Zephaniah 3

1 Woe to her that is rebellious and defiled, the oppressing city!	1 Ai da (cidade) rebelde e imunda, da cidade opressora!
2 She listens to no voice, she accepts no correction. She does not trust in the LORD, she does not draw near to her God.	2 Ela não ouviu a voz (que a admoestava), nem recebeu o aviso; não confiou no Senhor, não se aproximou do seu Deus.
3 Her officials within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves that leave nothing till the morning.	3 Os seus chefes são no meio dela como leões rugindo; os seus juízes como lobos nocturnos, que não deixam nada (da presa) para a manhã seguinte.
4 Her prophets are wanton, faithless men; her priests profane what is sacred, they do violence to the law.	4 Os seus profetas são impostores e pérfidos, os seus sacerdotes profanam as coisas santas, procedem contra a lei.
5 The LORD within her is righteous, he does no wrong; every morning he shows forth his justice, each dawn he does not fail; but the unjust knows no shame.	5 O Senhor, que é justo e que está no meio dela, não faz iniquidade; de manhã estabelece à luz o seu juízo, sem falta; o ímpio, porém, não sabe que coisa é ter vergonha.
6 "I have cut off nations; their battlements are in ruins; I have laid waste their streets so that none walks in them; their cities have been made desolate, without a man, without an inhabitant.	6 Exterminei as nações (tuas inimigas, diz Deus); as suas torres foram deitadas abaixo; tornei os seus caminhos desertos, sem haver mais quem por eles passe; as suas cidades foram saqueadas, não havendo já um homem nelas, (não havendo) habitante algum.
7 I said, 'Surely she will fear me, she will accept correction; she will not lose sight of all that I have enjoined upon her.' But all the more they were eager to make all their deeds corrupt."	7 Eu disse: Ao menos depois disto (ó Israel) temer-me-ás, aproveitar-te-ás dos meus avisos; a tua casa não será arruinada por causa de todos os crimes, pelos quais eu já a castiguei. Todavia (os teus filhos), apressaram-se a tornar ainda mais detestáveis as suas obras.
8 "Therefore wait for me," says the LORD, "for the day when I arise as a witness. For my decision is to gather nations, to assemble kingdoms, to pour out upon them my indignation, all the heat of my anger; for in the fire of my jealous wrath all the earth shall be consumed.	8 Portanto, esperai-me, diz o Senhor, para o dia em que me hei-de levantar como testemunha, porque resolvi congregar as nações e reunir os reinos; (então) derramarei sobre eles a minha indignação, toda a ira do meu furor, porque toda a terra será devorada pelo fogo do meu zelo.
9 "Yea, at that time I will change the speech of the peoples to a pure speech, that all of them may call on the name of the LORD and serve him with one accord.	9 Então darei aos povos lábios puros, para que todos invoquem o nome do Senhor e o sirvam de comum acordo.
10 From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants, the daughter of my dispersed ones, shall bring my offering.	10 Da outra banda dos rios da Etiópia virão os meus adoradores, os meus filhos dispersos, trazer-me os seus presentes.
11 "On that day you shall not be put to shame because of the deeds by which you have rebelled against me; for then I will remove from your midst your proudly exultant ones, and you shall no longer be haughty in my holy mountain.	11 Naquele dia (ó Jerusalém) não serás confundida por causa de todos os teus pecados cometidos contra mim, porque então exterminarei do meio de ti aqueles que, com as suas palavras faustosas, excitavam a tua soberba, e tu, para o futuro, não te orgulharás mais por possuires o meu santo monte (de Sido).
12 For I will leave in the midst of you a people humble and lowly. They shall seek refuge in the name of the LORD,	12 Deixarei subsistir no meio de ti um povo pobre e humilde, que esperará no nome do Senhor.
13 those who are left in Israel; they shall do no wrong and utter no lies, nor shall there be found in their mouth a deceitful tongue. For they shall pasture and lie down, and none shall make them afraid."	13 Os que restarem de Israel não cometerão iniquidades, não proferirão a mentira; não se achará na sua boca língua enganosa, porquanto serão apascentados e repousarão, sem haver quem lhes canse medo.
14 Sing aloud, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel! Rejoice and exult with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem!	14 Solta gritos de júbilo, filha de Sião! Solta gritos de alegria, ó Israel! Alegra-te e exulta de todo o coração, filha de Jerusalém!
15 The LORD has taken away the judgments against you, he has cast out your enemies. The King of Israel, the LORD, is in your midst; you shall fear evil no more.	15 O Senhor apagou a sentença da tua condenação, afastou de ti os teus inimigos; o Senhor que é o rei de Israel, está no meio de ti; não temerás mais a desgraça.
16 On that day it shall be said to Jerusalem: "Do not fear, O Zion; let not your hands grow weak.	16 Naquele dia dir-se-á a Jerusalém: Não temas; não se enfraqueçam as tuas mãos, ó Sião.
17 The LORD, your God, is in your midst, a warrior who gives victory; he will rejoice over you with gladness, he will renew you in his love; he will exult over you with loud singing	17 O Senhor teu Deus, herói salvador, está no meio de ti! Por causa de ti anda em transportes de alegria, cala-se no seu amor, exulta jubiloso a teu respeito.
18 as on a day of festival. "I will remove disaster from you, so that you will not bear reproach for it.	18 Eu congregarei esses homens vãos, que se tinham afastado da lei, visto que eles te pertenciam, a fim de que tenhas mais vergonha por causa deles,
19 Behold, at that time I will deal with all your oppressors. And I will save the lame and gather the outcast, and I will change their shame into praise and renown in all the earth.	19 Eis que, naquele tempo, matarei todos os que te afligirem, salvarei os coxos, recolherei os dispersos e fá-los-ei gloriosos e afamados em todos os países onde sofreram ignomínia.
20 At that time I will bring you home, at the time when I gather you together; yea, I will make you renowned and praised among all the peoples of the earth, when I restore your fortunes before your eyes," says the LORD.	20 Naquele tempo em que vos fizer tornar, no tempo em que vos juntar todos, tornar-vos-ei célebres e gloriosos entre todos os povos da terra, quando tiver realizado, diante dos vossos olhos, a vossa restauração, diz o Senhor.
