּיד בֵּית־אֲבֹותָם וְזַרְעָם אִם מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל הֵם | 59 The following were those who came up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsha, Cherub, Addan, and Immer, though they could not prove their fathers' houses or their descent, whether they belonged to Israel: |
| 60 בְּנֵי־דְלָיָה בְנֵי־טֹובִיָּה בְּנֵי נְקֹודָא שֵׁשׁ מֵאֹות חֲמִשִּׁים וּשְׁנָיִם׃ ס | 60 the sons of Delaiah, the sons of Tobiah, and the sons of Nekoda, six hundred and fifty-two. |
| 61 וּמִבְּנֵי הַכֹּהֲנִים בְּנֵי חֳבַיָּה בְּנֵי הַקֹּוץ בְּנֵי בַרְזִלַּי אֲשֶׁר לָקַח מִבְּנֹות בַּרְזִלַּי הַגִּלְעָדִי אִשָּׁה וַיִּקָּרֵא עַל־שְׁמָם | 61 Also, of the sons of the priests: the sons of Habaiah, the sons of Hakkoz, and the sons of Barzillai (who had taken a wife from the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was called by their name). |
| 62 אֵלֶּה בִּקְשׁוּ כְתָבָם הַמִּתְיַחְשִׂים וְלֹא נִמְצָאוּ וַיְגֹאֲלוּ מִן־הַכְּהֻנָּה | 62 These sought their registration among those enrolled in the genealogies, but they were not found there, and so they were excluded from the priesthood as unclean; |
| 63 וַיֹּאמֶר הַתִּרְשָׁתָא לָהֶם אֲשֶׁר לֹא־יֹאכְלוּ מִקֹּדֶשׁ הַקֳּדָשִׁים עַד עֲמֹד כֹּהֵן לְאוּרִים וּלְתֻמִּים | 63 the governor told them that they were not to partake of the most holy food, until there should be a priest to consult Urim and Thummim. |
| 64 כָּל־הַקָּהָל כְּאֶחָד אַרְבַּע רִבֹּוא אַלְפַּיִם שְׁלֹשׁ־מֵאֹות שִׁשִּׁים | 64 The whole assembly together was forty-two thousand three hundred and sixty, |
| 65 מִלְּבַד עַבְדֵיהֶם וְאַמְהֹתֵיהֶם אֵלֶּה שִׁבְעַת אֲלָפִים שְׁלֹשׁ מֵאֹות שְׁלֹשִׁים וְשִׁבְעָה וְלָהֶם מְשֹׁרְרִים וּמְשֹׁרְרֹות מָאתָיִם | 65 besides their menservants and maidservants, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred and thirty-seven; and they had two hundred male and female singers. |
| 66 סוּסֵיהֶם שְׁבַע מֵאֹות שְׁלֹשִׁים וְשִׁשָּׁה פִּרְדֵיהֶם מָאתַיִם אַרְבָּעִים וַחֲמִשָּׁה | 66 Their horses were seven hundred and thirty-six, their mules were two hundred and forty-five, |
| 67 גְּמַלֵּיהֶם אַרְבַּע מֵאֹות שְׁלֹשִׁים וַחֲמִשָּׁה חֲמֹרִים שֵׁשֶׁת אֲלָפִים שְׁבַע מֵאֹות וְעֶשְׂרִים׃ פ | 67 their camels were four hundred and thirty-five, and their asses were six thousand seven hundred and twenty. |
| 68 וּמֵרָאשֵׁי הָאָבֹות בְּבֹואָם לְבֵית יְהוָה אֲשֶׁר בִּירוּשָׁלִָם הִתְנַדְּבוּ לְבֵית הָאֱלֹהִים לְהַעֲמִידֹו עַל־מְכֹונֹו | 68 Some of the heads of families, when they came to the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem, made freewill offerings for the house of God, to erect it on its site; |
| 69 כְּכֹחָם נָתְנוּ לְאֹוצַר הַמְּלָאכָה זָהָב דַּרְכְּמֹונִים שֵׁשׁ־רִבֹּאות וָאֶלֶף ס וְכֶסֶף מָנִים חֲמֵשֶׁת אֲלָפִים וְכָתְנֹת כֹּהֲנִים מֵאָה׃ ס | 69 according to their ability they gave to the treasury of the work sixty-one thousand darics of gold, five thousand minas of silver, and one hundred priests' garments. |
| 70 וַיֵּשְׁבוּ הַכֹּהֲנִים וְהַלְוִיִּם וּמִן־הָעָם וְהַמְשֹׁרְרִים וְהַשֹּׁועֲרִים וְהַנְּתִינִים בְּעָרֵיהֶם וְכָל־יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּעָרֵיהֶם׃ ס | 70 The priests, the Levites, and some of the people lived in Jerusalem and its vicinity; and the singers, the gatekeepers, and the temple servants lived in their towns, and all Israel in their towns. |
