In the first year of Cyrus King of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom and also put it in writing:1 El año primero de Ciro, rey de Persia, para que se cumpliera la palabra del Señor por boca de Jeremías, el Señor despertó el espíritu de Ciro, rey de Persia, para que proclamara de palabra y por escrito en todo su reino:
"Thus says Cyrus king of Persia: The LORD, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and he has charged me to build him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.2 «Esto dice Ciro, rey de Persia: El Señor, Dios del cielo, me ha dado todos los reinos de la tierra y me ha encargado que le edifique un templo en Jerusalén de Judá.
Whoever is among you of all his people, may his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and rebuild the house of the LORD, the God of Israel-- he is the God who is in Jerusalem;3 El que de vosotros pertenezca a su pueblo, que su Dios sea con él, que suba a Jerusalén de Judá, a reconstruir el templo del Señor, Dios de Israel, el Dios que está en Jerusalén.
and let each survivor, in whatever place he sojourns, be assisted by the men of his place with silver and gold, with goods and with beasts, besides freewill offerings for the house of God which is in Jerusalem."4 Y a todos los que hayan quedado, en el lugar donde vivan, que las personas del lugar en donde estén les ayuden con plata, oro, bienes y ganado, además de las ofrendas voluntarias para el templo de Dios que está en Jerusalén».
Then rose up the heads of the fathers' houses of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and the Levites, every one whose spirit God had stirred to go up to rebuild the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem;5 Entonces, los cabezas de familia de Judá y Benjamín, los sacerdotes y los levitas, y todos aquellos a quienes Dios había despertado el espíritu, se pusieron en marcha hacia Jerusalén para reconstruir el templo del Señor.
and all who were about them aided them with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, with beasts, and with costly wares, besides all that was freely offered.6 Todos sus vecinos les ayudaron con toda clase de plata, oro, bienes, ganado y objetos preciosos, además de las ofrendas voluntarias.
Cyrus the king also brought out the vessels of the house of the LORD which Nebuchadnezzar had carried away from Jerusalem and placed in the house of his gods.7 El rey Ciro mandó sacar los objetos del templo del Señor que Nabucodonosor se había llevado de Jerusalén, para ponerlos en el templo de su dios.
Cyrus king of Persia brought these out in charge of Mithredath the treasurer, who counted them out to Shesh-bazzar the prince of Judah.8 Ciro, rey de Persia, los consignó a Mitrídates, el tesorero, quien los entregó a Sesbasar, príncipe de Judá.
And this was the number of them: a thousand basins of gold, a thousand basins of silver, twenty-nine censers,9 Este fue el resultado del inventario: treinta bandejas de oro y mil de plata, veintinueve cuchillos,
thirty bowls of gold, two thousand four hundred and ten bowls of silver, and a thousand other vessels;10 treinta copas de oro, cuatrocientas diez de plata y mil accesorios de otras clases.
all the vessels of gold and of silver were five thousand four hundred and sixty-nine. All these did Shesh-bazzar bring up, when the exiles were brought up from Babylonia to Jerusalem.11 En total, cinco mil cuatrocientos objetos de oro y plata. Sesbasar llevó todo esto consigo a Jerusalén cuando regresó del destierro de Babilonia.
