1 In quanto a colui che è debole nella fede, accoglietelo senza discuterne le opinioni.	1 But accept those who are weak in faith, without disputing about ideas.
2 Altri crede di poter mangiare qualunque cosa; chi è debole mangi pure degli erbaggi.	2 For one person believes that he may eat all things, but if another is weak, let him eat plants.
3 Ma chi mangia non disprezzi colui che non mangia, e chi non mangia non condanni colui che mangia, perchè Dio l'ha fatto suo.	3 He who eats should not despise him who does not eat. And he who does not eat should not judge him who eats. For God has accepted him.
4 E chi sei tu da condannare il servo altrui? O che egli stia ritto o cada, è cosa che riguarda il suo padrone; ma egli starà in piedi perchè Dio ha la potenza di sostenerlo.	4 Who are you to judge the servant of another? He stands or falls by his own Lord. But he shall stand. For God is able to make him stand.
5 Uno distingue tra giorno e giorno, un altro li fa tutti uguali: ognuno segua la sua coscienza.	5 For one person discerns one age from the next. But another discerns unto every age. Let each one increase according to his own mind.
6 Chi distingue i giorni, li distingue per amore del Signore; e chi mangia, lo fa per amore del Signore; infatti rende grazie a Dio. Ed anche chi non mangia, non mangia per amore del Signore e rende grazie a Dio.	6 He who understands the age, understands for the Lord. And he who eats, eats for the Lord; for he gives thanks to God. And he who does not eat, does not eat for the Lord, and he gives thanks to God.
7 Poichè nessuno di noi vive per se medesimo, nè per se stesso muore;	7 For none of us lives for himself, and none of us dies for himself.
8 ma se viviamo, viviamo pel Signore, e se moriamo, moriamo pel Signore. Sia che viviamo, sia che moriamo, siamo dunque del Signore;	8 For if we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
9 perchè Cristo è morto e risuscitato per essere Signore dei vivi e dei morti.	9 For Christ died and rose again for this purpose: that he might be the ruler of both the dead and the living.
10 Ma tu perchè giudichi il tuo fratello? O perchè tu disprezzi il tuo fratello? Tutti invece compariremo davanti al tribunale di Cristo.	10 So then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you despise your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
11 Sta scritto infatti: « Io sono il vivente, dice il Signore, e davanti a me si piegherà ogni ginocchio, ed ogni lingua darà gloria a Dio».	11 For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bend to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.”
12 Così adunque ognuno di noi renderà conto di se stesso a Dio.	12 And so, each one of us shall offer an explanation of himself to God.
13 Cessiamo adunque dal giudicarci a vicenda; ma guardiamo invece di non mettere inciampo o scandalo sulla via del fratello.	13 Therefore, we should no longer judge one another. Instead, judge this to a greater extent: that you should not place an obstacle before your brother, nor lead him astray.
14 Io so e son persuaso nel Signore Gesù che nulla è in se stesso impuro; ma per colui che stima impura una cosa, essa per lui diventa impura.	14 I know, with confidence in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in and of itself. But to him who considers anything to be unclean, it is unclean to him.
15 Or se per un cibo fai rattristare il tuo fratello, tu non cammini più secondo la carità. Non rovinare col tuo cibo uno per il quale Cristo è morto.	15 For if your brother is grieved because of your food, you are not now walking according to love. Do not allow your food to destroy him for whom Christ died.
16 Non sia dunque bestemmiato il nostro bene.	16 Therefore, what is good for us should not be a cause of blasphemy.
17 Perché il regno di Dio non consiste nel mangiare e nel bere, ma è giustizia e pace e gaudio nello Spirito Santo.	17 For the kingdom of God is not food and drink, but rather justice and peace and joy, in the Holy Spirit.
18 Chi serve Cristo in questa maniera piace a Dio ed è approvato dagli uomini.	18 For he who serves Christ in this, pleases God and is proven before men.
19 Cerchiamo dunque ciò che giova alla pace, e pratichiamo ciò che serve alla mutua edificazione.	19 And so, let us pursue the things that are of peace, and let us keep to the things that are for the edification of one another.
20 Non voler per un cibo distruggere l'opera di Dio. Certamente tutte le cose sono pure, ma fa male un uomo che mangia scandalizzando.	20 Do not be willing to destroy the work of God because of food. Certainly, all things are clean. But there is harm for a man who offends by eating.
21 Bene è non mangiar carne e non bere vino, nè fare alcuna cosa che sia per il tuo fratello occasione di caduta o di scandalo o di debolezza.	21 It is good to refrain from eating meat and from drinking wine, and from anything by which your brother is offended, or led astray, or weakened.
22 Tu hai una convinzione? Tientela per te dinanzi a Dio. Beato colui che non condanna se stesso in quello che sceglie.	22 Do you have faith? It belongs to you, so hold it before God. Blessed is he who does not judge himself in that by which he is tested.
23 Ma chi fa distinzione, se mangia, è condannato, perchè non agisce secondo coscienza. Tutto ciò che non è secondo la coscienza è peccato.	23 But he who discerns, if he eats, is condemned, because it is not of faith. For all that is not of faith is sin.
