1 - Ma tu discorri le cose che si convengono alla sana dottrina.	1 But you are to speak the things that befit sound doctrine.
2 Che i vecchi sian sobrii, degni di rispetto, saggi, sani nella fede, nell'amore, nella costanza;	2 Old men should be sober, chaste, prudent, sound in faith, in love, in patience.
3 e le donne d'età parimente si mantengano in un contegno di decorosa santità, non siano maldicenti, non schiave del molto vino, maestre di bene,	3 Old women, similarly, should be in holy attire, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teaching well,
4 acciocchè rendan savie le giovani, sì da amare i mariti loro, amanti dei figli,	4 so that they may teach prudence to the young women, so that they may love their husbands, love their children,
5 sagge, caste, lavoratrici in casa, buone, soggette ai proprii mariti, affinchè della parola di Dio non si dica male.	5 be sensible, chaste, restrained, have concern for the household, be kind, be subordinate to their husbands: so that the Word of God may be not blasphemed.
6 Del pari esorta i giovani a esser savii in tutto,	6 Exhort young men similarly, so that they may show self-restraint.
7 mostrando te stesso modello di opere buone, e nell'insegnare mostra purità, gravità,	7 In all things, present yourself as an example of good works: in doctrine, with integrity, with seriousness,
8 parola sana e incensurabile, acciocchè chi ci sta contro abbia rispetto, non avendo nulla di male da dire di noi.	8 with sound words, irreproachably, so that he who is an opponent may dread that he has nothing evil to say about us.
9 Gli schiavi siano soggetti ai loro padroni in tutto, compiacenti, non abbiano lo spirito di contraddire,	9 Exhort servants to be submissive to their masters, in all things pleasing, not contradicting,
10 di mettere da parte a vantaggio proprio, ma mostrino in tutto la loro buona fede, in modo da far onore in ogni cosa alla dottrina del nostro Salvatore Dio.	10 not cheating, but in all things showing good fidelity, so that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.
11 Poichè la grazia di Dio s'è mostrata salvatrice per tutti gli uomini	11 For the grace of God our Savior has appeared to all men,
12 ammaestrandoci, affinchè rinnegando l'empietà e le cupidigie mondane, saggiamente e giustamente e piamente viviamo nella presente vita,	12 instructing us to reject impiety and worldly desires, so that we may live soberly and justly and piously in this age,
13 attendendo quella beata speranza che è l'apparizione gloriosa del gran Dio e Salvatore nostro Gesù Cristo;	13 looking forward to the blessed hope and the advent of the glory of the great God and of our Savior Jesus Christ.
14 il quale ha dato se stesso per noi affine di riscattarci da ogni iniquità e purificare per sè un popolo di sua proprietà, zelatore di opere buone.	14 He gave himself for our sake, so that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and might cleanse for himself an acceptable people, pursuers of good works.
15 Tali cose insegna ed esorta, e riprendi con tutta l'autorità. Che nessuno ti disprezzi.	15 Speak and exhort and argue these things with all authority. Let no one despise you.
