1 Oracle on Tyre: Wail, O ships of Tarshish, for your port is destroyed; From the land of the Kittim the news reaches them.	1 Oracolo su Tiro. Gemete, o navi di Tarsis, perché è stata devastata, senza lasciarvi una casa. Al ritorno dal paese dei Kittìm, è stata data loro la notizia.
2 Silence! you who dwell on the coast, you merchants of Sidon, Whose messengers crossed the sea	2 Silenzio, o abitanti della costa, commercianti di Sidone! I tuoi messaggeri solcavano il mare
3 over the deep waters. The grain of Shihor, the harvest of the Nile, was her revenue, and she the merchant among nations.	3 dalle immense acque. Il grano del Nilo, il raccolto del fiume erano la sua ricchezza ed era diventato il mercato delle nazioni.
4 Shame, O Sidon, fortress on the sea, for the sea has spoken: "I have not been in labor, nor given birth, nor raised young men, nor reared virgins."	4 Vergògnati, o Sidone, perché il mare dice: "Non ho avuto le doglie, non ho generato, non ho allevato giovani né cresciuto vergini".
5 When it is heard in Egypt they shall be in anguish at the news of Tyre.	5 Quando la notizia giungerà in Egitto, fremeranno alla notizia su Tiro.
6 Pass over to Tarshish, wailing, you who dwell on the coast!	6 Traversate il mare fino a Tarsis, gemete, o abitanti della costa!
7 Is this your wanton city, whose origin is from old, Whose feet have taken her to dwell in distant lands?	7 E' questa la vostra città gaudente, la cui antichità rimonta a giorni lontani? I suoi piedi la portavano lontano a fissarvi il soggiorno.
8 Who has planned such a thing against Tyre, the bestower of crowns, Whose merchants are princes, whose traders are the earth's honored men?	8 Chi ha deciso questo contro Tiro, la coronata, i cui commercianti erano prìncipi e i cui negozianti i più grandi della terra?
9 The LORD of hosts has planned it, to disgrace all pride of majesty, to degrade all the earth's honored men.	9 Il Signore degli eserciti lo ha deciso, per umiliare l'orgoglio di tutto il suo splendore, per umiliare tutti i grandi della terra.
10 Cross to your own land, O ship of Tarshish; the harbor is no more.	10 Coltiva il tuo suolo, o figlia di Tarsis, il porto non esiste più!
11 His hand he stretches out over the sea, he shakes kingdoms; The LORD has ordered the destruction of Canaan's strongholds.	11 Hai disteso la tua mano verso il mare, hai fatto tremare i regni. Il Signore ha ordinato a proposito di Canaan di distruggere le fortezze.
12 You shall exult no more, he says, you who are now oppressed, virgin daughter Sidon. Arise, pass over to the Kittim, even there you shall find no rest.	12 E disse: "Non continuerai più a trionfare, o vergine violentata, figlia di Sidone! A'lzati, passa dai Kittìm! Anche lì non troverai riposo".
13 (This people is the land of the Chaldeans, not Assyria.) She whom the impious founded, setting up towers for her, Has had her castles destroyed, and has been turned into a ruin.	13 Ecco il paese dei Caldei: questo popolo non esisteva. L'Assiro lo assegnò alle bestie selvatiche; essi innalzarono le loro torri, abbatterono i suoi bastioni, la ridussero in rovina.
14 Lament, O ships of Tarshish, for your haven is destroyed.	14 Urlate, o navi di Tarsis, perché il vostro rifugio è distrutto.
15 On that day, Tyre shall be forgotten for seventy years. With the days of another king, at the end of seventy years, it shall be for Tyre as in the song about the harlot:	15 In quel giorno Tiro sarà dimenticata per settant'anni, quanti sono i giorni di un re. Trascorsi settant'anni, Tiro diventerà come la prostituta della canzone:
16 Take a harp, go about the city, O forgotten harlot; Pluck the strings skillfully, sing many songs, that they may remember you.	16 "Prendi la cetra, percorri la città, o prostituta dimenticata! Suona con destrezza, moltiplica i tuoi canti per poter essere ricordata!".
17 At the end of the seventy years the LORD shall visit Tyre. She shall return to her hire and deal with all the world's kingdoms on the face of the earth.	17 Dopo settant'anni il Signore visiterà Tiro, che ritornerà al suo guadagno. Si prostituirà con tutti i regni del mondo sulla faccia della terra.
18 But her merchandise and her hire shall be sacred to the LORD. It shall not be stored up or laid away, but from her merchandise those who dwell before the LORD shall eat their fill and clothe themselves in choice attire.	18 Il suo salario e la sua rimunerazione saranno consacrati al Signore. Non sarà ammassato né conservato nel tesoro, perché il suo salario sarà destinato a quelli che dimorano al cospetto del Signore, perché mangino a sazietà e vestano splendidamente.
