1 The word of the LORD came to me:	1 Foi-me dirigida a palavra do Senhor nestes termos:
2 "Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus says the Lord GOD: "Wail, 'Alas for the day!'	2 Filho de homem profetiza o seguinte: Isto diz o Senhor Deus: Soltai lamentos (ó Egípcios, dizendo): Ai! Que dia!
3 For the day is near, the day of the LORD is near; it will be a day of clouds, a time of doom for the nations.	3 Porque o dia está perto, aproxima-se o dia do Senhor: dia de nuvens, tempo (do castigo) das nações!
4 A sword shall come upon Egypt, and anguish shall be in Ethiopia, when the slain fall in Egypt, and her wealth is carried away, and her foundations are torn down.	4 espada (inimiga) virá contra o Egipto: o pavor se apossará da Etiópia, quando caírem os mortos no Egipto. quando forem arrebatadas as suas riquezas, destruídos os seus fundamentos.
5 Ethiopia, and Put, and Lud, and all Arabia, and Libya, and the people of the land that is in league, shall fall with them by the sword.	5 Etiopes, Líbios, Lídios. e todos os outros povos, e Cub, e os filhos da minha aliança, cairão com eles ao fio da espada.
6 "Thus says the LORD: Those who support Egypt shall fall, and her proud might shall come down; from Migdol to Syene they shall fall within her by the sword, says the Lord GOD.	6 Isto diz O Senhor Deus: Os que sustinham o Egipto, cairão, e a soberba da sua força será destruída: cairão aos golpes da espada, desde Migdol até Siene, diz o Senhor dos exércitos.
7 And she shall be desolated in the midst of desolated countries and her cities shall be in the midst of cities that are laid waste.	7 (Aquelas regiões) serão assoladas, entre terras assoladas, e as suas cidades (devastadas) entre as cidades devastadas.
8 Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I have set fire to Egypt, and all her helpers are broken.	8 Saberão que eu sou o Senhor, quando eu tiver posto fogo ao Egipto, e forem derrotados todos os seus auxlliares.
9 "On that day swift messengers shall go forth from me to terrify the unsuspecting Ethiopians; and anguish shall come upon them on the day of Egypt's doom; for, lo, it comes!	9 Naquele dia partirão em navios mensageiros despachados por mim para perturbar a Etiópia na sua segurança, e haverá terror nela no dia (do castigo) do Egipto, dia que já está a chegar.
10 "Thus says the Lord GOD: I will put an end to the wealth of Egypt, by the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon.	10 Isto diz o Senhor Deus: Destruirei a multidão do Egipto pela mão de Nabucodonosor, rei de Babilônia.
11 He and his people with him, the most terrible of the nations, shall be brought in to destroy the land; and they shall draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with the slain.	11 Ele e o seu povo com ele, o mais bárbaro dos povos, serão levados para assolar a terra: desembainharão a sua espada contra o Egipto e encherão o país de mortos.
12 And I will dry up the Nile, and will sell the land into the hand of evil men; I will bring desolation upon the land and everything in it, by the hand of foreigners; I, the LORD, have spoken.	12 Secarei o leito dos rios, entregarei o país nas mãos dos celerados, destruirei esta terra, e tudo o que ela contém, pela mão dos estrangeiros. Sou eu o Senhor, que o digo.
13 "Thus says the Lord GOD: I will destroy the idols, and put an end to the images, in Memphis; there shall no longer be a prince in the land of Egypt; so I will put fear in the land of Egypt.	13 Isto diz o Senhor: Destruirei os ídolos, aniquilarei os falsos deuses de Mênfis. Não tornará mais a haver príncipe na. terra do Egipto. Espalharei o terror pela terra do Egipto.
14 I will make Pathros a desolation, and will set fire to Zoan, and will execute acts of judgment upon Thebes.	14 Arruinarei Patros, porei fogo a Soan (Tanis), exercerei os meus juízos em Nô (Tébas).
15 And I will pour my wrath upon Pelusium, the stronghold of Egypt, and cut off the multitude of Thebes.	15 Derramarei a minha indignação sobre Sin, baluarte do Egipto, e farei morrer a multidão de Nô.
16 And I will set fire to Egypt; Pelusium shall be in great agony; Thebes shall be breached, and its walls broken down.	16 Porei fogo ao Egipto. Sin sentirá dores angustiantes. Nô será destruída, e Mênfis assaltada em pleno dia.
17 The young men of On and of Pibeseth shall fall by the sword; and the women shall go into captivity.	17 Os jovens de Hellópolis e de Bubasto cairão ao fio da espada, e a sua população será levada cativa.
18 At Tehaphnehes the day shall be dark, when I break there the dominion of Egypt, and her proud might shall come to an end; she shall be covered by a cloud, and her daughters shall go into captivity.	18 O dia se fará noite em Tafnis, quando eu quebrar o jugo do Egipto, e acabar nele a arrogância do seu poder. Uma nuvem cobrirá a cidade, e as suas filhas serão levadas para o cativeiro.
19 Thus I will execute acts of judgment upon Egypt. Then they will know that I am the LORD."	19 Exercerei contra o Egipto os meus juízos, e saber-se-á que eu sou o Senhor.
20 In the eleventh year, in the first month, on the seventh day of the month, the word of the LORD came to me:	20 No ano undécimo, no primeiro mês, aos sete do mês, foi-me dirigida a palavra do Senhor, nestes termos;
21 "Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and lo, it has not been bound up, to heal it by binding it with a bandage, so that it may become strong to wield the sword.	21 Filho de homem, quebrei o braço de Faraó, rei do Egipto, e eis que não foi pensado por ninguém, para se curar, não foi ligado, para que, tendo recobrado a força, pudesse manejar a espada.
22 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and will break his arms, both the strong arm and the one that was broken; and I will make the sword fall from his hand.	22 Portanto isto diz o Senhor Deus: Eis-me aqui contra Faraó rei do Egipto: vou partir o seu braço válido, como o quebrado, e farei cair a espada da Sua mão.
23 I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and disperse them throughout the lands.	23 Dispersarei os Egípcios entre as nações, disseminá-los-ei por divessas terras.
24 And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put my sword in his hand; but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan before him like a man mortally wounded.	24 (Ao mesmo tempo) fortificarei os braços do rei de Babilônia e meter-lhe-ei a minha espada na mão; quebrarei os braços de Faraó, que soltará, diante dele, gemidos como os dum moribundo.
25 I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh shall fall; and they shall know that I am the LORD. When I put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, he shall stretch it out against the land of Egypt;	25 Fortificarei os braços do rei de Babilônia, e os braços de Faraó cairão. Saber-se-á que eu sou o Senhor, quando meter a minha espada na mão do rei de Babilônia, e ele a voltar contra a terra do Egipto.
26 and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them throughout the countries. Then they will know that I am the LORD."	26 Dispersarei os Egípcios entre as nações e disseminá-los-ei por diversas terras. Assim se saberá que eu sou o Senhor.
