1 Corinthians 9

1 Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord? Are not you my workmanship in the Lord?	1 Nem vagyok-e szabad? Nem vagyok-e apostol? Nem láttam-e Jézust, a mi Urunkat? Nem az én művem vagytok-e ti az Úrban?
2 If to others I am not an apostle, at least I am to you; for you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord.	2 Ha másoknak nem is volnék apostola, nektek bizony az vagyok; mert az én apostolságom pecsétje ti vagytok az Úrban.
3 This is my defense to those who would examine me.	3 Ez az én védekezésem azok előtt, akik kérdőre vonnak engem.
4 Do we not have the right to our food and drink?	4 Vajon nincs jogunk enni és inni?
5 Do we not have the right to be accompanied by a wife, as the other apostles and the brothers of the Lord and Cephas?	5 Vajon nincs jogunk asszonytestvért magunkkal vinni, mint a többi apostol, az Úr testvérei és Kéfás?
6 Or is it only Barnabas and I who have no right to refrain from working for a living?	6 Vagy csak nekem és Barnabásnak nincs jogunk arra, hogy ne dolgozzunk?
7 Who serves as a soldier at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard without eating any of its fruit? Who tends a flock without getting some of the milk?	7 Ki katonáskodik a saját zsoldján? Ki ültet szőlőt, és nem eszik annak gyümölcséből? Vagy ki legeltet nyájat, és nem élvezi a nyáj tejét?
8 Do I say this on human authority? Does not the law say the same?	8 Vajon emberi módon mondom ezeket? Nem ugyanezt mondja a törvény is?
9 For it is written in the law of Moses, "You shall not muzzle an ox when it is treading out the grain." Is it for oxen that God is concerned?	9 Mert írva van Mózes törvényében: »Nyomtató ökörnek ne kösd be a száját!« Vajon az ökrökre van gondja Istennek?
10 Does he not speak entirely for our sake? It was written for our sake, because the plowman should plow in hope and the thresher thresh in hope of a share in the crop.	10 Nem inkább miértünk mondja ezt? Bizony, értünk írták meg ezt, hogy aki szánt, reménységben szántson, és aki csépel, abban a reményben csépeljen, hogy része lesz a termésben.
11 If we have sown spiritual good among you, is it too much if we reap your material benefits?	11 Ha mi lelki javakat vetettünk nektek, nagy dolog-e, ha anyagi javaitokat aratjuk?
12 If others share this rightful claim upon you, do not we still more? Nevertheless, we have not made use of this right, but we endure anything rather than put an obstacle in the way of the gospel of Christ.	12 Ha mások részesülnek a ti javaitokból, miért nem sokkal inkább mi? De nem éltünk ezzel a hatalommal, hanem mindent eltűrünk, hogy akadályt ne állítsunk Krisztus evangéliuma elé.
13 Do you not know that those who are employed in the temple service get their food from the temple, and those who serve at the altar share in the sacrificial offerings?	13 Nem tudjátok, hogy akik a templomi szolgálatokat végzik, a szentélyből származó dolgokat eszik? És akik az oltárnál szolgálnak, az oltárról részesednek?
14 In the same way, the Lord commanded that those who proclaim the gospel should get their living by the gospel.	14 Éppen így rendelte az Úr is azok számára, akik az evangéliumot hirdetik, hogy az evangéliumból éljenek.
15 But I have made no use of any of these rights, nor am I writing this to secure any such provision. For I would rather die than have any one deprive me of my ground for boasting.	15 Én azonban ezek közül semmivel sem éltem. De nem azért írtam le mindezt, hogy a jövőben így bánjatok velem! Inkább meghalnék! Senki sem fogja semmissé tenni ezt az én dicsekvésemet!
16 For if I preach the gospel, that gives me no ground for boasting. For necessity is laid upon me. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!	16 Mert ha hirdetem az evangéliumot, nincs miért dicsekednem, hiszen kényszer alatt vagyok. Jaj nekem ugyanis, ha nem hirdetem az evangéliumot!
17 For if I do this of my own will, I have a reward; but if not of my own will, I am entrusted with a commission.	17 Mert ha a magam akaratából tenném ezt, fizetségre tarthatnék igényt. De ha nem a magam akaratából teszem, akkor sáfársággal vagyok megbízva.
18 What then is my reward? Just this: that in my preaching I may make the gospel free of charge, not making full use of my right in the gospel.	18 Mi tehát az én fizetségem? Az, hogy az evangélium hirdetésekor ingyen adom az evangéliumot, és nem élek vissza az evangéliumból eredő hatalmammal.
19 For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a slave to all, that I might win the more.	19 Mert én, bár mindenkitől független voltam, mindenki szolgájává tettem magam, hogy minél többeket nyerjek meg.
20 To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews; to those under the law I became as one under the law--though not being myself under the law--that I might win those under the law.	20 A zsidóknak olyan lettem, mint zsidó, hogy megnyerjem a zsidókat; a törvény alatt levőknek, mintha a törvény alatt volnék – bár én magam nem vagyok a törvény alatt –, hogy a törvény alatt levőket megnyerjem;
21 To those outside the law I became as one outside the law--not being without law toward God but under the law of Christ--that I might win those outside the law.	21 a törvény nélkül levőknek, mintha a törvény nélkül volnék – bár nem vagyok Isten törvénye nélkül, hanem Krisztus törvénye alatt élek –, hogy megnyerjem a törvény nélkül levőket.
22 To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.	22 A gyöngéknek gyönge lettem, hogy megnyerjem a gyöngéket; mindenkinek mindene lettem, hogy egyeseket megmentsek.
23 I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.	23 Mindent az evangéliumért teszek, hogy nekem is részem legyen benne.
24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners compete, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it.	24 Nem tudjátok, hogy akik a versenypályán futnak, mindnyájan futnak ugyan, de csak egy nyeri el a díjat? Úgy fussatok, hogy elnyerjétek!
25 Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.	25 Az pedig, aki részt vesz a versenyben, mindentől tartózkodik: ők azért, hogy hervatag koszorút nyerjenek, mi pedig, hogy hervadhatatlant.
26 Well, I do not run aimlessly, I do not box as one beating the air;	26 Futok tehát, és nem csak vaktában; mérem az ökölcsapásokat, s nem csak úgy, a levegőbe csapkodva;
27 but I pommel my body and subdue it, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.	27 hanem sanyargatom a testemet és szolgaságba vetem, nehogy, míg másokat tanítok, magam elvetésre méltó legyek.
