1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem.	1 MANASSE era d’età di dodici anni, quando cominciò a regnare; e regnò cinquantacinque anni in Gerusalemme.
2 He did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to the abominable practices of the nations whom the LORD drove out before the people of Israel.	2 E fece ciò che dispiace al Signore, secondo le abbominazioni delle genti, le quali il Signore avea scacciate d’innanzi a’ figliuoli d’Israele.
3 For he rebuilt the high places which his father Hezekiah had broken down, and erected altars to the Baals, and made Asherahs, and worshiped all the host of heaven, and served them.	3 E tornò ad edificare gli alti luoghi, i quali Ezechia, suo padre, avea disfatti; e rizzò degli altari a’ Baali, e fece de’ boschi, e adorò tutto l’esercito del cielo, e gli servì.
4 And he built altars in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD had said, "In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever."	4 Edificò ancora degli altari nella Casa del Signore, della quale il Signore avea detto: Il mio Nome sarà in Gerusalemme in perpetuo.
5 And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.	5 Ed edificò quegli altari a tutto l’esercito del cielo, ne’ due cortili della Casa del Signore.
6 And he burned his sons as an offering in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and practiced soothsaying and augury and sorcery, and dealt with mediums and with wizards. He did much evil in the sight of the LORD, provoking him to anger.	6 Egli fece eziandio passare i suoi figliuoli per lo fuoco, nella valle del figliuolo di Hinnom; ed usò pronostichi, ed augurii, ed incantesimi; e ordinò uno spirito di Pitone, e degl’indovini. Egli fece fino al sommo ciò che dispiace al Signore, per dispettarlo.
7 And the image of the idol which he had made he set in the house of God, of which God said to David and to Solomon his son, "In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my name for ever;	7 Egli pose eziandio la scultura del simulacro ch’egli avea fatto, nella Casa di Dio, della quale Iddio avea detto a Davide, ed a Salamone, suo figliuolo: Io metterò il mio Nome in perpetuo in questa Casa, ed in Gerusalemme, che io ho eletta d’infra tutte le tribù d’Israele.
8 and I will no more remove the foot of Israel from the land which I appointed for your fathers, if only they will be careful to do all that I have commanded them, all the law, the statutes, and the ordinances given through Moses."	8 E non farò più muovere il piè d’Israele d’in su la terra, la quale io ho stabilita a’ vostri padri; pur solamente ch’essi prendano guardia di far tutto quello che io ho loro comandato, secondo tutta la Legge, e gli statuti, e le ordinazioni date per Mosè.
9 Manasseh seduced Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that they did more evil than the nations whom the LORD destroyed before the people of Israel.	9 Manasse adunque sviò Giuda, e gli abitanti di Gerusalemme, per far male, più che le genti che il Signore avea distrutte d’innanzi a’ figliuoli d’Israele.
10 The LORD spoke to Manasseh and to his people, but they gave no heed.	10 E il Signore parlò a Manasse, ed al suo popolo; ma essi non porsero l’orecchio
11 Therefore the LORD brought upon them the commanders of the army of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh with hooks and bound him with fetters of bronze and brought him to Babylon.	11 Laonde il Signore fece venire contro a loro i capi dell’esercito del re degli Assiri; i quali presero Manasse in certi greppi, e lo legarono con due catene di rame, e lo menarono in Babilonia.
12 And when he was in distress he entreated the favor of the LORD his God and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers.	12 E quando egli fu in distretta, supplicò al Signore Iddio suo, e si umiliò grandemente davanti all’Iddio de’ suoi padri.
13 He prayed to him, and God received his entreaty and heard his supplication and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD was God.	13 Ed avendogli fatta orazione, egli fu placato inverso lui, ed esaudì la sua supplicazione, e lo ricondusse in Gerusalemme al suo regno. E Manasse conobbe che il Signore è Dio.
14 Afterwards he built an outer wall for the city of David west of Gihon, in the valley, and for the entrance into the Fish Gate, and carried it round Ophel, and raised it to a very great height; he also put commanders of the army in all the fortified cities in Judah.	14 E dopo queste cose, Manasse edificò il muro di fuori della Città di Davide, dall’Occidente verso Ghihon, nella valle, fino alla porta de’ pesci, e d’ogn’intorno fino ad Ofel; ed alzò grandemente quel muro; e mise de’ capitani di guerra per tutte le città forti di Giuda;
15 And he took away the foreign gods and the idol from the house of the LORD, and all the altars that he had built on the mountain of the house of the LORD and in Jerusalem, and he threw them outside of the city.	15 e tolse via dalla Casa del Signore gl’iddii degli stranieri, e il simulacro, e tutti gli altari ch’egli avea edificati nel monte della Casa di Dio ed in Gerusalemme; e li gittò fuori della città.
16 He also restored the altar of the LORD and offered upon it sacrifices of peace offerings and of thanksgiving; and he commanded Judah to serve the LORD the God of Israel.	16 Poi rifece l’Altare del Signore, e sacrificò sopra esso sacrificii da render grazie, e di laude; e comandò a Giuda di servire al Signore Iddio d’Israele.
17 Nevertheless the people still sacrificed at the high places, but only to the LORD their God.	17 Nondimeno il popolo sacrificava ancora negli alti luoghi; ma pure al Signore Iddio suo.
18 Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer to his God, and the words of the seers who spoke to him in the name of the LORD the God of Israel, behold, they are in the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.	18 Ora, quant’è al rimanente de’ fatti di Manasse, e l’orazione ch’egli fece all’Iddio suo, e le parole de’ veggenti, che gli parlarono a nome del Signore Iddio d’Israele; ecco, queste cose sono scritte nel libro dei re d’Israele.
19 And his prayer, and how God received his entreaty, and all his sin and his faithlessness, and the sites on which he built high places and set up the Asherim and the images, before he humbled himself, behold, they are written in the Chronicles of the Seers.	19 E quant’è alla sua orazione, e come Iddio fu placato inverso lui, e tutto il suo peccato, e il suo misfatto, e i luoghi ne’ quali egli edificò degli alti luoghi, e rizzò boschi e sculture, avanti che si fosse umiliato; ecco, queste cose sono scritte nel libro di Hozai.
20 So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his house; and Amon his son reigned in his stead.	20 E Manasse giacque co’ suoi padri, e fu seppellito in casa sua. Ed Amon, suo figliuolo, regnò in luogo suo
21 Amon was twenty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem.	21 AMON era d’età di ventidue anni, quando cominciò a regnare; e regnò due anni in Gerusalemme.
22 He did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, as Manasseh his father had done. Amon sacrificed to all the images that Manasseh his father had made, and served them.	22 E fece ciò che dispiace al Signore, come Manasse, suo padre, avea fatto; e sacrificò, e servì a tutte le sculture, che Manasse, suo padre, avea fatte.
23 And he did not humble himself before the LORD, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself, but this Amon incurred guilt more and more.	23 Ma egli non si umiliò davanti al Signore, come Manasse, suo padre, si era umiliato; anzi esso Amon accrebbe vie più le colpe.
24 And his servants conspired against him and killed him in his house.	24 Or i suoi servitori fecero una congiura contro a lui, e l’uccisero in casa sua.
25 But the people of the land slew all those who had conspired against King Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.	25 E il popolo del paese percosse tutti quelli che aveano fatta congiura contro al re Amon; e costituì re, in luogo di esso, Giosia, suo figliuolo
