Isaiah 20

NEW JERUSALEM	NOVA VULGATA
1 The year the general-in-chief, sent by Sargon king of Assyria, came to Ashdod and stormed andcaptured it	1 In anno quo ingressus est Tharthan in Azotum, cum misisset eum Sargonrex Assyriorum, et pugnasset contra Azotum et cepisset eam,
2 at that time Yahweh spoke through Isaiah son of Amoz and said, 'Go, undo the sackcloth round yourwaist and take the sandals off your feet.' And he did so, and walked about, naked and barefoot.	2 in tempore illolocutus est Dominus in manu Isaiae filii Amos dicens: “ Vade et solve saccumde lumbis tuis et calceamenta tua tolle de pedibus tuis ”. Et fecit sic,vadens nudus et discalceatus.
3 Yahweh then said, 'As my servant Isaiah has been walking about naked and barefoot for the last threeyears as a sign and portent for Egypt and Cush,	3 Et dixit Dominus: “ Sicut ambulavit servusmeus Isaias nudus et discalceatus tribus annis signum et portentum superAegyptum et super Aethiopiam,
4 so the king of Assyria wil lead the captives of Egypt and the exiles of Cush, young and old, naked andbarefoot, their buttocks bared, to the shame of Egypt.	4 sic minabit rex Assyriorum captivos Aegypti etexsules Aethiopiae, iuvenes et senes, nudos et discalceatos, discoopertisnatibus ad ignominiam Aegypti.
5 Then they wil be afraid and ashamed of Cush their hope and Egypt their pride,	5 Et timebunt et confundentur ab Aethiopia spesua et ab Aegypto gloria sua.
6 and the inhabitants of this coast will say on that day, "Look what has happened to our hope, to those towhom we fled for help, to escape from the king of Assyria. How are we going to escape?" '	6 Et dicet habitator maritimae regionis huius indie illa: “Ecce, haec erat spes nostra, quo confugimus in auxilium, utliberaremur a facie regis Assyriorum; et quomodo effugere poterimus nos?” ”.
