1 לכן אחי הקדושים חברים לקריאה של מעלה הביטו אל השליח וכהן הודיתנו הגדול אל המשיח ישוע	1 That is why al you who are holy brothers and share the same heavenly cal should turn your minds toJesus, the apostle and the high priest of our profession of faith.
2 אשר הוא נאמן לעשהו כמו גם משה בכל ביתו	2 He was trustworthy to the one who appointed him, just like Moses, who remained trustworthy in all hishousehold;
3 כי כבוד גדול ממשה נחל זה כאשר בנה הבית חשוב יותר מן הבית	3 but he deserves a greater glory than Moses, just as the builder of a house is more honoured than thehouse itself.
4 כי כל בית יש לו בנה אבל בונה כל הוא האלהים	4 Every house is built by someone, of course; but God built everything that exists.
5 והן משה נאמן בכל ביתו כעבד לעדות העמדות להאמר	5 It is true that Moses was trustworthy in the household of God, as a servant is, acting as witness to thethings which were yet to be revealed,
6 אבל המשיח הוא הבן על ביתו ואנחנו ביתו אם נחזיק בבטחון ובתהלת התקוה ולא נרפנה עד הקץ	6 but Christ is trustworthy as a son is, over his household. And we are his household, as long as wefearlessly maintain the hope in which we glory.
7 לכן כמאמר רוח הקדש היום אם בקלו תשמעו	7 That is why, as the Holy Spirit says: If only you would listen to him today!
8 אל תקשו לבבכם כמריבה כיום מסה במדבר	8 Do not harden your hearts, as at the rebel ion, as at the time of testing in the desert,
9 אשר נסוני אבותיכם בחנוני גם ראו פעלי ארבעים שנה	9 when your ancestors chal enged me, and put me to the test, and saw what I could do
10 לכן אקוט בדור ואמר עם תעי לבב הם והם לא ידעו דרכי	10 for forty years. That was why that generation sickened me and I said, 'Always fickle hearts, thatcannot grasp my ways!'
11 אשר נשבעתי באפי אם יבאון אל מנוחתי	11 And then in my anger I swore that they would never enter my place of rest.
12 ראו עתה אחי פן יש באחד מכם לב רע וחסר אמונה לסור מאלהים חיים	12 Take care, brothers, that none of you ever has a wicked heart, so unbelieving as to turn away from theliving God.
13 אך הוכח תוכיחו איש את רעהו יום יום עד שיקרא היום למען אשר לא יקשה איש מכם את לבו במדוחי פשע	13 Every day, as long as this today lasts, keep encouraging one another so that none of you is hardenedby the lure of sin,
14 כי נתחברנו למשיח אם נחזיק בראשית הבטחה ולא נרפנה עד הקץ	14 because we have been granted a share with Christ only if we keep the grasp of our first confidencefirm to the end.
15 כאשר נאמר היום אם בקלו תשמעו אל תקשו לבבכם כמריבה	15 In this saying: If only you would listen to him today; do not harden your hearts, as at the Rebel ion,
16 מי אפוא אלה אשר שמעו ויריבו הלא כל יצאי מצרים ביד משה	16 who was it who listened and then rebelled? Surely al those whom Moses led out of Egypt.
17 ובמי התקוטט ארבעים שנה הלא בחטאים אשר נפלו פגריהם במדבר	17 And with whom was he angry for forty years? Surely with those who sinned and whose dead bodiesfel in the desert.
18 ולמי נשבע לבלתי בא אל מנוחתו אם לא לסוררים	18 To whom did he swear they would never enter his place of rest? Surely those who would not believe.
19 ואנחנו ראים כי לא יכלו לבוא על אשר לא האמינו	19 So we see that it was their refusal to believe which prevented them from entering.
