Psalms 64

1 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint; preserve my life from dread of the enemy,	1 Per il capocoro. Salmo. Di David.
2 hide me from the secret plots of the wicked, from the scheming of evildoers,	2 Ascolta, o Dio, la mia voce mentre mi lamento; dal terrore dei nemici tu guarda la mia vita.
3 who whet their tongues like swords, who aim bitter words like arrows,	3 Nascondimi alla congrega dei reprobi, alla masnada dei facironosi.
4 shooting from ambush at the blameless, shooting at him suddenly and without fear.	4 I quali hanno affilato come spada la lingua; puntano le loro saette, parole velenose.
5 They hold fast to their evil purpose; they talk of laying snares secretly, thinking, "Who can see us?	5 Per colpire di nascosto l’innocente, all’impensata lo saettano spavaldi;
6 Who can search out our crimes? We have thought out a cunningly conceived plot." For the inward mind and heart of a man are deep!	6 si decidono all’opera malvagia, parlottano di nascondere lacci; dicono: «Chi li vedrà?»
7 But God will shoot his arrow at them; they will be wounded suddenly.	7 Escogitano malvagità, mettono a punto un disegno ben meditato; l’interno dell’uomo è pensiero inscrutabile.
8 Because of their tongue he will bring them to ruin; all who see them will wag their heads.	8 Ma Dio scocca contro di loro una saetta; d’improvviso compaiono le loro ferite.
9 Then all men will fear; they will tell what God has wrought, and ponder what he has done.	9 E a rovina li porta per la loro stessa lingua; scuotono il capo coloro che li mirano.
10 Let the righteous rejoice in the LORD, and take refuge in him! Let all the upright in heart glory!	10 Ne temono tutti e annunciano l’opera di Dio e ponderano le sue opere.
	11 Si allieta il giusto in Jahvè e confida in lui; menano vanto tutti i retti di cuore.
