JERUSALEM	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 La parole de Yahvé me fut adressée en ces termes:	1 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:
2 Fils d'homme, tourne-toi vers les montagnes d'Israël et prophétise contre elles.	2 Son of man, turn toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them:
3 Tu diras: Montagnes d'Israël, écoutez la parole du Seigneur Yahvé. Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvéaux montagnes, aux collines, aux ravins, aux vallées. Voici que je vais faire venir contre vous l'épée, et je vaisdétruire vos hauts lieux.	3 Mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD. Thus says the Lord GOD (to the mountains and hills, the ravines and valleys): See, I am bringing a sword against you, and I will destroy your high places.
4 Vos autels seront dévastés, vos brasiers à encens seront brisés, je ferai tomber vos habitants, percésde coups, devant vos ordures,	4 Your altars shall be laid waste, your incense stands shall be broken, and I will cast down your slain ones before your idols;
5 je mettrai les cadavres des Israélites devant leurs ordures, et je disperserai leurs ossements toutautour de vos autels.	5 I will scatter their bones all around your altars.
6 Partout où vous habitez, les villes seront détruites et les hauts lieux dévastés, afin que vos autelssoient détruits et qu'ils soient dévastés, que vos ordures soient brisées et qu'elles disparaissent, que vos brasiers àencens soient mis en pièces et vos oeuvres anéanties.	6 In all your dwelling places cities shall be made desolate and high places laid waste, so that your altars will be made desolate and laid waste, your idols broken and removed, and your incense stands smashed to bits.
7 On tombera percé de coups au milieu de vous, et vous saurez que je suis Yahvé.	7 (The slain shall fall in your midst, and you shall know that I am the LORD.
8 Mais j'en épargnerai qui seront pour vous des survivants de l'épée parmi les nations, quand vousserez dispersés parmi les nations;	8 I have warned you.) When some of your people have escaped to other nations from the sword, and have been scattered over the foreign lands,
9 alors vos survivants se souviendront de moi, parmi les nations où ils seront captifs, eux dont j'auraibrisé le coeur prostitué qui m'a abandonné, et les yeux qui se prostituent après leurs ordures. Ils éprouveront dudégoût pour eux-mêmes à cause de tout le mal qu'ils ont fait par leurs abominations.	9 then those who have escaped will remember me among the nations to which they have been exiled, after I have broken their adulterous hearts that turned away from me (and their eyes which lusted after idols). They shall loathe themselves because of their evil deeds, all their abominations.
10 Et ils sauront que je suis Yahvé: j'ai dit, et non pas en vain, que je leur infligerai ces maux.	10 Then they shall know that it was not in vain that I, the LORD, threatened to inflict this calamity upon them.
11 Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé: Bats des mains, frappe du pied et dis: "Hélas!" sur toutes lesabominations de la maison d'Israël qui va tomber par l'épée, par la famine et par la peste.	11 Thus says the Lord GOD: Clap your hands, stamp your feet, and cry "Alas!" because of all the abominations of the house of Israel, for which they shall fall by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence.
12 Au loin, on mourra par la peste, auprès, on tombera par l'épée; ce qui aura été préservé et épargnémourra de faim, car j'assouvirai ma fureur contre eux.	12 He that is far off shall die of pestilence, he that is near shall fall by the sword, and he that is besieged shall perish by famine; so will I spend my fury upon them.
13 Vous saurez que je suis Yahvé quand, percés de coups, ils seront parmi leurs ordures, tout autourde leurs autels, sur toute colline élevée, au sommet de toutes les montagnes, sous tout arbre verdoyant, sous toutchêne touffu, là où ils offrent un parfum d'apaisement à toutes leurs idoles.	13 Then shall they know that I am the LORD, when their slain shall lie amid their idols, all about their altars, on every high hill and mountaintop, beneath every green tree and leafy oak, wherever they offered appeasing odors to any of their gods.
14 J'étendrai la main contre eux et je ferai du pays une solitude désolée depuis le désert jusqu'à Ribla,partout où ils habitent, et ils sauront que je suis Yahvé.	14 I will stretch out my hand against them, and wherever they live I will make the land a desolate waste, from the desert to Riblah; thus shall they know that I am the LORD.
