Psalms 142

1 A Maskil of David, when he was in the cave. A Prayer. I cry with my voice to the LORD, with my voice I make supplication to the LORD,	1 - Salmo di David. Quando lo perseguitava Assalonne, suo figlio. O Signore, ascolta la mia preghiera, porgi orecchio al mio scongiuro, per la tua fedeltà esaudiscimi, nella tua giustizia.
2 I pour out my complaint before him, I tell my trouble before him.	2 E non venire a giudizio col tuo servo, perchè non si giustifica al tuo cospetto nessun vivente.
3 When my spirit is faint, thou knowest my way! In the path where I walk they have hidden a trap for me.	3 Il nemico perseguita l'anima mia, ha buttato a terra la mia vita, m'ha confinato nelle tenebrecome i morti da tempo.
4 I look to the right and watch, but there is none who takes notice of me; no refuge remains to me, no man cares for me.	4 E s'angoscia in me lo spirito mio, entro di me si conturba il mio cuore.
5 I cry to thee, O LORD; I say, Thou art my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.	5 Ricordo i giorni antichi, medito su tutte le tue opere, i fatti delle tue mani ripenso.
6 Give heed to my cry; for I am brought very low! Deliver me from my persecutors; for they are too strong for me!	6 Stendo le mie mani verso di te, l'anima mia come terra assetata [anela] a te!
7 Bring me out of prison, that I may give thanks to thy name! The righteous will surround me; for thou wilt deal bountifully with me.	7 Prontamente esaudiscimi, o Signore; vien meno il mio spirito! Non rivolger la faccia tua da me, ch'io non divenga simile a quei che scendon nella fossa.
	8 Fammi udir di buon'ora la [parola della] tua misericordia, perchè in te io spero. Fammi conoscer la via che ho da battere, perchè a te ho inalzato l'anima mia.
	9 Liberami da' miei nemici, o Signore, [perchè] in te io mi rifugio.
	10 Insegnami a far la tua volontà, perchè il mio Dio tu sei. Il tuo buono spirito mi guidiper la via diritta.
	11 Per il tuo nome, o Signore, rimettimi in vita, nella tua giustizia trai fuori dall'angustia l'anima mia.
	12 E nella misericordia disperdi i miei nemici, e fa' perire tutti quelli che tribolan l'anima mia, perchè il tuo servo io sono.
