EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 Pablo, Apóstol de Jesucristo por la voluntad de Dios, saluda a los santos que creen en Cristo Jesús.	1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God, to all the saints who are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus.
2 Llegue a ustedes la gracia y la paz de parte de Dios, nuestro Padre, y del Señor Jesucristo.	2 Grace be to you, and peace from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Bendito sea Dios, el Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que nos ha bendecido en Cristo con toda clase de bienes espirituales en el cielo,	3 Blessed by the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with spiritual blessings in heavenly places, in Christ:
4 y nos ha elegido en él, antes de la creación del mundo, para que fuéramos santos e irreprochables en su presencia, por el amor.	4 As he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and unspotted in his sight in charity.
5 El nos predestinó a ser sus hijos adoptivos por medio de Jesucristo, conforme al beneplácito de su voluntad,	5 Who hath predestinated us unto the adoption of children through Jesus Christ unto himself: according to the purpose of his will:
6 para alabanza de la gloria de su gracia, que nos dio en su Hijo muy querido.	6 Unto the praise of the glory of his grace, in which he hath graced us in his beloved son.
7 En él hemos sido redimidos por su sangre y hemos recibido el perdón de los pecados, según la riqueza de su gracia,	7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the remission of sins, according to the riches of his grace,
8 que Dios derramó sobre nosotros, dándonos toda sabiduría y entendimiento.	8 Which hath superabounded in us in all wisdom and prudence,
9 El nos hizo conocer el misterio de su voluntad, conforme al designio misericordioso que estableció de antemano en Cristo,	9 That he might make known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure, which he hath purposed in him,
10 para que se cumpliera en la plenitud de los tiempos: reunir todas las cosas, las del cielo y las de la tierra, bajo un solo jefe, que es Cristo.	10 In the dispensation of the fulness of times, to re-establish all things in Christ, that are in heaven and on earth, in him.
11 En él hemos sido constituidos herederos, y destinados de antemano –según el previo designio del que realiza todas las cosas conforme a su voluntad–	11 In whom we also are called by lot, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things according to the counsel of his will.
12 a ser aquellos que han puesto su esperanza en Cristo, para alabanza de su gloria.	12 That we may be unto the praise of his glory, we who before hoped Christ:
13 En él, ustedes, los que escucharon la Palabra de la verdad, la Buena Noticia de la salvación, y creyeron en ella, también han sido marcados con un sello por el Espíritu Santo prometido.	13 In whom you also, after you had heard the word of truth, (the gospel of your salvation;) in whom also believing, you were signed with the holy Spirit of promise,
14 Ese Espíritu es el anticipo de nuestra herencia y prepara la redención del pueblo que Dios adquirió para sí, para alabanza de su gloria.	14 Who is the pledge of our inheritance, unto the redemption of acquisition, unto the praise of his glory.
15 Por eso, habiéndome enterado de la fe que ustedes tienen en el Señor Jesús y del amor que demuestran por todos los hermanos,	15 Wherefore I also, hearing of your faith that is in the Lord Jesus, and of your love towards all the saints,
16 doy gracias sin cesar por ustedes recordándoles siempre en mis oraciones	16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making commemoration of you in my prayers,
17 Que el Dios de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, el Padre de la gloria, les conceda un espíritu de sabiduría y de revelación que les permita conocerlo verdaderamente.	17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and of revelation, in the knowledge of him:
18 Que él ilumine sus corazones, para que ustedes puedan valorar la esperanza a la que han sido llamados, los tesoros de gloria que encierra su herencia entre los santos,	18 The eyes of your heart enlightened, that you may know what the hope is of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.
19 y la extraordinaria grandeza del poder con que él obra en nosotros, los creyentes, por la eficacia de su fuerza. Este es el mismo poder	19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power towards us, who believe according to the operation of the might of his power,
20 que Dios manifestó en Cristo, cuando lo resucitó de entre los muertos y lo hizo sentar a su derecha en el cielo,	20 Which he wrought in Christ, raising him up from the dead, and setting him on his right hand in the heavenly places.
21 elevándolo por encima de todo Principado, Potestad, Poder y Dominación, y de cualquier otra dignidad que pueda mencionarse tanto en este mundo como en el futuro.	21 Above all principality, and power, and virtue, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come.
22 El puso todas las cosas bajo sus pies y lo constituyó, por encima de todo, Cabeza de la Iglesia,	22 And he hath subjected all things under his feet, and hath made him head over all the church,
23 que es su Cuerpo y la Plenitud de aquel que llena completamente todas las cosas.	23 Which is his body, and the fulness of him who is filled all in all.
