Isaiah 20

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 The year the general-in-chief, sent by Sargon king of Assyria, came to Ashdod and stormed andcaptured it	1 El año en que el general en jefe enviado por Sargón, rey de Asiria, llegó a Asdod, la atacó y la tomó,
2 at that time Yahweh spoke through Isaiah son of Amoz and said, 'Go, undo the sackcloth round yourwaist and take the sandals off your feet.' And he did so, and walked about, naked and barefoot.	2 en ese mismo tiempo, el Señor habló por medio de Isaías, hijo de Amós, diciendo: «Ve, despójate del sayal que llevas ceñido, y quítate las sandalias de los pies». El lo hizo así, y anduvo desnudo y descalzo.
3 Yahweh then said, 'As my servant Isaiah has been walking about naked and barefoot for the last threeyears as a sign and portent for Egypt and Cush,	3 El Señor dijo: «Así como mi servidor Isaías anduvo desnudo y descalzo durante tres años, como signo y presagio contra Egipto y contra Cus.
4 so the king of Assyria wil lead the captives of Egypt and the exiles of Cush, young and old, naked andbarefoot, their buttocks bared, to the shame of Egypt.	4 así el rey de Asiria llevará desnudos y descalzos, y con las nalgas al aire, a los cautivos de Egipto y a los deportados de Cus, jóvenes y viejos, para vergüenza de Egipto.
5 Then they wil be afraid and ashamed of Cush their hope and Egypt their pride,	5 La gente sentirá terror y vergüenza a causa de Cus, su esperanza, y a causa de Egipto, su orgullo.
6 and the inhabitants of this coast will say on that day, "Look what has happened to our hope, to those towhom we fled for help, to escape from the king of Assyria. How are we going to escape?" '	6 Y los habitantes de esta costa dirán en aquel día: «¡Ahí está nuestra esperanza, a la que acudíamos en busca de auxilio, para ser librados del rey de Asiria! Y ahora nosotros ¿cómo podremos escapar?».
