Livre de Joël 4

JERUSALEM	NEW JERUSALEM
1 "Car en ces jours-là, en ce temps-là, quand je rétablirai Juda et Jérusalem,	1 'For in those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem,
2 je rassemblerai toutes les nations, je les ferai descendre à la Vallée de Josaphat; là j'entrerai enjugement avec elles au sujet d'Israël, mon peuple et mon héritage. Car ils l'ont dispersé parmi les nations et ilsont partagé mon pays.	2 I shall gather all the nations together and take them down to the Val ey of Jehoshaphat; there I shal putthem on trial because of Israel, my people and my heritage, for having scattered them among the nations andhaving divided my land among themselves.
3 Ils ont tiré mon peuple au sort; ils ont troqué les garçons contre des prostituées, pour du vin ils ontvendu les filles, et ils ont bu!"	3 They drew lots for my people, bartering a boy for a whore and sel ing a girl for wine to drink.
4 "Et vous aussi, Tyr et Sidon, que me voulez-vous? Et vous tous, districts de Philistie? Vousvengeriez-vous sur moi? Mais si vous exerciez sur moi votre vengeance, bien vite je ferais retomber lavengeance sur vos têtes!	4 'And what are you to me, Tyre and Sidon and al you regions of Philistia? Can you take revenge on me?If you take revenge on me, I shal quickly, instantly, make your revenge recoil on your own heads
5 Vous qui avez pris mon argent et mon or, qui avez emporté dans vos temples mes trésors précieux,	5 for having taken my silver and gold away and carried off my valuable treasures to your temples,
6 vous qui avez vendu aux fils de Yavân les fils de Juda et de Jérusalem, pour les éloigner de leurterritoire!	6 and for having sold the children of Judah and Jerusalem to the Ionians, to be taken far away from theirown frontiers.
7 Eh bien! Je vais les appeler du lieu où vous les avez vendus, et je ferai retomber vos actes sur vostêtes!	7 Look, I shal rouse them from the places to which you have sold them; I shall make your actions recoilon your own heads
8 Je vendrai vos fils et vos filles, je les livrerai aux fils de Juda; ils les vendront aux Sabéens, à unenation éloignée, car Yahvé a parlé!"	8 by sel ing your sons and daughters to the sons of Judah, who in turn wil sel them to the Sabaeans, to anation far away- Yahweh has spoken!'
9 Publiez ceci parmi les nations: Préparez la guerre! Appelez les braves! Qu'ils s'avancent, qu'ilsmontent, tous les hommes de guerre!	9 Proclaim this among the nations. Prepare for war! Rouse the champions! Al you troops, advance,march!
10 De vos socs, forgez des épées, de vos serpes, des lances, que l'infirme dise: "Je suis un brave!"	10 Hammer your ploughshares into swords, your bil -hooks into spears; let the weakling say, 'I am tough!'
11 Hâtez-vous et venez, toutes les nations d'alentour, et rassemblez-vous là! (Yahvé, fais descendre tesbraves.)	11 Hurry and come, al the nations around, and assemble there! (Yahweh, send down your champions!)
12 "Que les nations s'ébranlent et qu'elles montent à la Vallée de Josaphat! Car là je siégerai pour jugertoutes les nations à la ronde.	12 'Let the nations rouse themselves and march to the Val ey of Jehoshaphat, for there I shal sit injudgement on all the nations around.
13 Lancez la faucille: la moisson est mûre; venez, foulez: le pressoir est comble; les cuves débordent,tant leur méchanceté est grande!"	13 Ply the sickle, for the harvest is ripe; come and tread, for the winepress is full; the vats are overflowing,so great is their wickedness!'
14 Foules sur foules dans la Vallée de la Décision! Car il est proche le jour de Yahvé dans la Vallée dela Décision!	14 Multitude on multitude in the Valley of Decision! For the Day of Yahweh is near in the Val ey of theVerdict!
15 Le soleil et la lune s'assombrissent, les étoiles perdent leur éclat.	15 Sun and moon grow dark, the stars lose their brilliance.
16 Yahvé rugit de Sion, de Jérusalem il fait entendre sa voix; les cieux et la terre tremblent! MaisYahvé sera pour son peuple un refuge, une forteresse pour les enfants d'Israël!	16 Yahweh roars from Zion, he thunders from Jerusalem; heaven and earth tremble. But Yahweh wil be ashelter for his people, a stronghold for the Israelites.
17 "Vous saurez alors que je suis Yahvé, votre Dieu, qui habite à Sion, ma montagne sainte! Jérusalemsera un lieu saint, les étrangers n'y passeront plus!"	17 'Then you will know that I am Yahweh your God residing on Zion, my holy mountain. Jerusalem wilthen be a sanctuary, no foreigners will overrun it ever again.'
18 Ce jour-là, les montagnes dégoutteront de vin nouveau, les collines ruisselleront de lait, et dans tousles torrents de Juda les eaux ruisselleront. Une source jaillira de la maison de Yahvé et arrosera le ravin desAcacias.	18 When that Day comes, the mountains will run with new wine and the hil s wil flow with milk, and al thestream-beds of Judah will run with water. A fountain wil spring from Yahweh's Temple and water the Gorge ofthe Acacias.
19 L'Egypte deviendra une désolation, Edom une lande désolée, à cause des violences exercées contreles fils de Juda dont ils ont versé le sang innocent dans leur pays.	19 Egypt wil become a desolation, and Edom a desert waste on account of the violence done to thechildren of Judah whose innocent blood they shed in their country.
20 Mais Juda sera habité à jamais et Jérusalem d'âge en âge.	20 But Judah wil be inhabited for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation!
21 "Je vengerai leur sang, je n'accorderai pas l'impunité", et Yahvé aura sa demeure à Sion.	21 'I shal avenge their blood and let none go unpunished,' and Yahweh wil dwell in Zion.
