Apocalypse 3

JERUSALEM	NEW JERUSALEM
1 "A l'Ange de l'Eglise de Sardes, écris: Ainsi parle celui qui possède les sept Esprits de Dieu etles sept étoiles. Je connais ta conduite; tu passes pour vivant, mais tu es mort.	1 'Write to the angel of the church in Sardis and say, "Here is the message of the one who holds theseven spirits of God and the seven stars: I know about your behaviour: how you are reputed to be alive and yetare dead.
2 Réveille-toi, ranime ce qui te reste de vie défaillante! Non, je n'ai pas trouvé ta vie bien pleineaux yeux de mon Dieu.	2 Wake up; put some resolve into what little vigour you have left: it is dying fast. So far I have failed tonotice anything in your behaviour that my God could possibly cal perfect;
3 Allons! rappelle-toi comment tu accueillis la parole; garde-la et repens-toi. Car si tu ne veillespas, je viendrai comme un voleur sans que tu saches à quelle heure je te surprendrai.	3 remember how you first heard the message. Hold on to that. Repent! If you do not wake up, I shalcome to you like a thief, and you wil have no idea at what hour I shal come upon you.
4 A Sardes, néanmoins, quelques-uns des tiens n'ont pas souillé leurs vêtements; ilsm'accompagneront, en blanc, car ils en sont dignes.	4 There are a few in Sardis, it is true, who have kept their robes unstained, and they are fit to come withme, dressed in white.
5 Le vainqueur sera donc revêtu de blanc; et son nom, je ne l'effacerai pas du livre de vie, maisj'en répondrai devant mon Père et devant ses Anges.	5 Anyone who proves victorious wil be dressed, like these, in white robes; I shal not blot that name outof the book of life, but acknowledge it in the presence of my Father and his angels.
6 Celui qui a des oreilles, qu'il entende ce que l'Esprit dit aux Eglises.	6 Let anyone who can hear, listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches."
7 "A l'Ange de l'Eglise de Philadelphie, écris: Ainsi parle le Saint, le Vrai, celui qui détient la clefde David: s'il ouvre, nul ne fermera, et s'il ferme, nul n'ouvrira.	7 'Write to the angel of the church in Philadelphia and say, "Here is the message of the holy and true onewho has the key of David, so that when he opens, no one wil close, and when he closes, no one wil open:
8 Je connais ta conduite: voici, j'ai ouvert devant toi une porte que nul ne peut fermer, et,disposant pourtant de peu de puissance, tu as gardé ma parole sans renier mon nom.	8 I know about your activities. Look, I have opened in front of you a door that no one will be able to close-- and I know that though you are not very strong, you have kept my commandments and not disowned myname.
9 Voici, je forcerai ceux de la Synagogue de Satan - ils usurpent la qualité de Juifs, les menteurs--, oui, je les forcerai à venir se prosterner devant tes pieds, à reconnaître que je t'ai aimé.	9 Look, I am going to make the synagogue of Satan -- those who falsely claim to be Jews, but are liars,because they are no such thing -- I wil make them come and fal at your feet and recognize that I have lovedyou.
10 Puisque tu as gardé ma consigne de constance, à mon tour je te garderai de l'heure de l'épreuvequi va fondre sur le monde entier pour éprouver les habitants de la terre.	10 Because you have kept my commandment to persevere, I wil keep you safe in the time of trial whichis coming for the whole world, to put the people of the world to the test.
11 Mon retour est proche: tiens ferme ce que tu as, pour que nul ne ravisse ta couronne.	11 I am coming soon: hold firmly to what you already have, and let no one take your victor's crown awayfrom you.
12 Le vainqueur, je le ferai colonne dans le temple de mon Dieu; il n'en sortira plus jamais et jegraverai sur lui le nom de mon Dieu, et le nom de la Cité de mon Dieu, la nouvelle Jérusalem qui descend duCiel, de chez mon Dieu, et le nom nouveau que je porte.	12 Anyone who proves victorious I wil make into a pillar in the sanctuary of my God, and it wil stay therefor ever; I wil inscribe on it the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem which is coming down from my God in heaven, and my own new name as wel .
13 Celui qui a des oreilles, qu'il entende ce que l'Esprit dit aux Eglises.	13 Let anyone who can hear, listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches."
14 "A l'Ange de l'Eglise de Laodicée, écris: Ainsi parle l'Amen, le Témoin fidèle et vrai, lePrincipe de la création de Dieu.	14 'Write to the angel of the church in Laodicea and say, "Here is the message of the Amen, thetrustworthy, the true witness, the Principle of God's creation:
15 Je connais ta conduite: tu n'es ni froid ni chaud - que n'es-tu l'un ou l'autre! --	15 I know about your activities: how you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were one or the other,
16 Ainsi, puisque te voilà tiède, ni chaud ni froid, je vais te vomir de ma bouche.	16 but since you are neither hot nor cold, but only lukewarm, I will spit you out of my mouth.
17 Tu t'imagines: me voilà riche, je me suis enrichi et je n'ai besoin de rien; mais tu ne le voisdonc pas: c'est toi qui es malheureux, pitoyable, pauvre, aveugle et nu!	17 You say to yourself: I am rich, I have made a fortune and have everything I want, never realising thatyou are wretchedly and pitiably poor, and blind and naked too.
18 Aussi, suis donc mon conseil: achète chez moi de l'or purifié au feu pour t'enrichir; des habitsblancs pour t'en revêtir et cacher la honte de ta nudité; un collyre enfin pour t'en oindre les yeux et recouvrer lavue.	18 I warn you, buy from me the gold that has been tested in the fire to make you truly rich, and whiterobes to clothe you and hide your shameful nakedness, and ointment to put on your eyes to enable you to see.
19 Ceux que j'aime, je les semonce et les corrige. Allons! Un peu d'ardeur, et repens-toi!	19 I reprove and train those whom I love: so repent in real earnest.
20 Voici, je me tiens à la porte et je frappe; si quelqu'un entend ma voix et ouvre la porte,j'entrerai chez lui pour souper, moi près de lui et lui près de moi.	20 Look, I am standing at the door, knocking. If one of you hears me cal ing and opens the door, I wilcome in to share a meal at that person's side.
21 Le vainqueur, je lui donnerai de siéger avec moi sur mon trône, comme moi-même, après mavictoire, j'ai siégé avec mon Père sur son trône.	21 Anyone who proves victorious I wil al ow to share my throne, just as I have myself overcome andhave taken my seat with my Father on his throne.
22 Celui qui a des oreilles, qu'il entende ce que l'Esprit dit aux Eglises."	22 Let anyone who can hear, listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches." '
