1 Oracle on Tyre: Wail, O ships of Tarshish, for your port is destroyed; From the land of the Kittim the news reaches them.	1 Oracolo su Tiro. Fate il lamento, navi di Tarsis, perché è stato distrutto il vostro rifugio! Mentre tornavano dal paese dei Kittim, ne fu data loro notizia.
2 Silence! you who dwell on the coast, you merchants of Sidon, Whose messengers crossed the sea	2 Ammutolite, abitanti della costa, mercanti di Sidòne, i cui agenti attraversavano
3 over the deep waters. The grain of Shihor, the harvest of the Nile, was her revenue, and she the merchant among nations.	3 grandi acque. Il frumento del Nilo, il raccolto del fiume era la sua ricchezza; era il mercato dei popoli.

6 Pass over to Tarshish, wailing, you who dwell on the coast!	6 Passate in Tarsis, fate il lamento, abitanti della costa.
7 Is this your wanton city, whose origin is from old, Whose feet have taken her to dwell in distant lands?	7 È questa la vostra città gaudente, le cui origini risalgono a un'antichità remota, i cui piedi la portavano lontano per fissarvi dimore?

9 The LORD of hosts has planned it, to disgrace all pride of majesty, to degrade all the earth's honored men.	9 Il Signore degli eserciti lo ha deciso per svergognare l'orgoglio di tutto il suo fasto, per umiliare i più nobili sulla terra.
10 Cross to your own land, O ship of Tarshish; the harbor is no more.	10 Coltiva la tua terra come il Nilo, figlia di Tarsis; il porto non esiste più.
11 His hand he stretches out over the sea, he shakes kingdoms; The LORD has ordered the destruction of Canaan's strongholds.	11 Ha steso la mano verso il mare, ha sconvolto i regni, il Signore ha decretato per Canaan di abbattere le sue fortezze.
12 You shall exult no more, he says, you who are now oppressed, virgin daughter Sidon. Arise, pass over to the Kittim, even there you shall find no rest.	12 Egli ha detto: "Non continuerai a far baldoria, tu duramente oppressa, vergine figlia di Sidòne. Alzati, va' pure dai Kittim; neppure là ci sarà pace per te".
13 (This people is the land of the Chaldeans, not Assyria.) She whom the impious founded, setting up towers for her, Has had her castles destroyed, and has been turned into a ruin.	13 Ecco il paese da lui fondato per marinai, che ne avevano innalzato le torri; ne han demoliti i palazzi: egli l'ha ridotto a un cumulo di rovine.
14 Lament, O ships of Tarshish, for your haven is destroyed.	14 Fate il lamento, navi di Tarsis, perché è stato distrutto il vostro rifugio.
15 On that day, Tyre shall be forgotten for seventy years. With the days of another king, at the end of seventy years, it shall be for Tyre as in the song about the harlot:	15 In quel giorno Tiro sarà dimenticata per settant'anni, quanti sono gli anni di un re. Alla fine dei settanta anni a Tiro si applicherà la canzone della prostituta:
16 Take a harp, go about the city, O forgotten harlot; Pluck the strings skillfully, sing many songs, that they may remember you.	16 "Prendi la cetra,gira per la città, prostituta dimenticata; suona con abilità, moltiplica i canti, perché qualcuno si ricordi di te".
17 At the end of the seventy years the LORD shall visit Tyre. She shall return to her hire and deal with all the world's kingdoms on the face of the earth.	17 Ma alla fine dei settant'anni il Signore visiterà Tiro, che ritornerà ai suoi guadagni; essa trescherà con tutti i regni del mondo sulla terra.
18 But her merchandise and her hire shall be sacred to the LORD. It shall not be stored up or laid away, but from her merchandise those who dwell before the LORD shall eat their fill and clothe themselves in choice attire.	18 Il suo salario e il suo guadagno saranno sacri al Signore. Non sarà ammassato né custodito il suo salario, ma andrà a coloro che abitano presso il Signore, perché possano nutrirsi in abbondanza e vestirsi con decoro.
