Psalms 84

1 Unto the end, for the winepresses, a psalm for the sons of Core.	1 [For the choirmaster On the . . . of Gath Of the sons of Korah Psalm] How lovely are your dwel ing-places, Yahweh Sabaoth.
2 How lovely are thy tabernacles, O Lord of host!	2 My whole being yearns and pines for Yahweh's courts, My heart and my body cry out for joy to theliving God.
3 my soul longeth and fainteth for the courts of the Lord. My heart and my flesh have rejoiced in the living God.	3 Even the sparrow has found a home, the swal ow a nest to place its young: your altars, YahwehSabaoth, my King and my God.
4 For the sparrow hath found herself a house, and the turtle a nest for herself where she may lay her young ones: Thy altars, O Lord of hosts, my king and my God.	4 How blessed are those who live in your house; they shall praise you continual y. Pause
5 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house, O Lord: they shall praise thee for ever and ever.	5 Blessed those who find their strength in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.
6 Blessed is the man whose help is from thee: in his heart he hath disposed to ascend by steps,	6 As they pass through the Val ey of the Balsam, they make there a water-hole, and -- a further blessing-- early rain fil s it.
7 in the vale of tears, in the place which be hath set.	7 They make their way from height to height, God shows himself to them in Zion.
8 For the lawgiver shall give a blessing, they shall go from virtue to virtue: the God of gods shall be seen in Sion.	8 Yahweh, God Sabaoth, hear my prayer, listen, God of Jacob.
9 O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob.	9 God, our shield, look, and see the face of your anointed.
10 Behold, O God our protector: and look on the face of thy Christ.	10 Better one day in your courts than a thousand at my own devices, to stand on the threshold of God'shouse than to live in the tents of the wicked.
11 For better is one day in thy courts above thousands. I have chosen to be an abject in the house of my God, rather than to dwell in the tabernacles of sinners.	11 For Yahweh God is a rampart and shield, he gives grace and glory; Yahweh refuses nothing good tothose whose life is blameless.
12 For God loveth mercy and truth: the Lord will give grace and glory.	12 Yahweh Sabaoth, blessed is he who trusts in you.
13 He will not deprive of good things them that walk in innocence : O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
