Livre d'Osée 7

JERUSALEM	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Alors que je veux guérir Israël, se dévoilent la faute d'Ephraïm et les méchancetés de Samarie; car ilspratiquent le mensonge, le voleur entre dans la maison, une bande sévit au-dehors.	1 Whenever I would heal Israel, I am confronted by the guilt of Ephraim and the evil-doings of Samaria;for deceit is their principle of behaviour; the thief breaks into the house, marauders raid in the open;
2 Et ils ne disent pas en leur coeur que je me souviens de toute leur méchanceté! Maintenant leursoeuvres les enserrent, elles sont devant ma face.	2 and they never pause to consider that I remember al their wicked deeds; and now their own deeds hemthem in and stare me in the face.
3 Par leur méchanceté ils égaient le roi, et par leurs mensonges, les chefs.	3 They amuse the king with their wickedness and the chief men with their lies.
4 Tous sont adultères, ils sont comme un four brûlant que le boulanger cesse d'attiser depuis qu'il a pétrila pâte jusqu'à ce qu'elle ait levé.	4 They are al adulterers, hot as an oven which the baker need not stoke from the time he has kneadedthe dough until it rises.
5 Au jour de notre roi, les chefs se rendent malades par la chaleur du vin, et lui tend la main auxmoqueurs	5 At the holiday for our king, the ministers become inflamed with wine, while he accepts the homage ofpeople
6 quand ils s'approchent. Dans leur complot, leur coeur est semblable à un four; toute la nuit leur colèresommeille, au matin elle brûle comme un feu flamboyant;	6 who laugh at him. Their hearts are like an oven as they plot, all night their passion slumbers, then in themorning it bursts into flame;
7 tous sont échauffés comme un four, ils dévorent leurs juges. Tous leurs rois sont tombés. Pas und'entre eux qui crie vers moi!	7 yes, al of them as hot as ovens, they consume their rulers. All their kings have fal en thus, not one ofthem has ever cal ed on me.
8 Ephraïm se mêle aux peuples, Ephraïm est une galette qu'on n'a pas retournée.	8 Ephraim mixes with the nations. Ephraim is a half-baked cake.
9 Des étrangers dévorent sa vigueur, et lui ne le sait pas! Même des cheveux blancs parsèment sa tête, etlui ne le sait pas!	9 Foreigners have eaten his strength away but he is unconscious of it; even his hair is turning grey but heis unconscious of it.
10 (L'orgueil d'Israël témoigne contre lui; et ils ne reviennent pas vers Yahvé leur Dieu, avec tout cela,ils ne le cherchent pas!)	10 (Israel's arrogance is his own accuser; but they do not come back to Yahweh their God or seek him,despite al this.)
11 Ephraïm est une colombe naïve, sans cervelle; ils appellent l'Egypte, ils vont en Assur,	11 Ephraim is like a silly, witless pigeon cal ing on Egypt, turning to Assyria.
12 où qu'ils aillent, je déploierai sur eux mon filet, comme l'oiseau du ciel je les ferai tomber je lespunirai à cause de leur méchanceté.	12 Wherever they turn, I shal spread my net over them, I shal bring them down like the birds of the sky, Ishall punish them for their perversity.
13 Malheur à eux, parce qu'ils ont fui loin de moi! Ruine sur eux, parce qu'ils m'ont été infidèles! Et moi,je devrais les libérer, quand eux profèrent contre moi des mensonges?	13 Woe to them for having fled from me! Ruin seize them for having wronged me! I have rescued themagain and again and they have only told lies about me.
14 Ils ne crient pas vers moi du fond du coeur quand ils se lamentent sur leurs couches; pour du blé et duvin nouveau, ils se lacèrent, mais ils se rebellent contre moi.	14 Theirs is no heartfelt cry to me when they lament on their beds; when they gash themselves over thegrain and new wine, they are stil rebelling against me.
15 Et moi, j'avais fortifié leur bras, mais contre moi ils méditent le mal.	15 Though I supported and gave strength to their arms, they plan how to hurt me.
16 Ils se tournent vers ce qui n'est rien, ils sont comme un arc trompeur. Leurs chefs tomberont sousl'épée à cause de la fureur de leur langue, et l'on se moquera bien d'eux au pays d'Egypte...	16 They turn to what does not exist, they are like a faulty bow. Their leaders wil fal by the swordbecause of their arrogant talk; how they wil be laughed at in Egypt!
