| 1 Ecoutez ceci, prêtres, sois attentive, maison d'Israël, maison du roi, prête l'oreille! Car c'est vous queconcerne le droit, mais vous avez été un piège à Miçpa, et un filet tendu sur le Tabor. | 1 Hear this, O priests! Give heed, O house of Israel! Hearken, O house of the king! For the judgment pertains to you; for you have been a snare at Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor. |
| 2 Ils ont approfondi la fosse de Shittim, eh bien, moi, je vais les punir tous. | 2 And they have made deep the pit of Shittim; but I will chastise all of them. |
| 3 Moi, je connais Ephraïm, Israël ne m'est point caché. Oui, tu t'es prostitué, Ephraïm, Israël s'est souillé. | 3 I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me; for now, O Ephraim, you have played the harlot, Israel is defiled. |
| 4 Leurs oeuvres ne leur permettent pas de revenir vers leur Dieu, car un esprit de prostitution est en leursein et ils ne connaissent pas Yahvé. | 4 Their deeds do not permit them to return to their God. For the spirit of harlotry is within them, and they know not the LORD. |
| 5 L'orgueil d'Israël témoigne contre lui; Israël et Ephraïm trébuchent à cause de leur faute, Juda aussitrébuche avec eux. | 5 The pride of Israel testifies to his face; Ephraim shall stumble in his guilt; Judah also shall stumble with them. |
| 6 Avec leurs brebis et leurs boeufs, ils iront chercher Yahvé, mais ils ne le trouveront pas: il s'est retiréd'eux! | 6 With their flocks and herds they shall go to seek the LORD, but they will not find him; he has withdrawn from them. |
| 7 Ils ont trahi Yahvé, ils ont engendré des bâtards; maintenant la néoménie va les dévorer, eux et leurschamps. | 7 They have dealt faithlessly with the LORD; for they have borne alien children. Now the new moon shall devour them with their fields. |
| 8 Sonnez du cor à Gibéa, de la trompette à Rama, donnez l'alarme à Bet-Aven, on te talonne, Benjamin. | 8 Blow the horn in Gibe-ah, the trumpet in Ramah. Sound the alarm at Beth-aven; tremble, O Benjamin! |
| 9 Ephraïm deviendra une désolation, au jour du châtiment, sur les tribus d'Israël, j'annonce une chosecertaine. | 9 Ephraim shall become a desolation in the day of punishment; among the tribes of Israel I declare what is sure. |
| 10 Les chefs de Juda sont comme des déplaceur de bornes; sur eux je répandrai ma fureur comme del'eau. | 10 The princes of Judah have become like those who remove the landmark; upon them I will pour out my wrath like water. |
| 11 Ephraïm est opprimé, écrasé par le jugement, car il s'est plu à courir après le Mensonge. | 11 Ephraim is oppressed, crushed in judgment, because he was determined to go after vanity. |
| 12 Eh bien, moi, je serai comme la teigne pour Ephraïm, comme la carie pour la maison de Juda. | 12 Therefore I am like a moth to Ephraim, and like dry rot to the house of Judah. |
| 13 Ephraïm a vu sa maladie et Juda son ulcère; Ephraïm alors est allé vers Assur, il a envoyé desmessagers au grand roi; mais lui ne pourra vous guérir ni porter remède à votre ulcère. | 13 When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah his wound, then Ephraim went to Assyria, and sent to the great king. But he is not able to cure you or heal your wound. |
| 14 Car moi, je suis comme un lion pour Ephraïm, comme un lionceau pour la maison de Juda; moi, moi,je déchirerai et je m'en irai, j'emporterai ma proie, et personne pour délivrer. | 14 For I will be like a lion to Ephraim, and like a young lion to the house of Judah. I, even I, will rend and go away, I will carry off, and none shall rescue. |
| 15 Oui, je vais regagner ma demeure, jusqu'à ce qu'ils s'avouent coupables et cherchent ma face; dansleur détresse, ils me rechercheront. | 15 I will return again to my place, until they acknowledge their guilt and seek my face, and in their distress they seek me, saying, |
