1 Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, to the Church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace.	1 Pablo, Silvano y Timoteo a la Iglesia de los Tesalonicenses, en Dios Padre y en el Señor Jesucristo. A vosotros, gracia y paz.
2 We give thanks to God always for you all, constantly mentioning you in our prayers.	2 En todo momento damos gracias a Dios por todos vosotros y os tenemos presentes en nuestras oraciones,
3 remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.	3 pues sin cesar recordamos ante Dios, nuestro Padre, la actividad de vuestra fe, el esfuerzo de vuestro amor y la firmeza de vuestra esperanza en Jesucristo nuestro Señor.
4 For we know, brethren beloved by God, that he has chosen you;	4 Bien sabemos, hermanos amados de Dios, que él os ha elegido,
5 for our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. You know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake.	5 pues cuando os anuncié nuestro evangelio, no fue solo de palabra, sino también con la fuerza del Espíritu Santo y con plena convicción. Sabéis cómo nos comportamos entre vosotros para vuestro bien.
6 And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you received the word in much affliction, with joy inspired by the Holy Spirit;	6 Y vosotros seguisteis nuestro ejemplo y el del Señor, acogiendo la Palabra en medio de una gran tribulación, con la alegría del Espíritu Santo.
7 so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia.	7 Así llegasteis a ser un modelo para todos los creyentes de Macedonia y de Acaya.
8 For not only has the word of the Lord sounded forth from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone forth everywhere, so that we need not say anything.	8 No solo ha resonado la palabra del Señor en Macedonia y en Acaya desde vuestra comunidad, sino que además vuestra fe en Dios se ha difundido por doquier, de modo que nosotros no teníamos necesidad de explicar nada,
9 For they themselves report concerning us what a welcome we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols, to serve a living and true God,	9 ya que ellos mismos cuentan los detalles de la visita que os hicimos: cómo os convertisteis a Dios, abandonando los ídolos, para servir al Dios vivo y verdadero,
10 and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.	10 y vivir aguardando la vuelta de su Hijo Jesús desde el cielo, a quien ha resucitado de entre los muertos y que nos libra del castigo futuro.
