Lévitique 17

JERUSALEM	KING JAMES BIBLE
1 Yahvé parla à Moïse et dit:	1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Parle à Aaron, à ses fils et à tous les Israélites. Tu leur diras: Voici l'ordre qu'a donné Yahvé:	2 Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them; This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, saying,
3 Tout homme de la maison d'Israël qui, dans le camp ou hors du camp, immolera taureau, agneauou chèvre,	3 What man soever there be of the house of Israel, that killeth an ox, or lamb, or goat, in the camp, or that killeth it out of the camp,
4 sans l'amener à l'entrée de la Tente du Rendez-vous pour en faire offrande à Yahvé devant sademeure, cet homme répondra du sang répandu, il sera retranché du milieu de son peuple.	4 And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer an offering unto the LORD before the tabernacle of the LORD; blood shall be imputed unto that man; he hath shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people:
5 Ainsi les Israélites apporteront au prêtre pour Yahvé, à l'entrée de la Tente du Rendez-vous, lessacrifices qu'ils voudraient faire dans la campagne, et ils en feront pour Yahvé des sacrifices de communion.	5 To the end that the children of Israel may bring their sacrifices, which they offer in the open field, even that they may bring them unto the LORD, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest, and offer them for peace offerings unto the LORD.
6 Le prêtre versera le sang sur l'autel de Yahvé qui se trouve à l'entrée de la Tente du Rendez-vouset il fera fumer la graisse en parfum d'apaisement pour Yahvé.	6 And the priest shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar of the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and burn the fat for a sweet savour unto the LORD.
7 Ils n'offriront plus leurs sacrifices à ces satyres à la suite desquels ils se prostituaient. C'est uneloi perpétuelle que celle-ci, pour eux et leurs descendants.	7 And they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto devils, after whom they have gone a whoring. This shall be a statute for ever unto them throughout their generations.
8 Tu leur diras encore: Tout homme de la maison d'Israël ou tout étranger résidant parmi vous quioffre un holocauste ou un sacrifice	8 And thou shalt say unto them, Whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers which sojourn among you, that offereth a burnt offering of sacrifice,
9 sans l'apporter à l'entrée de la Tente du Rendez-vous pour l'offrir à Yahvé, cet homme seraretranché de sa race.	9 And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer it unto the LORD; even that man shall be cut off from among his people.
10 Tout homme de la maison d'Israël ou tout étranger résidant parmi vous qui mangera du sang,n'importe quel sang, je me tournerai contre celui-là qui aura mangé ce sang, et je le retrancherai du milieu de sonpeuple.	10 And whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, that eateth any manner of blood; I will even set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people.
11 Oui, la vie de la chair est dans le sang. Ce sang, je vous l'ai donné, moi, pour faire sur l'autel lerite d'expiation pour vos vies; car c'est le sang qui expie pour une vie.	11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
12 Voilà pourquoi j'ai dit aux enfants d'Israël: "Nul d'entre vous ne mangera de sang et l'étrangerqui réside parmi vous ne mangera pas de sang."	12 Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood.
13 Quiconque, enfant d'Israël ou étranger résidant parmi vous, prendra à la chasse un gibier, bêteou oiseau qu'il est permis de manger, en devra répandre le sang et le recouvrir de terre.	13 And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust.
14 Car la vie de toute chair, c'est son sang, et j'ai dit aux Israélites: "Vous ne mangerez du sangd'aucune chair car la vie de toute chair, c'est son sang, et quiconque en mangera sera supprimé."	14 For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.
15 Quiconque, citoyen ou étranger, mangera une bête morte ou déchirée, devra nettoyer sesvêtements et se laver avec de l'eau; il sera impur jusqu'au soir, puis il sera pur.	15 And every soul that eateth that which died of itself, or that which was torn with beasts, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even: then shall he be clean.
16 Mais s'il ne les nettoie pas et ne se lave pas le corps, il portera le poids de sa faute.	16 But if he wash them not, nor bathe his flesh; then he shall bear his iniquity.
