1 Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest remains, let us fear lest any of you be judged to have failed to reach it.	1 Temamos, no sea que, estando aún en vigor la promesa de entrar en su descanso, alguno de vosotros crea haber perdido la oportunidad.
2 For good news came to us just as to them; but the message which they heard did not benefit them, because it did not meet with faith in the hearers.	2 También nosotros hemos recibido la buena noticia, igual que ellos; pero el mensaje que oyeron no les sirvió de nada a quienes no se adhirieron por la fe a los que lo habían escuchado.
3 For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said, "As I swore in my wrath, 'They shall never enter my rest," although his works were finished from the foundation of the world.	3 Así pues, los creyentes entremos en el descanso, de acuerdo con lo dicho: He jurado en mi cólera | que no entrarán en mi descanso, y eso que sus obras estaban terminadas desde la creación del mundo.
4 For he has somewhere spoken of the seventh day in this way, "And God rested on the seventh day from all his works."	4 Acerca del día séptimo se dijo: Y descansó Dios el día séptimo de todo el trabajo que había hecho.
5 And again in this place he said, "They shall never enter my rest."	5 En nuestro pasaje añade: No entrarán en mi descanso.
6 Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience,	6 Puesto que, según esto, quedan algunos por entrar en él, y los primeros que recibieron la buena noticia no entraron por su rebeldía,
7 again he sets a certain day, "Today," saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted, "Today, when you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts."	7 Dios señala otro día, hoy, al decir mucho tiempo después, por boca de David, lo antes citado: Si escucháis hoy su voz, | no endurezcáis vuestros corazones.
8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not speak later of another day.	8 Si Josué les hubiera dado el descanso, Dios no habría hablado luego de otro día;
9 So then, there remains a sabbath rest for the people of God;	9 por consiguiente, todavía queda un tiempo de descanso para el pueblo de Dios,
10 for whoever enters God's rest also ceases from his labors as God did from his.	10 pues el que entra en su descanso, también él descansa de sus tareas, como Dios de la suyas.
11 Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, that no one fall by the same sort of disobedience.	11 Empeñémonos, por tanto, en entrar en aquel descanso, para que nadie caiga, imitando aquella desobediencia.
12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.	12 Porque la palabra de Dios es viva y eficaz, más tajante que espada de doble filo; penetra hasta el punto donde se dividen alma y espíritu, coyunturas y tuétanos; juzga los deseos e intenciones del corazón.
13 And before him no creature is hidden, but all are open and laid bare to the eyes of him with whom we have to do.	13 Nada se le oculta; todo está patente y descubierto a los ojos de aquel a quien hemos de rendir cuentas.
14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.	14 Así pues, ya que tenemos un sumo sacerdote grande que ha atravesado el cielo, Jesús, Hijo de Dios, mantengamos firme la confesión de fe.
15 For we have not a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.	15 No tenemos un sumo sacerdote incapaz de compadecerse de nuestras debilidades, sino que ha sido probado en todo, como nosotros, menos en el pecado.
16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.	16 Por eso, comparezcamos confiados ante el trono de la gracia, para alcanzar misericordia y encontrar gracia para un auxilio oportuno.
