EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAIN
1 Pablo, Apóstol de Jesucristo por la voluntad de Dios, saluda a los santos que creen en Cristo Jesús.	1 Paul, an Apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, to all the saints who are at Ephesus and to the faithful in Christ Jesus.
2 Llegue a ustedes la gracia y la paz de parte de Dios, nuestro Padre, y del Señor Jesucristo.	2 Grace and peace to you from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Bendito sea Dios, el Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que nos ha bendecido en Cristo con toda clase de bienes espirituales en el cielo,	3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavens, in Christ,
4 y nos ha elegido en él, antes de la creación del mundo, para que fuéramos santos e irreprochables en su presencia, por el amor.	4 just as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, so that we would be holy and immaculate in his sight, in charity.
5 El nos predestinó a ser sus hijos adoptivos por medio de Jesucristo, conforme al beneplácito de su voluntad,	5 He has predestined us to adoption as sons, through Jesus Christ, in himself, according to the purpose of his will,
6 para alabanza de la gloria de su gracia, que nos dio en su Hijo muy querido.	6 for the praise of the glory of his grace, with which he has gifted us in his beloved Son.
7 En él hemos sido redimidos por su sangre y hemos recibido el perdón de los pecados, según la riqueza de su gracia,	7 In him, we have redemption through his blood: the remission of sins in accord with the riches of his grace,
8 que Dios derramó sobre nosotros, dándonos toda sabiduría y entendimiento.	8 which is superabundant in us, with all wisdom and prudence.
9 El nos hizo conocer el misterio de su voluntad, conforme al designio misericordioso que estableció de antemano en Cristo,	9 So does he make known to us the mystery of his will, which he has set forth in Christ, in a manner well-pleasing to him,
10 para que se cumpliera en la plenitud de los tiempos: reunir todas las cosas, las del cielo y las de la tierra, bajo un solo jefe, que es Cristo.	10 in the dispensation of the fullness of time, so as to renew in Christ everything that exists through him in heaven and on earth.
11 En él hemos sido constituidos herederos, y destinados de antemano –según el previo designio del que realiza todas las cosas conforme a su voluntad–	11 In him, we too are called to our portion, having been predestined in accord with the plan of the One who accomplishes all things by the counsel of his will.
12 a ser aquellos que han puesto su esperanza en Cristo, para alabanza de su gloria.	12 So may we be, to the praise of his glory, we who have hoped beforehand in Christ.
13 En él, ustedes, los que escucharon la Palabra de la verdad, la Buena Noticia de la salvación, y creyeron en ella, también han sido marcados con un sello por el Espíritu Santo prometido.	13 In him, you also, after you heard and believed the Word of truth, which is the Gospel of your salvation, were sealed with the Holy Spirit of the Promise.
14 Ese Espíritu es el anticipo de nuestra herencia y prepara la redención del pueblo que Dios adquirió para sí, para alabanza de su gloria.	14 He is the pledge of our inheritance, unto the acquisition of redemption, to the praise of his glory.
15 Por eso, habiéndome enterado de la fe que ustedes tienen en el Señor Jesús y del amor que demuestran por todos los hermanos,	15 Because of this, and hearing of your faith that is in the Lord Jesus, and of your love toward all the saints,
16 doy gracias sin cesar por ustedes recordándoles siempre en mis oraciones	16 I have not ceased giving thanks for you, calling you to mind in my prayers,
17 Que el Dios de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, el Padre de la gloria, les conceda un espíritu de sabiduría y de revelación que les permita conocerlo verdaderamente.	17 so that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give a spirit of wisdom and of revelation to you, in knowledge of him.
18 Que él ilumine sus corazones, para que ustedes puedan valorar la esperanza a la que han sido llamados, los tesoros de gloria que encierra su herencia entre los santos,	18 May the eyes of your heart be illuminated, so that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and the wealth of the glory of his inheritance with the saints,
19 y la extraordinaria grandeza del poder con que él obra en nosotros, los creyentes, por la eficacia de su fuerza. Este es el mismo poder	19 and the preeminent magnitude of his virtue toward us, toward we who believe in accord with the work of his powerful virtue,
20 que Dios manifestó en Cristo, cuando lo resucitó de entre los muertos y lo hizo sentar a su derecha en el cielo,	20 which he wrought in Christ, raising him from the dead and establishing him at his right hand in the heavens,
21 elevándolo por encima de todo Principado, Potestad, Poder y Dominación, y de cualquier otra dignidad que pueda mencionarse tanto en este mundo como en el futuro.	21 above every principality and power and virtue and dominion, and above every name that is given, not only in this age, but even in the future age.
22 El puso todas las cosas bajo sus pies y lo constituyó, por encima de todo, Cabeza de la Iglesia,	22 And he has subjected all things under his feet, and he has made him the head over the entire Church,
23 que es su Cuerpo y la Plenitud de aquel que llena completamente todas las cosas.	23 which is his body and which is the fullness of him who accomplishes everything in everyone.
