1 Unto the end. For the octave. A Psalm of David.	1 Per il capocoro. Salmo. Di David. In Jahvè mi rifugio! Come potete dire alla mia anima: «Vattene al monte come un passero?»,
2 Save me, O Lord, because holiness has passed away, because truths have been diminished, before the sons of men.	2 Ecco i peccatori tendono l’arco, incoccano la loro saetta sul nervo, per saettare all’oscuro i retti di cuore.
3 They have been speaking emptiness, each one to his neighbor; they have been speaking with deceitful lips and a duplicitous heart.	3 Quando le fondamenta sono scalzate, il giusto che deve fare?
4 May the Lord scatter all deceitful lips, along with the tongue that speaks malice.	4 Jahvè è nel suo tempio santo, Jahvè ha nel cielo il suo trono. I suoi occhi osservano il mondo, le sue palpebre scrutano i figli dell’uomo.
5 They have said: “We will magnify our tongue; our lips belong to us. What is Lord to us?”	5 Jahvè scruta il giusto e il perverso e la sua anima ha in odio chi ama la violenza.
6 Because of the misery of the destitute and the groaning of the poor, now I will arise, says the Lord. I will place him in safety. I will act faithfully toward him.	6 Fa piovere sui peccatori carboni ardenti e zolfo e turbine fiammeggiante è porzione della loro coppa.
7 The eloquence of the Lord is pure eloquence, silver tested by fire, purged from the earth, refined seven times.	7 Perché il giusto, Jahvè delle giustizie lo ama; l’uomo retto, lo scruta il suo volto.
8 You, O Lord, will preserve us, and you will guard us from this generation into eternity.
9 The impious wander aimlessly. According to your loftiness, you have multiplied the sons of men.
