1 Pour la fin, instruction de David,	1 Unto the end, understanding for David,
2 lorsque Doëg l'Iduméen vint annoncer cette nouvelle à Saül: David est venu dans la maison d'Achimélech.	2 when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul David went to the house of Achimelech
3 Pourquoi te glorifies-tu dans le mal, * toi qui est vaillant pour commettre l'iniquité?	3 Why dost thou glory in malice, thou that art mighty in iniquity?
4 Tout le jour ta langue a médité l'injustice; * comme un rasoir affilé tu pratiques la tromperie.	4 All the day long thy tongue hath devised injustice: as a sharp razor, thou hast wrought deceit.
5 Tu as plus aimé la malice que la bonté, * l'iniquité plus que les paroles de justice.	5 Thou hast loved malice more than goodness: and iniquity rather than to speak righteousness.
6 Tu as aimé toutes les paroles de ruine, * ô langue trompeuse.	6 Thou hast loved all the words of ruin, O deceitful tongue.
7 C'est pourquoi Dieu te détruira pour toujours; * Il t'arrachera et te fera sortir de ta tente, et Il enlèvera ta racine de la terre des vivants.	7 Therefore will God destroy thee for ever: he will pluck thee out, and remove thee from thy dwelling place: and thy root out of the land of the living.
8 Les justes le verront, et craindront; * et ils se riront de lui, en disant: *	8 The just shall see and fear, and shall laugh at him, and say:
9 Voilà l'homme qui n'a point pris Dieu pour son protecteur, mais qui s'est confié dans la multitude de ses richesses, * et qui s'est prévalu de sa vanité.	9 Behold the man that made not God his helper: But trusted in the abundance of his riches: and prevailed in his vanity.
10 Mais moi, je suis comme un olivier fertile dans la maison de Dieu. * J'espère en la miséricorde de Dieu éternellement et à jamais.	10 But I, as a fruitful olive tree in the house of God, have hoped in the mercy of God for ever, yea for ever and ever.
11 Je Vous louerai sans fin, parce que Vous avez fait cela; * et j'attendrai Votre Nom, parce qu'il est bon, en présence de Vos saints.	11 I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name, for it is good in the sight of thy saints.
