Ephesians 4

1 And so, as a prisoner in the Lord, I beg you to walk in a manner worthy of the vocation to which you have been called:	1 Os exhorto, pues, yo, preso por el Señor, a que viváis de una manera digna de la vocación con que habéis sido llamados,
2 with all humility and meekness, with patience, supporting one another in charity.	2 con toda humildad, mansedumbre y paciencia, soportándoos unos a otros por amor,
3 Be anxious to preserve the unity of the Spirit within the bonds of peace.	3 poniendo empeño en conservar la unidad del Espíritu con el vínculo de la paz.
4 One body and one Spirit: to this you have been called by the one hope of your calling:	4 Un solo Cuerpo y un solo Espíritu, como una es la esperanza a que habéis sido llamados.
5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism,	5 Un solo Señor, una sola fe, un solo bautismo,
6 one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in us all.	6 un solo Dios y Padre de todos, que está sobre todos, por todos y en todos.
7 Yet to each one of us there has been given grace according to the measure allotted by Christ.	7 A cada uno de nosotros le ha sido concedido el favor divino a la medida de los dones de Cristo.
8 Because of this, he says: “Ascending on high, he took captivity itself captive; he gave gifts to men.”	8 Por eso dice: Subiendo a la altura, llevó cautivos y dio dones a los hombres.
9 Now that he has ascended, what is left except for him also to descended, first to the lower parts of the earth?	9 ¿Qué quiere decir «subió» sino que también bajó a las regiones inferiores de la tierra?
10 He who descended is the same one who also ascended above all the heavens, so that he might fulfill everything.	10 Este que bajó es el mismo que subió por encima de todos los cielos, para llenarlo todo.
11 And the same one granted that some would be Apostles, and some Prophets, yet truly others evangelists, and others pastors and teachers,	11 El mismo «dio» a unos el ser apóstoles; a otros, profetas; a otros, evangelizadores; a otros, pastores y maestros,
12 for the sake of the perfection of the saints, by the work of the ministry, in the edification of the body of Christ,	12 para el recto ordenamiento de los santos en orden a las funciones del ministerio, para edificación del Cuerpo de Cristo,
13 until we all meet in the unity of faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, as a perfect man, in the measure of the age of the fullness of Christ.	13 hasta que llegemos todos a la unidad de la fe y del conocimiento pleno del Hijo de Dios, al estado de hombre perfecto, a la madurez de la plenitud de Cristo.
14 So may we then no longer be little children, disturbed and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the wickedness of men, and by the craftiness which deceives unto error.	14 Para que no seamos ya niños, llevados a la deriva y zarandeados por cualquier viento de doctrina, a merced de la malicia humana y de la astucia que conduce engañosamente al error,
15 Instead, acting according to truth in charity, we should increase in everything, in him who is the head, Christ himself.	15 antes bien, siendo sinceros en el amor, crezcamos en todo hasta Aquel que es la Cabeza, Cristo,
16 For in him, the whole body is joined closely together, by every underlying joint, through the function allotted to each part, bringing improvement to the body, toward its edification in charity.	16 de quien todo el Cuerpo recibe trabazón y cohesión por medio de toda clase de junturas que llevan la nutrición según la actividad propia de cada una de las partes, realizando así el crecimiento del cuerpo para su edificación en el amor.
17 And so, I say this, and I testify in the Lord: that from now on you should walk, not as the Gentiles also walk, in the vanity of their mind,	17 Os digo, pues, esto y os conjuro en el Señor, que no viváis ya como viven los gentiles, según la vaciedad de su mente,
18 having their intellect obscured, being alienated from the life of God, through the ignorance that is within them, because of the blindness of their hearts.	18 sumergido su pensamiento en las tinieblas y excluidos de la vida de Dios por la ignorancia que hay en ellos, por la dureza de su cabeza
19 Such as these, despairing, have given themselves over to sexual immorality, carrying out every impurity with rapacity.	19 los cuales, habiendo perdido el sentido moral, se entregaron al libertinaje, hasta practicar con desenfreno toda suerte de impurezas.
20 But this is not what you have learned in Christ.	20 Pero no es éste el Cristo que vosotros habéis aprendido,
21 For certainly, you have listened to him, and you have been instructed in him, according to the truth that is in Jesus:	21 si es que habéis oído hablar de él y en él habéis sido enseñados conforme a la verdad de Jesús
22 to set aside your earlier behavior, the former man, who was corrupted, by means of desire, unto error,	22 a despojaros, en cuanto a vuestra vida anterior, del hombre viejo que se corrompe siguiendo la seducción de las concupiscencias,
23 and so be renewed in the spirit of your mind,	23 a renovar el espíritu de vuestra mente,
24 and so put on the new man, who, in accord with God, is created in justice and in the holiness of truth.	24 y a revestiros del Hombre Nuevo, creado según Dios, en la justicia y santidad de la verdad.
25 Because of this, setting aside lying, speak the truth, each one with his neighbor. For we are all part of one another.	25 Por tanto, desechando la mentira, hablad con verdad cada cual con su prójimo, pues somos miembros los unos de los otros.
26 “Be angry, but do not be willing to sin.” Do not let the sun set over your anger.	26 Si os airáis, no pequéis; no se ponga el sol mientras estéis airados,
27 Provide no place for the devil.	27 ni deis ocasión al Diablo.
28 Whoever was stealing, let him now not steal, but rather let him labor, working with his hands, doing what is good, so that he may have something to distribute to those who suffer need.	28 El que robaba, que ya no robe, sino que trabaje con sus manos, haciendo algo útil para que pueda hacer partícipe al que se halle en necesidad.
29 Let no evil words proceed from your mouth, but only what is good, toward the edification of faith, so as to bestow grace upon those who listen.	29 No salga de vuestra boca palabra dañosa, sino la que sea conveniente para edificar según la necesidad y hacer el bien a los que os escuchen.
30 And do not be willing to grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you have been sealed, unto the day of redemption.	30 No entristezcáis al Espíritu Santo de Dios, con el que fuisteis sellados para el día de la redención.
31 Let all bitterness and anger and indignation and outcry and blasphemy be taken away from you, along with all malice.	31 Toda acritud, ira, cólera, gritos, maledicencia y cualquier clase de maldad, desaparezca de entre vosotros.
32 And be kind and merciful to one another, forgiving one another, just as God has forgiven you in Christ.	32 Sed más bien buenos entre vosotros, entrañables, perdonándoos mutuamente como os perdonó Dios en Cristo.
