JERUSALEM	KING JAMES BIBLE
1 La trentième année, au quatrième mois, le cinq du mois, alors que je me trouvais parmi les déportés au bordde fleuve Kebar, le ciel s'ouvrit et je fus témoin de visions divines.	1 Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.
2 Le cinq du mois - c'était la cinquième année d'exil du roi Joiakîn -	2 In the fifth day of the month, which was the fifth year of king Jehoiachin's captivity,
3 la parole de Yahvé fut adressée au prêtre Ezéchiel, fils de Buzi, au pays des Chaldéens, au bord dufleuve Kebar. C'est là que la main de Yahvé fut sur lui.	3 The word of the LORD came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the LORD was there upon him.
4 Je regardai: c'était un vent de tempête soufflant du nord, un gros nuage, un feu jaillissant, avec unelueur autour, et au centre comme l'éclat du vermeil au milieu du feu.	4 And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire.
5 Au centre, je discernai quelque chose qui ressemblait à quatre animaux dont voici l'aspect: ilsavaient une forme humaine.	5 Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man.
6 Ils avaient chacun quatre faces et chacun quatre ailes.	6 And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings.
7 Leurs jambes étaient droites et leurs sabots étaient comme des sabots de boeuf, étincelants commel'éclat de l'airain poli.	7 And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf's foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass.
8 Sous leurs ailes, il y avait des mains humaines tournées vers les quatre directions, de même queleurs faces et leurs ailes à eux quatre.	8 And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings.
9 Leurs ailes étaient jointes l'une à l'autre; ils ne se tournaient pas en marchant: ils allaient chacundevant soi.	9 Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward.
10 Quant à la forme de leurs faces, ils avaient une face d'homme, et tous les quatre avaient une facede lion à droite, et tous les quatre avaient une face de taureau à gauche, et tous les quatre avaient une face d'aigle.	10 As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.
11 Leurs ailes étaient déployées vers le haut; chacun avait deux ailes se joignant et deux ailes luicouvrant le corps;	11 Thus were their faces: and their wings were stretched upward; two wings of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies.
12 et ils allaient chacun devant soi; ils allaient là où l'esprit les poussait, ils ne se tournaient pas enmarchant.	12 And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, they went; and they turned not when they went.
13 Au milieu des animaux, il y avait quelque chose comme des charbons ardents ayant l'aspect detorches, allant et venant entre les animaux; le feu jetait une lueur, et du feu sortaient des éclairs.	13 As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps: it went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning.
14 Les animaux allaient et venaient, semblables à l'éclair.	14 And the living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning.
15 Je regardai les animaux; et voici qu'il y avait une roue à terre, à côté des animaux aux quatrefaces.	15 Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold one wheel upon the earth by the living creatures, with his four faces.
16 L'aspect de ces roues et leur structure avait l'éclat de la chrysolithe. Toutes les quatre avaientmême forme; quant à leur aspect et leur structure: c'était comme si une roue se trouvait au milieu de l'autre.	16 The appearance of the wheels and their work was like unto the colour of a beryl: and they four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel.
17 Elles avançaient dans les quatre directions et ne se tournaient pas en marchant.	17 When they went, they went upon their four sides: and they turned not when they went.
18 Leur circonférence était de grande taille et effrayante, et leur circonférence, à toutes les quatre,était pleine de reflets tout autour.	18 As for their rings, they were so high that they were dreadful; and their rings were full of eyes round about them four.
19 Lorsque les animaux avançaient, les roues avançaient à côté d'eux, et lorsque les animauxs'élevaient de terre, les roues s'élevaient.	19 And when the living creatures went, the wheels went by them: and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.
20 Là où l'esprit les poussait, les roues allaient, et elles s'élevaient également, car l'esprit de l'animalétait dans les roues.	20 Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went, thither was their spirit to go; and the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.
21 Quand ils avançaient, elles avançaient, quand ils s'arrêtaient, elles s'arrêtaient, et quand ilss'élevaient de terre, les roues s'élevaient également, car l'esprit de l'animal était dans les roues.	21 When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.
22 Il y avait sur les têtes de l'animal quelque chose qui ressemblait à une voûte, éclatante comme lecristal, tendue sur leurs têtes, au-dessus,	22 And the likeness of the firmament upon the heads of the living creature was as the colour of the terrible crystal, stretched forth over their heads above.
23 et sous la voûte, leurs ailes étaient dressées l'une vers l'autre; chacun en avait deux lui couvrant lecorps.	23 And under the firmament were their wings straight, the one toward the other: every one had two, which covered on this side, and every one had two, which covered on that side, their bodies.
24 Et j'entendis le bruit de leurs ailes, comme un bruit d'eaux abondantes, comme la voix de Shaddaï;lorsqu'ils marchaient, c'était un bruit de tempête, comme un bruit de camp; lorsqu'ils s'arrêtaient, ils repliaientleurs ailes.	24 And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, the voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings.
25 Et il se produisit un bruit.	25 And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads, when they stood, and had let down their wings.
26 Au-dessus de la voûte qui était sur leurs têtes, il y avait quelque chose qui avait l'aspect d'unepierre de saphir en forme de trône, et sur cette forme de trône, dessus, tout en haut, un être ayant apparencehumaine.	26 And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.
27 Et je vis comme l'éclat du vermeil, quelque chose comme du feu près de lui, tout autour, depuis cequi paraissait être ses reins et au-dessus; et depuis ce qui paraissait être ses reins et au-dessous, je vis quelquechose comme du feu et une lueur tout autour;	27 And I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about.
28 l'aspect de cette lueur, tout autour, était comme l'aspect de l'arc qui apparaît dans les nuages, lesjours de pluie. C'était quelque chose qui ressemblait à la gloire de Yahvé. Je regardai, et je tombai la face contreterre; et j'entendis la voix de quelqu'un qui me parlait.	28 As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.
