1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem.	1 Manasés tenía doce años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó cincuenta y cinco años en Jerusalén.
2 He did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to the abominable practices of the nations whom the LORD drove out before the people of Israel.	2 El hizo lo que es malo a los ojos del Señor, siguiendo las costumbres abominables de las naciones que el Señor había desposeído delante de los israelitas.
3 For he rebuilt the high places which his father Hezekiah had broken down, and erected altars to the Baals, and made Asherahs, and worshiped all the host of heaven, and served them.	3 Reedificó los lugares altos que había derribado su padre Ezequías; erigió altares a los Baales, hizo postes sagrados, y se postró delante de todo el Ejército de los cielos y lo sirvió.
4 And he built altars in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD had said, "In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever."	4 Edificó altares en la Casa del Señor, de la que el mismo Señor había dicho: «En Jerusalén estará mi Nombre para siempre».
5 And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.	5 Edificó altares a todo el Ejército de los cielos en los dos atrios de la Casa del Señor.
6 And he burned his sons as an offering in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and practiced soothsaying and augury and sorcery, and dealt with mediums and with wizards. He did much evil in the sight of the LORD, provoking him to anger.	6 Inmoló a sus propios hijos en el fuego, en el valle de Ben Hinnóm, practicó la astrología, la magia y la hechicería, e instituyó nigromantes y adivinos. Persistió en hacer lo que es malo a los ojos del Señor, provocando su indignación.
7 And the image of the idol which he had made he set in the house of God, of which God said to David and to Solomon his son, "In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my name for ever;	7 La estatua del Idolo que había hecho, la instaló en la Casa de Dios, de la que el mismo Dios había dicho a David y a su hijo Salomón: «En esta Casa y en Jerusalén, que yo elegí entre todas las tribus de Israel, pondré mi Nombre para siempre.
8 and I will no more remove the foot of Israel from the land which I appointed for your fathers, if only they will be careful to do all that I have commanded them, all the law, the statutes, and the ordinances given through Moses."	8 Ya no permitiré que Israel ande errante lejos del suelo que destiné a sus padres, con tal que se empeñen en practicar todo lo que les he mandado, de acuerdo con la Ley, los preceptos y las normas, transmitidos por Moisés».
9 Manasseh seduced Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that they did more evil than the nations whom the LORD destroyed before the people of Israel.	9 Manasés extravió a Judá y a los habitantes de Jerusalén, a tal punto que obraron peor que las naciones que el Señor había exterminado delante de los israelitas.
10 The LORD spoke to Manasseh and to his people, but they gave no heed.	10 El señor habló a Manasés y a su pueblo, pero ellos no le prestaron atención.
11 Therefore the LORD brought upon them the commanders of the army of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh with hooks and bound him with fetters of bronze and brought him to Babylon.	11 Entonces el Señor hizo venir contra ellos a los jefes del ejército del rey de Asiria, y estos capturaron a Manasés con garfios, lo sujetaron con doble cadena de bronce y lo llevaron a Babilonia.
12 And when he was in distress he entreated the favor of the LORD his God and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers.	12 En medio de su angustia él aplacó al Señor, su Dios, humillándose profundamente delante del Dios de sus padres.
13 He prayed to him, and God received his entreaty and heard his supplication and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD was God.	13 Le suplicó, y el Señor lo escuchó benignamente: oyó su plegaria lo hizo volver a su reino, en Jerusalén. Así reconoció Manasés que el Señor es Dios.
14 Afterwards he built an outer wall for the city of David west of Gihon, in the valley, and for the entrance into the Fish Gate, and carried it round Ophel, and raised it to a very great height; he also put commanders of the army in all the fortified cities in Judah.	14 Después de esto, construyó una muralla exterior a la Ciudad de David, al oeste del Guijón, en el valle, hasta la puerta de los Peces, rodeando el Ofel, y la hizo muy alta. Además, puso jefes militares en todas las ciudades fuertes de Judá.
15 And he took away the foreign gods and the idol from the house of the LORD, and all the altars that he had built on the mountain of the house of the LORD and in Jerusalem, and he threw them outside of the city.	15 Luego retiró de la Casa del Señor los dioses extranjeros y el Idolo. Hizo lo mismo con todos los altares que él mismo había erigido en la montaña de la Casa del Señor y en Jerusalén, arrojándolos fuera de la ciudad.
16 He also restored the altar of the LORD and offered upon it sacrifices of peace offerings and of thanksgiving; and he commanded Judah to serve the LORD the God of Israel.	16 Restauró el altar del Señor e inmoló sobre él sacrificios de comunión y de acción de gracias, y ordenó que Judá sirviera al Señor, el Dios de Israel.
17 Nevertheless the people still sacrificed at the high places, but only to the LORD their God.	17 El pueblo, sin embargo, continuaba ofreciendo sacrificios en los lugares altos, aunque sólo el Señor, su Dios.
18 Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer to his God, and the words of the seers who spoke to him in the name of the LORD the God of Israel, behold, they are in the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.	18 El resto de los hechos de Manasés, la oración hecha a su Dios y las palabras de los videntes que le hablaron en nombre del Señor, el Dios de Israel, están escritos en los Anales de los reyes de Israel.
19 And his prayer, and how God received his entreaty, and all his sin and his faithlessness, and the sites on which he built high places and set up the Asherim and the images, before he humbled himself, behold, they are written in the Chronicles of the Seers.	19 Su plegaria y cómo fue escuchado, todo su pecado y su prevaricación, los sitios donde edificó lugares altos y erigió postes sagrados e ídolos, antes de humillarse, están escritos en las Memorias de Jozai.
20 So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his house; and Amon his son reigned in his stead.	20 Manasés se fue a descansar con sus padres, y lo sepultaron a su casa. Su hijo Amón reinó en lugar de él.
21 Amon was twenty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem.	21 Amón tenía veintidós años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó dos años en Jerusalén.
22 He did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, as Manasseh his father had done. Amon sacrificed to all the images that Manasseh his father had made, and served them.	22 El hizo lo que es malo a los ojos del Señor, como lo había hecho su padre Manasés. Ofreció sacrificios y sirvió a todos los ídolos que había hecho su padre Manasés.
23 And he did not humble himself before the LORD, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself, but this Amon incurred guilt more and more.	23 Pero no se humilló delante del Señor, como se había humillado su padre Manasés, sino que multiplicó sus culpas.
24 And his servants conspired against him and killed him in his house.	24 Sus servidores conspiraron contra él y lo mataron en su palacio.
25 But the people of the land slew all those who had conspired against King Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.	25 Pero el pueblo del país mató a todos los que habían conspirado contra el rey Amón, y el mismo pueblo proclamó rey en lugar de él a su hijo Josías.
