JERUSALEM	NEW JERUSALEM
1 La parole de Yahvé me fut adressée en ces termes:	1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,
2 Fils d'homme, prophétise et dis: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé. Poussez des cris: "Ah! Quel jour!"	2 'Son of man, prophesy and say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Howl: Disaster day!
3 Car le jour est proche, il est proche le jour de Yahvé; ce sera un jour chargé de nuages, ce sera letemps des nations.	3 For the day is near, the day of Yahweh is near; it wil be a day dark with cloud, a time of doom for thenations.
4 L'épée viendra en Egypte, l'angoisse au pays de Kush, quand les morts tomberont en Egypte,quand on emportera ses richesses et que ses fondements seront renversés.	4 "The sword wil come on Egypt, and anguish on the country of Cush when the slaughtered fal inEgypt, when her riches are carried away and her foundations are destroyed.
5 Kush, Put et Lud, toute l'Arabie, Kub et les fils du pays de l'Alliance tomberont avec eux parl'épée.	5 Cush, Put and Lud, all Arabia, Cub and the children of the country of the covenant will fal by thesword with them.
6 Ainsi parle Yahvé. Ils tomberont, les appuis de l'Egypte; il croulera l'orgueil de sa force: deMigdol à Syène, on y tombera par l'épée, oracle du Seigneur Yahvé.	6 "Yahweh says this: "The supports of Egypt wil fall; the pride of her strength wil crumble; they will fal by the sword from Migdol to Syene -- declares the Lord Yahweh.
7 Ils seront dévastés au milieu de pays dévastés, ses villes seront au milieu de villes détruites.	7 "They will be the most desolate of desolate countries, and its cities the most ruined of cities.
8 Et ils sauront que je suis Yahvé, quand je mettrai le feu à l'Egypte et que se briseront tous sessoutiens.	8 And they wil know that I am Yahweh when I set fire to Egypt and al its supports are shattered.
9 Ce jour-là, les messagers que j'enverrai partiront sur des bateaux pour troubler Kush dans sasécurité. L'angoisse se répandra chez ses habitants, au jour de l'Egypte - oui! la voici qui vient!	9 "That day, I shal send messengers by ship to terrify the carefree Cushites, and anguish wil overtakethem on the day of Egypt -- it is coming now!
10 Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé: J'anéantirai la multitude de l'Egypte, par la main deNabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone.	10 The Lord Yahweh says this: I shal destroy the huge population of Egypt at the hand ofNebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.
11 Lui et son peuple avec lui, la plus barbare des nations, seront amenés pour ravager le pays. Ilstireront l'épée contre l'Egypte et rempliront le pays de cadavres.	11 He and his people, the most barbarous of nations, wil be brought to ravage the country. They wildraw the sword against Egypt and fil the country with corpses.
12 Je mettrai les Nils à sec, je vendrai le pays à des méchants. Je dévasterai le pays et ce qu'ilrenferme par la main d'étrangers. Moi, Yahvé, j'ai parlé.	12 I shal dry up the courses of the Nile and sel the country to the wicked. I shal lay the whole countrywaste and everything in it, at the hand of foreigners. I, Yahweh, have spoken.
13 Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé: J'anéantirai les ordures, j'ôterai de Noph les faux dieux. Il n'yaura plus de prince au pays d'Egypte. Je répandrai la crainte au pays d'Egypte.	13 "The Lord Yahweh says this: I shall destroy the foul idols and take the false gods away from Noph.Egypt wil be left without a ruler. I shall spread fear through Egypt.
14 Je dévasterai Patros, je mettrai le feu à Coân, je ferai justice de No.	14 I shal lay Pathros waste, set Zoan on fire, inflict my punishments on No.
15 Je déverserai ma fureur sur Sîn, la forteresse de l'Egypte; j'exterminerai la multitude de No.	15 I shal vent my fury on Sin, the bastion of Egypt; I shall wipe out the throngs of No.
16 Je mettrai le feu à l'Egypte, Sîn sera pris de convulsions, à No, on ouvrira une brèche et les eauxse répandront.	16 I shal set fire to Egypt; Sin will be seized with convulsions; a breach wil be opened at No and thewaters flood out.
17 Les jeunes gens de On et de Pi-Bésèt tomberont par l'épée et les villes elles-mêmes iront encaptivité.	17 The young men of On and Pi-Beseth wil fal by the sword and the cities themselves go into captivity.
18 A Tahpanhès, le jour deviendra ténèbres quand j'y briserai les sceptres de l'Egypte et quel'orgueil de sa force prendra fin. Quant à elle, un nuage la couvrira et ses filles iront en captivité.	18 At Tahpanhes day will turn to darkness when I shatter the sceptres of Egypt there, when the pride ofher strength ceases. A cloud will cover Egypt itself, and its daughters will go into captivity.
19 C'est ainsi que je ferai justice de l'Egypte, et l'on saura que je suis Yahvé.	19 Such wil be the punishments I inflict on Egypt. And they wil know that I am Yahweh." '
20 La onzième année, au premier mois, le sept du mois, la parole de Yahvé me fut adressée en cestermes:	20 In the eleventh year, on the seventh day of the first month, the word of Yahweh was addressed to meas fol ows,
21 Fils d'homme, j'ai brisé le bras de Pharaon, roi d'Egypte, et voici que nul n'a pansé sa blessure eny appliquant des remèdes, en y mettant un bandage et en le pansant pour qu'il retrouve la force de manier l'épée.	21 'Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; you can see that no one has dressedhis wound by applying remedies to it, by bandaging it and by dressing it, to make it strong enough to wield thesword.
22 C'est pourquoi, ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé. Voici que je me déclare contre Pharaon, roid'Egypte; je lui briserai les bras, celui qui est valide et celui qui est brisé, et je ferai tomber l'épée de sa main.	22 This being so, the Lord Yahweh says this, "Look, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt; I shal breakhis arms, the sound one and the broken one, and make the sword drop from his hand.
23 Je disséminerai l'Egypte parmi les nations, je la disperserai dans les pays.	23 I shal scatter Egypt among the nations and disperse it among the countries.
24 Je fortifierai les bras du roi de Babylone et je mettrai mon épée dans sa main. Je briserai les brasde Pharaon et celui-ci poussera devant son ennemi des gémissements de mourant.	24 I shal strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put my sword in his hand. I shal breakPharaoh's arms and, confronted with his enemy, he wil groan like a dying man.
25 Je fortifierai les bras du roi de Babylone, mais les bras de Pharaon tomberont. Et l'on saura queje suis Yahvé, quand je mettrai mon épée dans les mains du roi de Babylone et qu'il la brandira contre le paysd'Egypte.	25 I shal strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and the arms of Pharaoh wil fall. And they wilknow that I am Yahweh, when I put my sword into the hands of the king of Babylon and he wields it againstEgypt.
26 Je disséminerai les Egyptiens parmi les nations, je les disperserai dans les pays, et l'on saura queje suis Yahvé.	26 I shal scatter Egypt among the nations and disperse it among the countries; and they wil know that Iam Yahweh." '
