SAGRADA BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 De Davi. Quando simulou alienação na presença de Abimelec e, despedido por ele, partiu. Bendirei continuamente ao Senhor, seu louvor não deixará meus lábios.	1 [Of David, when he had feigned insanity before Abimelech, and Abimelech sent him away] I wil blessYahweh at al times, his praise continual y on my lips.
2 Glorie-se a minha alma no Senhor; ouçam-me os humildes, e se alegrem.	2 I will praise Yahweh from my heart; let the humble hear and rejoice.
3 Glorificai comigo ao Senhor, juntos exaltemos o seu nome.	3 Proclaim with me the greatness of Yahweh, let us acclaim his name together.
4 Procurei o Senhor e ele me atendeu, livrou-me de todos os temores.	4 I seek Yahweh and he answers me, frees me from al my fears.
5 Olhai para ele a fim de vos alegrardes, e não se cobrir de vergonha o vosso rosto.	5 Fix your gaze on Yahweh and your face wil grow bright, you wil never hang your head in shame.
6 Vede, este miserável clamou e o Senhor o ouviu, de todas as angústias o livrou.	6 A pauper calls out and Yahweh hears, saves him from all his troubles.
7 O anjo do Senhor acampa em redor dos que o temem, e os salva.	7 The angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and rescues them.
8 Provai e vede como o Senhor é bom, feliz o homem que se refugia junto dele.	8 Taste and see that Yahweh is good. How blessed are those who take refuge in him.
9 Reverenciai o Senhor, vós, seus fiéis, porque nada falta àqueles que o temem.	9 Fear Yahweh, you his holy ones; those who fear him lack for nothing.
10 Os poderosos empobrecem e passam fome, mas aos que buscam o Senhor nada lhes falta.	10 Young lions may go needy and hungry, but those who seek Yahweh lack nothing good.
11 Vinde, meus filhos, ouvi-me: eu vos ensinarei o temor do Senhor.	11 Come, my children, listen to me, I wil teach you the fear of Yahweh.
12 Qual é o homem que ama a vida, e deseja longos dias para gozar de felicidade?	12 Who among you delights in life, longs for time to enjoy prosperity?
13 Guarda tua língua do mal, e teus lábios das palavras enganosas.	13 Guard your tongue from evil, your lips from any breath of deceit.
14 Aparta-te do mal e faze o bem, busca a paz e vai ao seu encalço.	14 Turn away from evil and do good, seek peace and pursue it.
15 Os olhos do Senhor estão voltados para os justos, e seus ouvidos atentos aos seus clamores.	15 The eyes of Yahweh are on the upright, his ear turned to their cry.
16 O Senhor volta a sua face irritada contra os que fazem o mal, para apagar da terra a lembrança deles.	16 But Yahweh's face is set against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth.
17 Apenas clamaram os justos, o Senhor os atendeu e os livrou de todas as suas angústias.	17 They cry in anguish and Yahweh hears, and rescues them from al their troubles.
18 O Senhor está perto dos contritos de coração, e salva os que têm o espírito abatido.	18 Yahweh is near to the broken-hearted, he helps those whose spirit is crushed.
19 São numerosas as tribulações do justo, mas de todas o livra o Senhor.	19 Though hardships without number beset the upright, Yahweh brings rescue from them all.
20 Ele protege cada um de seus ossos, nem um só deles será quebrado.	20 Yahweh takes care of all their bones, not one of them wil be broken.
21 A malícia do ímpio o leva à morte, e os que odeiam o justo serão castigados.	21 But to the wicked evil brings death, those who hate the upright wil pay the penalty.
22 O Senhor livra a alma de seus servos; não será punido quem a ele se acolhe.	22 Yahweh ransoms the lives of those who serve him, and there wil be no penalty for those who takerefuge in him.
