| 1 Montant alors dans une barque, Il repassa le lac, et revint dans Sa ville. | 1 And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city. |
| 2 Et voici qu'on Lui présenta un paralytique couché sur un lit. Et Jésus, voyant leur foi, dit au paralytique : Aie confiance, Mon fils ; tes péchés te sont remis. | 2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee. |
| 3 Et voici que quelques-uns des scribes dirent en eux-mêmes : Cet homme blasphème. | 3 And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth. |
| 4 Et Jésus, ayant vu leurs pensées, dit : Pourquoi pensez-vous le mal dans vos cœurs ? | 4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? |
| 5 Lequel est le plus aisé, de dire : Tes péchés te sont remis ; ou de dire : Lève-toi et marche ? | 5 For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk? |
| 6 Or, afin que vous sachiez que le Fils de l'homme a sur la terre le pouvoir de remettre les péchés : Lève-toi, dit-Il au paralytique ; prends ton lit, et va dans ta maison. | 6 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. |
| 7 Et il se leva, et s'en alla dans sa maison. | 7 And he arose, and departed to his house. |
| 8 Les foules, voyant cela, furent remplies de crainte, et glorifièrent Dieu, qui avait donné un tel pouvoir aux hommes. | 8 But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men. |
| 9 Jésus, sortant de là, vit un homme, appelé Matthieu, assis au bureau des impots. Et Il lui dit : Suis-Moi. Et se levant, il Le suivit. | 9 And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him. |
| 10 Or, il arriva que, Jésus étant à table dans la maison, beaucoup de publicains et de pécheurs vinrent se mettre à table avec Lui et Ses disciples. | 10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples. |
| 11 Et voyant cela, les pharisiens disaient à Ses disciples : Pourquoi votre Maître mange-t-Il avec les publicains et les pécheurs ? | 11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners? |
| 12 Mais Jésus les ayant entendus, dit : Ce ne sont pas ceux qui se portent bien, mais les malades, qui ont besoin de médecin. | 12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. |
| 13 Allez, et apprenez ce que signifie cette parole : Je veux la miséricorde et non le sacrifice. Car Je ne suis pas venu appeler les justes, mais les pécheurs. | 13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. |
| 14 Alors les disciples de Jean s'approchèrent de Lui, et dirent : Pourquoi nous et les pharisiens jeûnons-nous souvent, tandis que Vos disciples ne jeûnent point ? | 14 Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not? |
| 15 Et Jésus leur dit : Les amis (fils) de l'époux peuvent-ils être dans le deuil pendant que l'époux est avec eux ? Mais les jours viendront où l'époux leur sera enlevé, et alors ils jeûneront. | 15 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast. |
| 16 Personne ne met une pièce de drap neuf à un vieux vêtement ; car elle emporterait une partie du vêtement, et la déchirure serait pire. | 16 No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse. |
| 17 On ne met pas non plus du vin nouveau dans de vieilles outres ; autrement les outres se rompent, le vin se répand, et les outres sont perdues. Mais on met le vin nouveau dans des outres neuves, et tous deux se conservent. | 17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved. |
| 18 Tandis qu'Il leur disait cela, voici qu'un chef de synagogue s'approcha, et se prosterna devant Lui, en disant : Seigneur, ma fille est morte il y a un instant ; mais venez, imposez Votre main sur elle, et elle vivra. | 18 While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live. |
| 19 Jésus, Se levant, le suivait avec Ses disciples. | 19 And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples. |
| 20 Et voici qu'une femme, qui souffrait d'une perte de sang depuis douze ans, s'approcha par derrière, et toucha la frange de Son vêtement. | 20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: |
| 21 Car elle disait en elle-même : Si je puis seulement toucher Son vêtement, je serai guérie. | 21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. |
| 22 Jésus, Se retournant et la voyant, dit : Aie confiance, ma fille, ta foi t'a sauvée. Et la femme fut guérie à l'heure même. | 22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour. |
| 23 Lorsque Jésus fut arrivé à la maison du chef de synagogue, et qu'Il eut vu les joueurs de flûte et une foule bruyante, Il dit : | 23 And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise, |
| 24 Retirez-vous ; car cette jeune fille n'est pas morte, mais elle dort. Et ils se moquaient de Lui. | 24 He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn. |
| 25 Lorsque la foule eut été renvoyée, Il entra, et prit la main de la jeune fille. Et la jeune fille se leva. | 25 But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose. |
| 26 Et le bruit s'en répandit dans tout le pays. | 26 And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land. |
| 27 Comme Jésus sortait de là, deux aveugles Le suivirent, criant et disant : Ayez pitié de nous, Fils de David. | 27 And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us. |
| 28 Et lorsqu'Il fut venu dans la maison, les aveugles s'approchèrent de Lui. Et Jésus leur dit : Croyez-vous que Je puisse vous faire cela ? Ils Lui dirent : Oui, Seigneur. | 28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. |
| 29 Alors Il toucha leurs yeux, en disant : Qu'il vous soit fait selon votre foi. | 29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. |
| 30 Et leurs yeux s'ouvrirent. Et Jésus les menaça, en disant : Prenez garde que personne ne le sache. | 30 And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it. |
| 31 Mais eux, s'en allant, répandirent Sa renommée dans tout ce pays-là. | 31 But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country. |
| 32 Lorsqu'ils furent sortis, voici qu'on Lui présenta un homme muet, possédé du démon. | 32 As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil. |
| 33 Le démon ayant été chassé, le muet parla, et les foules furent dans l'admiration, disant : Jamais rien de semblable n'a été vu en Israël. | 33 And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel. |
| 34 Mais les pharisiens disaient : C'est par le prince des démons qu'Il chasse les démons. | 34 But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils. |
| 35 Or, Jésus parcourait toutes les villes et les villages, enseignant dans leurs synagogues, et prêchant l'Evangile du royaume, et guérissant toute langueur et toute infirmité. | 35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. |
| 36 Et voyant les foules, Il en eut compassion ; car elles étaient accablées, et gisaient comme des brebis qui n'ont point de pasteur. | 36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. |
| 37 Alors Il dit à Ses disciples : La moisson est grande, mais il y a peu d'ouvriers. | 37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; |
| 38 Priez donc le Maître de la moisson d'envoyer des ouvriers dans Sa moisson. | 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. |
