Deutéronome 11

JERUSALEM	KING JAMES BIBLE
1 Tu aimeras Yahvé ton Dieu et tu garderas toujours ses observances, ses lois, coutumes etcommandements.	1 Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, alway.
2 C'est vous qui avez fait l'expérience et non vos fils. Eux n'ont pas eu l'expérience et n'ont pasperçu les leçons de Yahvé votre Dieu, sa grandeur, sa main forte et son bras étendu,	2 And know ye this day: for I speak not with your children which have not known, and which have not seen the chastisement of the LORD your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, and his stretched out arm,
3 les signes et les oeuvres qu'il a accomplis au coeur de l'Egypte, contre Pharaon, roi d'Egypte,et tout son pays,	3 And his miracles, and his acts, which he did in the midst of Egypt unto Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and unto all his land;
4 ce qu'il a fait aux armées de l'Egypte, à ses chevaux et à ses chars, en ramenant sur eux leseaux de la mer des Roseaux lorsqu'ils vous poursuivaient et comme il les a anéantis jusqu'aujourd'hui;	4 And what he did unto the army of Egypt, unto their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red sea to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how the LORD hath destroyed them unto this day;
5 ce qu'il a fait pour vous dans le désert jusqu'à ce que vous arriviez ici;	5 And what he did unto you in the wilderness, until ye came into this place;
6 ce qu'il a fait à Datân et à Abiram, les fils d'Eliab le Rubénite, quand la terre ouvrit sa boucheet les engloutit au milieu de tout Israël, avec leurs familles, leurs tentes et tous les gens qui les suivaient.	6 And what he did unto Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben: how the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and all the substance that was in their possession, in the midst of all Israel:
7 Ce sont vos yeux à vous qui ont vu cette grande oeuvre de Yahvé.	7 But your eyes have seen all the great acts of the LORD which he did.
8 Vous garderez tous les commandements que je vous prescris aujourd'hui, afin d'être fortspour conquérir le pays où vous allez passer pour en prendre possession,	8 Therefore shall ye keep all the commandments which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whither ye go to possess it;
9 afin de demeurer de longs jours sur la terre que Yahvé a promise par serment à vos pères et àleur descendance, terre qui ruisselle de lait et de miel.	9 And that ye may prolong your days in the land, which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give unto them and to their seed, a land that floweth with milk and honey.
10 Car le pays où tu entres pour en prendre possession n'est pas comme le pays d'Egypte d'oùvous êtes sortis, où après avoir semé, il fallait arroser avec le pied, comme on arrose un jardin potager.	10 For the land, whither thou goest in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt, from whence ye came out, where thou sowedst thy seed, and wateredst it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs:
11 Mais le pays où vous allez passer pour en prendre possession est un pays de montagnes etde vallées arrosées de la pluie du ciel.	11 But the land, whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven:
12 De ce pays Yahvé ton Dieu prend soin, sur lui les yeux de Yahvé ton Dieu restent toujoursfixés, depuis le début de l'année jusqu'à sa fin.	12 A land which the LORD thy God careth for: the eyes of the LORD thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.
13 Assurément, si vous obéissez vraiment à mes commandements que je vous prescrisaujourd'hui, aimant Yahvé votre Dieu et le servant de tout votre coeur et de toute votre âme,	13 And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,
14 je donnerai à votre pays la pluie en son temps, pluie d'automne et pluie de printemps, et tupourras récolter ton froment, ton vin nouveau et ton huile,	14 That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil.
15 je donnerai à ton bétail de l'herbe dans la campagne, et tu mangeras et te rassasieras.	15 And I will send grass in thy fields for thy cattle, that thou mayest eat and be full.
16 Gardez-vous de laisser séduire votre coeur: vous vous fourvoieriez, vous serviriez d'autresdieux et vous prosterneriez devant eux;	16 Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;
17 et la colère de Yahvé s'enflammerait contre vous, il fermerait les cieux, il n'y aurait plus depluie, la terre ne donnerait plus son fruit et vous péririez bientôt en cet heureux pays que Yahvé vous donne.	17 And then the LORD's wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you.
18 Ces paroles que je vous dis, mettez-les dans votre coeur et dans votre âme, attachez-les àvotre main comme un signe, à votre front comme un bandeau.	18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.
19 Enseignez-les à vos fils, et répétez-les-leur, aussi bien assis dans ta maison que marchantsur la route, couché aussi bien que debout.	19 And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
20 Tu les écriras sur les poteaux de ta maison et sur tes portes,	20 And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:
21 afin d'avoir de nombreux jours, vous et vos fils, sur la terre que Yahvé a juré à vos pères deleur donner, aussi longtemps que les cieux demeureront au-dessus de la terre.	21 That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.
22 Car, si vraiment vous gardez et pratiquez tous ces commandements que je vous prescris,aimant Yahvé votre Dieu, marchant dans toutes ses voies et vous attachant à lui,	22 For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him;
23 Yahvé dépossédera à votre profit toutes ces nations, et vous déposséderez des nations plusgrandes et plus puissantes que vous.	23 Then will the LORD drive out all these nations from before you, and ye shall possess greater nations and mightier than yourselves.
24 Tout lieu que foulera la plante de vos pieds sera vôtre; depuis le désert, depuis le Liban,depuis le Fleuve, le fleuve Euphrate, jusqu'à la mer Occidentale s'étendra votre territoire.	24 Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the uttermost sea shall your coast be.
25 Personne ne tiendra devant vous, Yahvé votre Dieu vous fera craindre et redouter sur toutel'étendue du pays que vous foulerez, ainsi qu'il vous l'a dit.	25 There shall no man be able to stand before you: for the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you.
26 Vois! Je vous offre aujourd'hui bénédiction et malédiction.	26 Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;
27 Bénédiction si vous obéissez aux commandements de Yahvé votre Dieu que je vousprescris aujourd'hui,	27 A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:
28 malédiction si vous désobéissez aux commandements de Yahvé votre Dieu, si vous vousécartez de la voie que je vous prescris aujourd'hui en suivant d'autres dieux que vous n'avez pas connus.	28 And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.
29 Lorsque Yahvé ton Dieu t'aura conduit dans le pays où tu vas entrer pour en prendrepossession, tu placeras la bénédiction sur le mont Garizim et la malédiction sur le mont Ebal.	29 And it shall come to pass, when the LORD thy God hath brought thee in unto the land whither thou goest to possess it, that thou shalt put the blessing upon mount Gerizim, and the curse upon mount Ebal.
30 (Ces monts, on le sait, se trouvent au-delà du Jourdain, sur la route du couchant, dans lepays des Cananéens qui habitent la Araba, vis-à-vis de Gilgal, auprès du Chêne de Moré.)	30 Are they not on the other side Jordan, by the way where the sun goeth down, in the land of the Canaanites, which dwell in the champaign over against Gilgal, beside the plains of Moreh?
31 Car vous allez passer le Jourdain, pour venir prendre possession du pays que Yahvé votreDieu vous donne. Vous le posséderez, vous y demeurerez,	31 For ye shall pass over Jordan to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God giveth you, and ye shall possess it, and dwell therein.
32 et vous garderez et pratiquerez toutes les lois et coutumes que j'énonce aujourd'hui devantvous.	32 And ye shall observe to do all the statutes and judgments which I set before you this day.
