1 En ce même temps survinrent des gens qui lui rapportèrent ce qui était arrivé aux Galiléens, dontPilate avait mêlé le sang à celui de leurs victimes.	1 And there were present, at that very time, some who were reporting about the Galileans, whose blood Pilate mixed with their sacrifices.
2 Prenant la parole, il leur dit: "Pensez-vous que, pour avoir subi pareil sort, ces Galiléens fussent deplus grands pécheurs que tous les autres Galiléens?	2 And responding, he said to them: “Do you think that these Galileans must have sinned more than all other Galileans, because they suffered so much?
3 Non, je vous le dis, mais si vous ne vous repentez pas, vous périrez tous pareillement.	3 No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you will all perish similarly.
4 Ou ces dix-huit personnes que la tour de Siloé a tuées dans sa chute, pensez-vous que leur dette fûtplus grande que celle de tous les hommes qui habitent Jérusalem?	4 And those eighteen upon whom the tower of Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they also were greater transgressors than all the men living in Jerusalem?
5 Non, je vous le dis; mais si vous ne voulez pas vous repentir, vous périrez tous de même."	5 No, I tell you. But if you do not repent, you will all perish similarly.”
6 Il disait encore la parabole que voici: "Un homme avait un figuier planté dans sa vigne. Il vint ychercher des fruits et n'en trouva pas.	6 And he also told this parable: “A certain man had a fig tree, which was planted in his vineyard. And he came seeking fruit on it, but found none.
7 Il dit alors au vigneron: Voilà trois ans que je viens chercher des fruits sur ce figuier, et je n'en trouvepas. Coupe-le; pourquoi donc use-t-il la terre pour rien?	7 Then he said to the cultivator of the vineyard: ‘Behold, for these three years I came seeking fruit on this fig tree, and I have found none. Therefore, cut it down. For why should it even occupy the land?’
8 L'autre lui répondit: Maître, laisse-le cette année encore, le temps que je creuse tout autour et que jemette du fumier.	8 But in response, he said to him: ‘Lord, let it be for this year also, during which time I will dig around it and add fertilizer.
9 Peut-être donnera-t-il des fruits à l'avenir... Sinon tu le couperas."	9 And, indeed, it should bear fruit. But if not, in the future, you shall cut it down.’ ”
10 Or il enseignait dans une synagogue le jour du sabbat.	10 Now he was teaching in their synagogue on the Sabbaths.
11 Et voici qu'il y avait là une femme ayant depuis dix-huit ans un esprit qui la rendait infirme; elle étaittoute courbée et ne pouvait absolument pas se redresser.	11 And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity for eighteen years. And she was bent over; and she was unable to look upwards at all.
12 La voyant, Jésus l'interpella et lui dit: "Femme, te voilà délivrée de ton infirmité";	12 And when Jesus saw her, he called her to himself, and he said to her, “Woman, you are released from your infirmity.”
13 puis il lui imposa les mains. Et, à l'instant même, elle se redressa, et elle glorifiait Dieu.	13 And he laid his hands upon her, and immediately she was straightened, and she glorified God.
14 Mais le chef de la synagogue, indigné de ce que Jésus eût fait une guérison le sabbat, prit la parole etdit à la foule: "Il y a six jours pendant lesquels on doit travailler; venez donc ces jours-là vous faire guérir, et nonle jour du sabbat!"	14 Then, as a result, the ruler of the synagogue became angry that Jesus had cured on the Sabbath, and he said to the crowd: “There are six days on which you ought to work. Therefore, come and be cured on those, and not on the day of the Sabbath.”
15 Mais le Seigneur lui répondit: "Hypocrites! chacun de vous, le sabbat, ne délie-t-il pas de la crècheson boeuf ou son âne pour le mener boire?	15 Then the Lord said to him in response: “You hypocrites! Does not each one of you, on the Sabbath, release his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it to water?
16 Et cette fille d'Abraham, que Satan a liée voici dix-huit ans, il n'eût pas fallu la délier de ce lien lejour du sabbat!"	16 So then, should not this daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound for lo these eighteen years, be released from this restraint on the day of the Sabbath?”
17 Comme il disait cela, tous ses adversaires étaient remplis de confusion, tandis que toute la foule étaitdans la joie de toutes les choses magnifiques qui arrivaient par lui.	17 And as he was saying these things, all his adversaries were ashamed. And all the people rejoiced in everything that was being done gloriously by him.
18 Il disait donc: "A quoi le Royaume de Dieu est-il semblable et à quoi vais-je le comparer?	18 And so he said: “To what is the kingdom of God similar, and to what figure shall I compare it?
19 Il est semblable à un grain de sénevé qu'un homme a pris et jeté dans son jardin; il croît et devient unarbre, et les oiseaux du ciel s'abritent dans ses branches."	19 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and cast into his garden. And it grew, and it became a great tree, and the birds of the air rested in its branches.”
20 Il dit encore: "A quoi vais-je comparer le Royaume de Dieu?	20 And again, he said: “To what figure shall I compare the kingdom of God?
21 Il est semblable à du levain qu'une femme a pris et enfoui dans trois mesures de farine, jusqu'à ce quele tout ait levé."	21 It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of fine wheat flour, until it was entirely leavened.”
22 Et il cheminait par villes et villages, enseignant et faisant route vers Jérusalem.	22 And he was traveling through the cities and towns, teaching and making his way to Jerusalem.
23 Quelqu'un lui dit: "Seigneur, est-ce le petit nombre qui sera sauvé?" Il leur dit:	23 And someone said to him, “Lord, are they few who are saved?” But he said to them:
24 "Luttez pour entrer par la porte étroite, car beaucoup, je vous le dis, chercheront à entrer et nepourront pas.	24 “Strive to enter through the narrow gate. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and not be able.
25 "Dès que le maître de maison se sera levé et aura fermé la porte, et que, restés dehors, vous vousserez mis à frapper à la porte en disant: Seigneur, ouvre-nous, il vous répondra: Je ne sais d'où vous êtes.	25 Then, when the father of the family will have entered and shut the door, you will begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, open to us.’ And in response, he will say to you, ‘I do not know where you are from.’
26 Alors vous vous mettrez à dire: Nous avons mangé et bu devant toi, tu as enseigné sur nos places.	26 Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’
27 Mais il vous répondra: Je ne sais d'où vous êtes; éloignez-vous de moi, vous tous qui commettezl'injustice.	27 And he will say to you: ‘I do not know where you are from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity!’
28 "Là seront les pleurs et les grincements de dents, lorsque vous verrez Abraham, Isaac, Jacob et tousles prophètes dans le Royaume de Dieu, et vous, jetés dehors.	28 In that place, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, yet you yourselves are expelled outside.
29 Et l'on viendra du levant et du couchant, du nord et du midi, prendre place au festin dans le Royaumede Dieu.	29 And they will arrive from the East, and the West, and the North, and the South; and they will recline at table in the kingdom of God.
30 "Oui, il y a des derniers qui seront premiers, et il y a des premiers qui seront derniers."	30 And behold, those who are last will be first, and those who are first will be last.”
31 A cette heure même, s'approchèrent quelques Pharisiens, qui lui dirent: "Pars et va-t-en d'ici; carHérode veut te tuer."	31 On the same day, some of the Pharisees approached, saying to him: “Depart, and go away from here. For Herod wishes to kill you.”
32 Il leur dit: "Allez dire à ce renard: Voici que je chasse des démons et accomplis des guérisonsaujourd'hui et demain, et le troisième jour je suis consommé!	32 And he said to them: “Go and tell that fox: ‘Behold, I cast out demons and accomplish healings, today and tomorrow. And on the third day I reach the end.’
33 Mais aujourd'hui, demain et le jour suivant, je dois poursuivre ma route, car il ne convient pas qu'unprophète périsse hors de Jérusalem.	33 Yet truly, it is necessary for me to walk today and tomorrow and the following day. For it does not fall to a prophet to perish beyond Jerusalem.
34 "Jérusalem, Jérusalem, toi qui tues les prophètes et lapides ceux qui te sont envoyés, combien de foisj'ai voulu rassembler tes enfants à la manière dont une poule rassemble sa couvée sous ses ailes... et vous n'avezpas voulu!	34 Jerusalem, Jerusalem! You kill the prophets, and you stone those who are sent to you. Daily, I wanted to gather together your children, in the manner of a bird with her nest under her wings, but you were not willing!
35 Voici que votre maison va vous être laissée. Oui, je vous le dis, vous ne me verrez plus, jusqu'à cequ'arrive le jour où vous direz: Béni soit celui qui vient au nom du Seigneur!"	35 Behold, your house will be left desolate for you. But I say to you, that you shall not see me, until it happens that you say: ‘Blessed is he who has arrived in the name of the Lord.’ ”
