1 Abbi pietà di noi, o Signore, Dio di tutte le cose, e manda il tuo terrore su tutte le nazioni.	1 Come to our aid, O God of the universe, and put all the nations in dread of you!
2 Leva la tua mano contro le nazioni straniere, perché vedano la tua potenza.	2 Raise your hand against the heathen, that they may realize your power.
3 Come davanti a loro hai mostrato in noi la tua santità, così davanti a noi mostra in loro la tua potenza.	3 As you have used us to show them your holiness, so now use them to show us your glory.
4 Riconoscano te come noi ti abbiamo riconosciuto, perché non c'è Dio al di fuori di te, o Signore.	4 Thus they will know, as we know, that there is no God but you.
5 Rinnova i segni e ripeti i miracoli, glorifica la tua mano ed il tuo braccio destro.	5 Give new signs and work new wonders; show forth the splendor of your right hand and arm;
6 Desta il tuo furore e riversa la tua ira, distruggi l'avversario e stermina il nemico.	6 Rouse your anger, pour out wrath, humble the enemy, scatter the foe.
7 Accèlera i tempi e ricòrdati del giuramento, perché si raccontino i tuoi prodigi.	7 Hasten the day, bring on the time;
8 Nel fuoco dell'ira si consumi chi era stato risparmiato, quanti maltrattano il tuo popolo trovino la perdizione.	8 Let raging fire consume the fugitive, and your people's oppressors meet destruction.
9 Stritola le teste dei prìncipi stranieri che dicono: "Non c'è nessuno al di fuori di noi".	9 crush the heads of the hostile rulers.
10 Raccogli tutte le tribù di Giacobbe e prendine possesso come una volta.	10 Gather all the tribes of Jacob, that they may inherit the land as of old,
11 Abbi pietà, Signore, del popolo chiamato col tuo nome, d'Israele, che hai adottato come primo nato.	11 Show mercy to the people called by your name; Israel, whom you named your first-born.
12 Abbi compassione della città del tuo santuario, di Gerusalemme, luogo del tuo riposo.	12 Take pity on your holy city, Jerusalem, your dwelling place.
13 Riempi Sion con la lode delle tue grandi imprese e il tuo tempio con la tua gloria.	13 Fill Zion with your majesty, your temple with your glory.
14 Riconosci ora quelli che hai creato in origine e suscita le profezie che furono fatte nel tuo nome.	14 Give evidence of your deeds of old; fulfill the prophecies spoken in your name,
15 Da' la ricompensa a quanti ti attendono, per dare ragione ai tuoi profeti.	15 Reward those who have hoped in you, and let your prophets be proved true.
16 Esaudisci, Signore, la supplica dei tuoi servi per la benevolenza che hai con il tuo popolo.	16 Hear the prayer of your servants, for you are ever gracious to your people;
17 Riconoscano tutti sopra la terra che tu, Signore, sei il Dio dei secoli.	17 Thus it will be known to the very ends of the earth that you are the eternal God.
18 Lo stomaco mangia ogni cibo, ma qualche cibo piace più dell'altro.	18 The throat can swallow any food, yet some foods are more agreeable than others;
19 Come la gola sente il sapore della selvaggina, così il cuore che riflette, le parole bugiarde.	19 As the palate tests meat by its savor, so does a keen mind insincere words.
20 Il cuore perverso darà dolore, ma l'uomo sperimentato lo ricambierà.	20 A deceitful character causes grief, but an experienced man can turn the tables on him.
21 La donna può accettare qualsiasi marito, ma una moglie non è uguale all'altra.	21 Though any man may be accepted as a husband, yet one girl will be more suitable than another:
22 La bellezza d'una donna rallegra il volto, supera ogni altro desiderio dell'uomo.	22 A woman's beauty makes her husband's face light up, for it surpasses all else that charms the eye;
23 Se nella sua lingua c'è bontà e gentilezza, suo marito non è come gli altri uomini.	23 And if, besides, her speech is kindly, his lot is beyond that of mortal men.
24 Chi prende moglie comincia la sua fortuna, ha un aiuto che gli è simile e una colonna d'appoggio.	24 A wife is her husband's richest treasure, a helpmate, a steadying column.
25 Dove manca la siepe, la proprietà è saccheggiata, così dove non c'è moglie, l'uomo erra e geme.	25 A vineyard with no hedge will be overrun; a man with no wife becomes a homeless wanderer.
26 Chi avrà fiducia in un soldato girovago, che passa da una città all'altra?	26 Who will trust an armed band that shifts from city to city?
27 Così è per l'uomo che non ha un nido e che alloggia là dove sopraggiunge la sera.	27 Or a man who has no nest, but lodges where night overtakes him?
