LXXKING JAMES BIBLE
υπολαβων δε ελιφας ο θαιμανιτης λεγει1 Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said,
ποτερον σοφος αποκρισιν δωσει συνεσεως πνευματος και ενεπλησεν πονον γαστρος2 Should a wise man utter vain knowledge, and fill his belly with the east wind?
ελεγχων εν ρημασιν οις ου δει εν λογοις οις ουδεν οφελος3 Should he reason with unprofitable talk? or with speeches wherewith he can do no good?
ου και συ απεποιησω φοβον συνετελεσω δε ρηματα τοιαυτα εναντι του κυριου4 Yea, thou castest off fear, and restrainest prayer before God.
ενοχος ει ρημασιν στοματος σου ουδε διεκρινας ρηματα δυναστων5 For thy mouth uttereth thine iniquity, and thou choosest the tongue of the crafty.
ελεγξαι σε το σον στομα και μη εγω τα δε χειλη σου καταμαρτυρησουσιν σου6 Thine own mouth condemneth thee, and not I: yea, thine own lips testify against thee.
τι γαρ μη πρωτος ανθρωπων εγενηθης η προ θινων επαγης7 Art thou the first man that was born? or wast thou made before the hills?
η συνταγμα κυριου ακηκοας εις δε σε αφικετο σοφια8 Hast thou heard the secret of God? and dost thou restrain wisdom to thyself?
τι γαρ οιδας ο ουκ οιδαμεν η τι συνιεις ο ουχι και ημεις9 What knowest thou, that we know not? what understandest thou, which is not in us?
και γε πρεσβυτης και γε παλαιος εν ημιν βαρυτερος του πατρος σου ημεραις10 With us are both the grayheaded and very aged men, much elder than thy father.
ολιγα ων ημαρτηκας μεμαστιγωσαι μεγαλως υπερβαλλοντως λελαληκας11 Are the consolations of God small with thee? is there any secret thing with thee?
τι ετολμησεν η καρδια σου η τι επηνεγκαν οι οφθαλμοι σου12 Why doth thine heart carry thee away? and what do thy eyes wink at,
οτι θυμον ερρηξας εναντι κυριου εξηγαγες δε εκ στοματος ρηματα τοιαυτα13 That thou turnest thy spirit against God, and lettest such words go out of thy mouth?
τις γαρ ων βροτος οτι εσται αμεμπτος η ως εσομενος δικαιος γεννητος γυναικος14 What is man, that he should be clean? and he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?
ει κατα αγιων ου πιστευει ουρανος δε ου καθαρος εναντιον αυτου15 Behold, he putteth no trust in his saints; yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight.
εα δε εβδελυγμενος και ακαθαρτος ανηρ πινων αδικιας ισα ποτω16 How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinketh iniquity like water?
αναγγελω δε σοι ακουε μου α δη εωρακα αναγγελω σοι17 I will shew thee, hear me; and that which I have seen I will declare;
α σοφοι ερουσιν και ουκ εκρυψαν πατερας αυτων18 Which wise men have told from their fathers, and have not hid it:
αυτοις μονοις εδοθη η γη και ουκ επηλθεν αλλογενης επ' αυτους19 Unto whom alone the earth was given, and no stranger passed among them.
πας ο βιος ασεβους εν φροντιδι ετη δε αριθμητα δεδομενα δυναστη20 The wicked man travaileth with pain all his days, and the number of years is hidden to the oppressor.
ο δε φοβος αυτου εν ωσιν αυτου οταν δοκη ηδη ειρηνευειν ηξει αυτου η καταστροφη21 A dreadful sound is in his ears: in prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him.
μη πιστευετω αποστραφηναι απο σκοτους εντεταλται γαρ ηδη εις χειρας σιδηρου22 He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for of the sword.
κατατετακται δε εις σιτα γυψιν οιδεν δε εν εαυτω οτι μενει εις πτωμα ημερα δε αυτον σκοτεινη στροβησει23 He wandereth abroad for bread, saying, Where is it? he knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.
αναγκη δε και θλιψις αυτον καθεξει ωσπερ στρατηγος πρωτοστατης πιπτων24 Trouble and anguish shall make him afraid; they shall prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle.
οτι ηρκεν χειρας εναντιον του κυριου εναντι δε κυριου παντοκρατορος ετραχηλιασεν25 For he stretcheth out his hand against God, and strengtheneth himself against the Almighty.
εδραμεν δε εναντιον αυτου υβρει εν παχει νωτου ασπιδος αυτου26 He runneth upon him, even on his neck, upon the thick bosses of his bucklers:
οτι εκαλυψεν το προσωπον αυτου εν στεατι αυτου και εποιησεν περιστομιον επι των μηριων27 Because he covereth his face with his fatness, and maketh collops of fat on his flanks.
αυλισθειη δε πολεις ερημους εισελθοι δε εις οικους αοικητους α δε εκεινοι ητοιμασαν αλλοι αποισονται28 And he dwelleth in desolate cities, and in houses which no man inhabiteth, which are ready to become heaps.
ουτε μη πλουτισθη ουτε μη μεινη αυτου τα υπαρχοντα ου μη βαλη επι την γην σκιαν29 He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall he prolong the perfection thereof upon the earth.
ουδε μη εκφυγη το σκοτος τον βλαστον αυτου μαραναι ανεμος εκπεσοι δε αυτου το ανθος30 He shall not depart out of darkness; the flame shall dry up his branches, and by the breath of his mouth shall he go away.
μη πιστευετω οτι υπομενει κενα γαρ αποβησεται αυτω31 Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity: for vanity shall be his recompence.
η τομη αυτου προ ωρας φθαρησεται και ο ραδαμνος αυτου ου μη πυκαση32 It shall be accomplished before his time, and his branch shall not be green.
τρυγηθειη δε ωσπερ ομφαξ προ ωρας εκπεσοι δε ως ανθος ελαιας33 He shall shake off his unripe grape as the vine, and shall cast off his flower as the olive.
μαρτυριον γαρ ασεβους θανατος πυρ δε καυσει οικους δωροδεκτων34 For the congregation of hypocrites shall be desolate, and fire shall consume the tabernacles of bribery.
εν γαστρι δε λημψεται οδυνας αποβησεται δε αυτω κενα η δε κοιλια αυτου υποισει δολον35 They conceive mischief, and bring forth vanity, and their belly prepareth deceit.
