1 Cuando fueron deportados a Babilonia por sus infidelidades, todos los israelitas estaban registrados e inscritos en el libro de los Reyes de Israel y Judá.	1 Thus all Israel was inscribed in its family records which are recorded in the book of the kings of Israel.Now Judah had been carried in captivity to Babylon because of its rebellion.
2 Los primeros ocupantes de sus poblados, posesiones y ciudades fueron israelitas, sacerdotes, levitas y donados.	2 The first to settle again in their cities and dwell there were certain lay Israelites, the priests, the Levites, and the temple slaves.
3 En Jerusalén se establecieron judaítas, benjaminitas, efraimitas y manasitas.	3 In Jerusalem lived Judahites and Benjaminites; also Ephraimites and Manassehites.
4 De los judaítas, Utay, hijo de Amihud, hijo de Omrí, hijo de Imrí, hijo de Baní, descendiente de Fares, hijo de Judá.	4 Among the Judahites was Uthai, son of Ammihud, son of Omri, son of Imri, son of Bani, one of the descendants of Perez, son of Judah.
5 De los silonitas: Asaías, el primogénito, y sus hijos.	5 Among the Shelanites were Asaiah, the first-born, and his sons.
6 De los zerajitas, Yeuel y sus parientes, seiscientos noventa en total.	6 Among the Zerahites were Jeuel and six hundred and ninety of their brethren.
7 De los benjaminitas, Salú, hijo de Mesulán, hijo de Hodavías, hijo de Hasenuá;	7 Among the Benjaminites were Sallu, son of Meshullam, son of Hodaviah, son of Hassenuah;
8 Yibnaías, hijo de Yeroján; Elá, hijo de Micrí; Mesulán, hijo de Sefatías, hijo de Reuel, hijo de Yibnías,	8 Ibneiah, son of Jeroham; Elah, son of Uzzi, son of Michri; Meshullam, son of Shephatiah, son of Reuel, son of Ibnijah.
9 y sus parientes registrados, que sumaban novecientos cincuenta y seis. Todos ellos eran cabezas de familia en sus respectivas casas paternas.	9 Their kindred of various families were nine hundred and fifty-six. All those named were heads of their ancestral houses.
10 De los sacerdotes, Yedaías, Yehoyarib y Yaquín.	10 Among the priests were Jedaiah; Jehoiarib; Jachin;
11 Azarías, hijo de Jilquías, hijo de Mesulán, hijo de Sadoc, hijo de Merayot, hijo de Ajitub, era prefecto del templo de Dios.	11 Azariah, son of Hilkiah, son of Meshullam, son of Zadok, son of Meraioth, son of Ahitub, the ruler of the house of God;
12 Adaías, hijo de Yeroján, hijo de Pasjur, hijo de Malquías; Masay, hijo de Adiel, hijo de Yajzera, hijo de Mesulán, hijo de Misilemit, hijo de Imer,	12 Adaiah, son of Jeroham, son of Pashhur, son of Malchijah; Maasai, son of Adiel, son of Jahzerah, son of Meshullam, son of Meshillemith, son of Immer.
13 y sus parientes eran cabezas de familia, mil setecientos sesenta hombres aptos para el servicio del templo de Dios.	13 Their brethren, heads of their ancestral houses, were one thousand seven hundred and sixty, valiant for the work of the service of the house of God.
14 De los levitas, Semaías, hijo de Jasub, hijo de Azricán, hijo de Jasabías, merarita;	14 Among the Levites were Shemaiah, son of Hasshub, son of Azrikam, son of Hashabiah, one of the descendants of Merari;
15 Bacbacar, Jeres, Galal y Matanías, hijo de Micá, hijo de Zicrí, hijo de Asaf;	15 Bakbakkar; Heresh; Galal; Mattaniah, son of Mica, son of Zichri, a descendant of Asaph;
16 Abdías, hijo de Semaías, hijo de Galal, hijo de Yedutún; Berequías, hijo de Asaf, hijo de Elcaná, que vivía en alquerías netofatíes.	16 Obadiah, son of Shemaiah, son of Galal, a descendant of Jeduthun; and Berechiah, son of Asa, son of Elkanah, whose family lived in the villages of the Netophathites.
17 Los porteros eran Salún, Acub, Talmón, Ajimán; su hermano Salún era el jefe.	17 The gatekeepers were Shallum, Akkub, Talmon, Ahiman, and their brethren; Shallum was the chief.
18 Estos, del grupo de los levitas, han sido porteros de la puerta real, al oriente, hasta el momento actual.	18 Previously they had stood guard at the king's gate on the east side; now they became gatekeepers for the encampments of the Levites.
19 Salún, hijo de Coré, hijo de Abiasaf, hijo de Coré, y sus hermanos de la familia coreíta estaban encargados del servicio cultual como guardianes de los umbrales de la Tienda; sus antepasados habían hecho guardia a la entrada del campamento del Señor.	19 Shallum, son of Kore, son of Ebiasaph, a descendant of Korah, and his brethren of the same ancestral house of the Korahites had as their assigned task the guarding of the threshold of the tent, just as their fathers had guarded the entrance to the encampment of the LORD.
20 Antiguamente su jefe había sido Pinjás, hijo de Eleazar; el Señor estaba con él.	20 Phinehas, son of Eleazar, had been their chief in times past--the LORD be with him!
21 Zacarías, hijo de Meselemías, atendía como portero a la entrada de la Tienda del Encuentro.	21 Zechariah, son of Meshelemiah, guarded the gate of the meeting tent.
22 El total de los elegidos para porteros de las entradas era de doscientos doce. Estaban registrados por poblaciones. David y el vidente Samuel los habían elegido por su fidelidad.	22 In all, those who were chosen for gatekeepers at the threshold were two hundred and twelve. They were inscribed in the family records of their villages. David and Samuel the seer had established them in their position of trust.
23 Ellos y sus descendientes eran los encargados de custodiar las puertas de la Tienda, es decir, el templo del Señor.	23 Thus they and their sons kept guard over the gates of the house of the LORD, the house which was then a tent.
24 Había porteros en las cuatro direcciones: Este, Oeste, Norte y Sur.	24 The gatekeepers were stationed at the four sides, to the east, the west, the north, and the south.
25 Sus parientes, que vivían en sus alquerías, tenían que venir periódicamente para estar con ellos durante siete días.	25 Their kinsmen who lived in their own villages took turns in assisting them for seven-day periods,
26 Los cuatro porteros principales tenían servicio permanente; eran levitas y estaban al cuidado de las cámaras y almacenes del templo de Dios.	26 while the four chief gatekeepers were on constant duty. These were the Levites who also had charge of the chambers and treasures of the house of God.
27 Pernoctaban en el entorno del templo de Dios, pues debían custodiarlo y abrirlo cada mañana.	27 At night they lodged about the house of God, for it was in their charge and they had the duty of opening it each morning.
28 Algunos levitas estaban encargados de los objetos del culto; los contaban al recibirlos y al entregarlos.	28 Some of them had charge of the liturgical equipment, tallying it as it was brought in and taken out.
29 Otros se encargaban de los utensilios, los vasos del santuario, la harina, el vino, el aceite, el incienso y los aromas.	29 Others were appointed to take care of the utensils and all the sacred vessels, as well as the fine flour, the wine, the oil, the frankincense, and the spices.
30 Algunos sacerdotes preparaban los perfumes aromáticos.	30 It was the sons of priests, however, who mixed the spiced ointments.
31 Matatías, uno de los levitas, el primogénito de Salún, coreíta, estaba al cuidado constante de las cosas que se preparaban en sartén.	31 Mattithiah, one of the Levites, the first-born of Shallum the Koreite, was entrusted with preparing the cakes.
32 Algunos de sus parientes queatitas preparaban cada sábado el pan de la proposición.	32 Benaiah the Kohathite, one of their brethren, was in charge of setting out the showbread each sabbath.
33 Había también cantores, cabezas de familias levíticas; moraban en las habitaciones del templo, exentos de otros servicios, pues día y noche se ocupaban de su ministerio.	33 These were the chanters and the gatekeepers, family heads over the Levites. They stayed in the chambers when free of duty, for day and night they had to be ready for service.
34 Estos eran genealógicamente los cabezas de familia de los levitas, sus jefes. Residían en Jerusalén.	34 These were the levitical family heads over their kindred, chiefs who dwelt in Jerusalem.
35 Yeiel, fundador de Gabaón, residía allí; su mujer se llamaba Maacá.	35 In Gibeon dwelt Jeiel, the founder of Gibeon, whose wife's name was Maacah.
36 Su primogénito era Abdón; después venían Sur, Quis, Baal, Ner, Nadab,	36 His first-born son was Abdon; then came Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab,
37 Guedor, Ajió, Zacarías y Miclot.	37 Gedor, Ahio, Zechariah, and Mikloth.
38 Miclot engendró a Simá. También estos, igual que sus hermanos, habitaban en Jerusalén, con sus parientes.	38 Mikloth became the father of Shimeam. These, too, with their brethren, dwelt opposite their brethren in Jerusalem.
39 Ner engendró a Quis, y este engendró a Saúl; Saúl engendró a Jonatán, Malquisúa, Abinadab y Esbaal.	39 Ner became the father of Kish, and Kish became the father of Saul. Saul became the father of Jonathan, Malchishua, Abinadab, and Eshbaal.
40 Hijo de Jonatán fue Meribaal, que engendró a Micá.	40 The son of Jonathan was Meribbaal, and Meribbaal became the father of Micah.
41 Los hijos de Micá se llamaban Pitón, Mélec, Tajrea y Ajaz.	41 The sons of Micah were Pithon, Melech, Tahrea, and Ahaz.
42 Ajaz engendró a Yará, y este engendró a Alémet, Azmávet y Zimrí; Zimrí engendró a Mosá,	42 Ahaz became the father of Jehoaddah, and Jehoaddah became the father of Alemeth, Azmaveth, and Zimri. Zimri became the father of Moza.
43 y este engendró a Biná, padre de Rafaías, padre de Eleasá, padre de Asel.	43 Moza became the father of Binea, whose son was Rephaiah, whose son was Eleasah, whose son was Azel.
44 Asel tuvo seis hijos, llamados Azricán, Bocrú, Ismael, Searías, Abdías y Janán; todos eran hijos de Asel.	44 Azel had six sons, whose names were Azrikam, his first-born, Ishmael, Sheariah, Azariah, Obadiah, and Hanan; these were the sons of Azel.
