| 1 Parole du Seigneur, qui fut adressée à Osée, fils de Beéri, aux jours d'Ozias, de Joathan, d'Achaz et d'Ezéchias, rois de Juda, et aux jours de Jéroboam, fils de Joas, roi d'Israël. | 1 The word of the LORD that came to Hosea the son of Be-eri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel. |
| 2 La première fois que le (Commencement des paroles du, note) Seigneur parla à (par) Osée, le Seigneur dit à Osée : Va, prends pour (toi) femme une prostituée (une femme de fornications, note), et aie des enfants de prostitution ; car le pays d'Israël se prostitue et s'éloigne (forniquant la terre forniquera en se séparant) du Seigneur. | 2 When the LORD first spoke through Hosea, the LORD said to Hosea, "Go, take to yourself a wife of harlotry and have children of harlotry, for the land commits great harlotry by forsaking the LORD." |
| 3 Il alla et prit Gomer, fille de Débélaïm, et elle conçut et lui enfanta un fils. | 3 So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim, and she conceived and bore him a son. |
| 4 Et le Seigneur lui dit : Appelle-le du nom de Jezrahel, car dans peu de temps je vengerai (visiterai, note) le sang de Jezrahel sur la maison de Jéhu, et je mettrai fin au royaume de la maison d'Israël. | 4 And the LORD said to him, "Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will punish the house of Jehu for the blood of Jezreel, and I will put an end to the kingdom of the house of Israel. |
| 5 En ce jour-là, je briserai l'arc d'Israël dans la vallée de Jezrahel. | 5 And on that day, I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of Jezreel." |
| 6 Elle conçut encore, et enfanta une fille. Et le Seigneur dit à Osée : Donne-lui le nom de Sans miséricorde, car à l'avenir je n'aurai plus de miséricorde pour la maison d'Israël, mais je les oublierai entièrement. | 6 She conceived again and bore a daughter. And the LORD said to him, "Call her name Not pitied, for I will no more have pity on the house of Israel, to forgive them at all. |
| 7 Et j'aurai pitié de la maison de Juda, et je les sauverai par le Seigneur leur Dieu, et je ne les sauverai pas par l'arc, ni par l'épée, ni par la guerre, ni par les chevaux, ni par les cavaliers. | 7 But I will have pity on the house of Judah, and I will deliver them by the LORD their God; I will not deliver them by bow, nor by sword, nor by war, nor by horses, nor by horsemen." |
| 8 Elle (Et Gomer) sevra celle (sa fille) qui était appelée Sans miséricorde. Elle conçut encore, et enfanta un fils. | 8 When she had weaned Not pitied, she conceived and bore a son. |
| 9 Et le Seigneur dit : Donne-lui le nom de Pas (Non) mon peuple, car vous n'êtes plus mon peuple, et je ne serai plus votre Dieu. | 9 And the LORD said, "Call his name Not my people, for you are not my people and I am not your God." |
| 10 Et le nombre des enfants d'Israël sera comme le sable de la mer, qui ne peut ni se mesurer ni se compter. Et, au lieu où on leur disait : Vous n'êtes plus mon peuple, on leur dira : (Vous êtes les) Fils du Dieu vivant. | 10 Yet the number of the people of Israel shall be like the sand of the sea, which can be neither measured nor numbered; and in the place where it was said to them, "You are not my people," it shall be said to them, "Sons of the living God." |
| 11 Les enfants (fils) de Juda et les enfants (fils) d'Israël se réuniront ensemble ; ils se donneront un seul chef, et ils sortiront du pays, car le jour de Jezrahel est grand. | 11 And the people of Judah and the people of Israel shall be gathered together, and they shall appoint for themselves one head; and they shall go up from the land, for great shall be the day of Jezreel. |
