JERUSALEM	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 "Que votre coeur ne se trouble pas! vous croyez en Dieu, croyez aussi en moi.	1 "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me.
2 Dans la maison de mon Père, il y a de nombreuses demeures; sinon, je vous l'aurais dit; je vais vouspréparer une place.	2 In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
3 Et quand je serai allé et que je vous aurai préparé une place, à nouveau je viendrai et je vous prendraiprès de moi, afin que, là où je suis, vous aussi, vous soyez.	3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you also may be.
4 Et du lieu où je vais, vous savez le chemin."	4 Where (I) am going you know the way."
5 Thomas lui dit: "Seigneur, nous ne savons pas où tu vas. Comment saurions-nous le chemin?"	5 Thomas said to him, "Master, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?"
6 Jésus lui dit: "Je suis le Chemin, la Vérité et la Vie. Nul ne vient au Père que par moi.	6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
7 Si vous me connaissez, vous connaîtrez aussi mon Père; dès à présent vous le connaissez et vousl'avez vu."	7 If you know me, then you will also know my Father. From now on you do know him and have seen him."
8 Philippe lui dit: "Seigneur, montre-nous le Père et cela nous suffit."	8 Philip said to him, "Master, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us."
9 Jésus lui dit: "Voilà si longtemps que je suis avec vous, et tu ne me connais pas, Philippe? Qui m'a vua vu le Père. Comment peux-tu dire: Montre-nous le Père!?	9 Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you for so long a time and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'?
10 Ne crois-tu pas que je suis dans le Père et que le Père est en moi? Les paroles que je vous dis, je neles dis pas de moi-même: mais le Père demeurant en moi fait ses oeuvres.	10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on my own. The Father who dwells in me is doing his works.
11 Croyez-m'en! je suis dans le Père et le Père est en moi. Croyez du moins à cause des oeuvres mêmes.	11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else, believe because of the works themselves.
12 En vérité, en vérité, je vous le dis, celui qui croit en moi fera, lui aussi, les oeuvres que je fais; et ilen fera même de plus grandes, parce que je vais vers le Père.	12 Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes in me will do the works that I do, and will do greater ones than these, because I am going to the Father.
13 Et tout ce que vous demanderez en mon nom, je le ferai, afin que le Père soit glorifié dans le Fils.	13 And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 Si vous me demandez quelque chose en mon nom, je le ferai.	14 If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it.
15 Si vous m'aimez, vous garderez mes commandements;	15 "If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
16 et je prierai le Père et il vous donnera un autre Paraclet, pour qu'il soit avec vous à jamais,	16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always,
17 l'Esprit de Vérité, que le monde ne peut pas recevoir, parce qu'il ne le voit pas ni ne le reconnaît.Vous, vous le connaissez, parce qu'il demeure auprès de vous.	17 the Spirit of truth, which the world cannot accept, because it neither sees nor knows it. But you know it, because it remains with you, and will be in you.
18 Je ne vous laisserai pas orphelins. Je viendrai vers vous.	18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
19 Encore un peu de temps et le monde ne me verra plus. Mais vous, vous verrez que je vis et vousaussi, vous vivrez.	19 In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me, because I live and you will live.
20 Ce jour-là, vous reconnaîtrez que je suis en mon Père et vous en moi et moi en vous.	20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father and you are in me and I in you.
21 Celui qui a mes commandements et qui les garde, c'est celui-là qui m'aime; or celui qui m'aime seraaimé de mon Père; et je l'aimerai et je me manifesterai à lui."	21 Whoever has my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me. And whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him."
22 Judas - pas l'Iscariote - lui dit: "Seigneur, et qu'est-il advenu, que tu doives te manifester à nous etnon pas au monde?"	22 Judas, not the Iscariot, said to him, "Master, (then) what happened that you will reveal yourself to us and not to the world?"
23 Jésus lui répondit: "Si quelqu'un m'aime, il gardera ma parole, et mon Père l'aimera et nousviendrons vers lui et nous nous ferons une demeure chez lui.	23 Jesus answered and said to him, "Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him.
24 Celui qui ne m'aime pas ne garde pas mes paroles; et la parole que vous entendez n'est pas de moi,mais du Père qui m'a envoyé.	24 Whoever does not love me does not keep my words; yet the word you hear is not mine but that of the Father who sent me.
25 Je vous ai dit cela tandis que je demeurais près de vous.	25 "I have told you this while I am with you.
26 Mais le Paraclet, l'Esprit Saint, que le Père enverra en mon nom, lui, vous enseignera tout et vousrappellera tout ce que je vous ai dit.	26 The Advocate, the holy Spirit that the Father will send in my name--he will teach you everything and remind you of all that (I) told you.
27 Je vous laisse la paix; c'est ma paix que je vous donne; je ne vous la donne pas comme le monde ladonne. Que votre coeur ne se trouble ni ne s'effraie.	27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.
28 Vous avez entendu que je vous ai dit: Je m'en vais et je reviendrai vers vous. Si vous m'aimiez, vousvous réjouiriez de ce que je vais vers le Père, parce que le Père est plus grand que moi.	28 You heard me tell you, 'I am going away and I will come back to you.' If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father; for the Father is greater than I.
29 Je vous le dis maintenant avant que cela n'arrive, pour qu'au moment où cela arrivera, vous croyiez.	29 And now I have told you this before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe.
30 Je ne m'entretiendrai plus beaucoup avec vous, car il vient, le Prince de ce monde; sur moi il n'aaucun pouvoir,	30 I will no longer speak much with you, for the ruler of the world is coming. He has no power over me,
31 mais il faut que le monde reconnaisse que j'aime le Père et que je fais comme le Père m'a commandé.Levez-vous! Partons d'ici!	31 but the world must know that I love the Father and that I do just as the Father has commanded me. Get up, let us go.
