LA SACRA BIBBIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Abbi pietà di noi, o Signore, Dio di tutte le cose, e manda il tuo terrore su tutte le nazioni.	1 Take pity on us, Master, Lord of the universe, look at us, spread fear of yourself throughout al othernations.
2 Leva la tua mano contro le nazioni straniere, perché vedano la tua potenza.	2 Raise your hand against the foreign nations and let them see your might.
3 Come davanti a loro hai mostrato in noi la tua santità, così davanti a noi mostra in loro la tua potenza.	3 As, in their sight, you have proved yourself holy to us, so now, in our sight, prove yourself great to them.
4 Riconoscano te come noi ti abbiamo riconosciuto, perché non c'è Dio al di fuori di te, o Signore.	4 Let them acknowledge you, just as we have acknowledged that there is no God but you, Lord.
5 Rinnova i segni e ripeti i miracoli, glorifica la tua mano ed il tuo braccio destro.	5 Send new portents, do fresh wonders, win glory for your hand and your right arm.
6 Desta il tuo furore e riversa la tua ira, distruggi l'avversario e stermina il nemico.	6 Rouse your fury, pour out your rage, destroy the opponent, annihilate the enemy.
7 Accèlera i tempi e ricòrdati del giuramento, perché si raccontino i tuoi prodigi.	7 Hasten the day, remember the oath, and let people tell of your mighty deeds.
8 Nel fuoco dell'ira si consumi chi era stato risparmiato, quanti maltrattano il tuo popolo trovino la perdizione.	8 Let fiery wrath swal ow up the survivor, and destruction overtake those who oppress your people.
9 Stritola le teste dei prìncipi stranieri che dicono: "Non c'è nessuno al di fuori di noi".	9 Crush the heads of hostile rulers who say, 'There is no one else but us!'
10 Raccogli tutte le tribù di Giacobbe e prendine possesso come una volta.	10 Gather together all the tribes of Jacob, restore them their heritage as at the beginning.
11 Abbi pietà, Signore, del popolo chiamato col tuo nome, d'Israele, che hai adottato come primo nato.	11 Take pity, Lord, on the people cal ed by your name, on Israel whom you have made your first-born.
12 Abbi compassione della città del tuo santuario, di Gerusalemme, luogo del tuo riposo.	12 Have compassion on your holy city, on Jerusalem, the place where you rest.
13 Riempi Sion con la lode delle tue grandi imprese e il tuo tempio con la tua gloria.	13 Fil Zion with your praises and your sanctuary with your glory.
14 Riconosci ora quelli che hai creato in origine e suscita le profezie che furono fatte nel tuo nome.	14 Vindicate those whom you created first, fulfil what has been prophesied in your name.
15 Da' la ricompensa a quanti ti attendono, per dare ragione ai tuoi profeti.	15 Give those who wait for you their reward, let your prophets be proved true.
16 Esaudisci, Signore, la supplica dei tuoi servi per la benevolenza che hai con il tuo popolo.	16 Grant, Lord, the prayer of your servants, in the terms of Aaron's blessing on your people,
17 Riconoscano tutti sopra la terra che tu, Signore, sei il Dio dei secoli.	17 so that al the earth's inhabitants may acknowledge that you are the Lord, the everlasting God.
18 Lo stomaco mangia ogni cibo, ma qualche cibo piace più dell'altro.	18 The stomach takes in all kinds of food, but some foods are better than others.
19 Come la gola sente il sapore della selvaggina, così il cuore che riflette, le parole bugiarde.	19 As the palate discerns the flavour of game, so a shrewd listener detects lying words.
20 Il cuore perverso darà dolore, ma l'uomo sperimentato lo ricambierà.	20 A perverse character causes depression in others; it needs experience to know how to repay such aone.
21 La donna può accettare qualsiasi marito, ma una moglie non è uguale all'altra.	21 A woman wil accept any husband, but some daughters are better than others.
